It’s funny isn't it how when our children are born as silly as it seems
we have dreams for them well before they ever have a chance to dream.
We see that beautiful baby and so many dreams we quickly conceive…
We really cannot help ourselves…it’s parental nature I believe.
But…as they grow and dream their own dreams
we find there comes a day…
when their dreams become our dreams…
and we put our initial dreams away.
But being parents we continue dreaming…
yes, new dreams are unveiled…
dreams that are more general and a little less detailed.
We still dream with great intensity,
with pizzaz and energy and style!
We dream they will be healthy, wise, kind, generous
and always have a reason to smile.
And even though they’re not living our initial dream…
I mean…how many children do?
It’s funny isn't it…how just knowing they are living their dream
has made our dreams come true.
Life consists of a happy youth
The beginning of a lifelong arc
Then a dear dear family comes next
Life is like a day in the park
Joy and laughter are number one
We just can't believe our luck
Then we notice our first grey hair
And panic begins to erupt
Must be a mistake, it can't be true
I'm right at the top of the curve
Perhaps a grave error has just occurred
Now “grave” that ain't a good word
Still very vibrant and filled with pizzaz
I'm much too young to get old
However I do feel a chill, it just can't be
This body's starting to feel cold
Imagination is running away with me
Still got lotsa gas in the tank
Just hit the ancient age of eighty years old
Guess I've got good genes to thank!
Pompous Popinjay Politicians

Pizzaz Potions,
Priming Us To Sheep.
Greet the sanguine dawn’s mauve sunrise,
A crimson pizzaz blushing opaline skies
Where eagle flies questing higher highs
Thrilling endearing vibes of enamored eyes
In sparrow’s glance, in cardinal’s dance
In the call of passion, in trill of romance.
Feel the gentle tease of buoyant breeze
And rhythms lilting on blossoming trees
As resplendence extols nature’s appeal~
White-blooms scintillating magnolia’s zeal,
Blazing red-peonies, flaming gold-daffodils,
Glint panorama glistening verdant foothills.
It’s the bubbling spirit of burbling stream
It’s budding impulse of meadow’s dream
It’s passionate horizon of magenta gleam
It’s the dawning aspiration of sunlit beam
It’s colorful ballet of splendiferous theme
It’s heavenly spring of earthly daydream.
Hear sweet songs of love strumming air,
Seductive melodies wafting everywhere
As birds hop, waltz, frolic, sing, and play
Serenading welcome to a beauteous day
Warbling verse of joy, trilling “cheer, cheer”
Oh! the spring is here, the spring’s here!

I walk down the street wearing a dress
With confidence and pizzaz of which I possess
My chest sticking out
Snot bubbling from my snout
People rejoicing at the sight of my ass-ets
Sometimes we look to closest friends,
Expressly those who think we're ace:
Let them confirm our worth but still
Forget, inside us lies the proof.
Actualization calls for a
Command of strength and keen logic
To shape ourselves, at last, to get
Unknown rewards on our plateau.
And with revealed goals, we take a
Lone journey through heart and soul
In our quest...a long safari,
Zestfully seeking life's pizzazz,
And a fruitful new arena
That hones our talents as our gift.
Inner joy promotes stimuli
Of further searches, that lead to
New trails of self-completion.

Seeing an ever growing list of my poems
Each and every one is so special to me
Learning to write poetry has been wonderful
Forming my first poem was a form of stress relief
All my musings come from an often crazy idea!
Challenging myself with new forms is therapeutic
Time for me to try and become a perfectionist -
Using my newfound skills to write a proper haiku!
At first I would get an idea and suffer from insomnia
Lately I am able to keep my muse under control!!
I secretly hope to be part of the poetry glitterati
Zealously I can now write with style and pizzazz!
Amazingly in November I will recite poems at a gala
There on the theatre stage I will be in the spotlight -
I may surreptitiously wave to my friends to say hi!
Oh my self-confidence will reach a crescendo
Now I’ll confess writing has become my passion!
