the poignant stream froze
in the desolate valley of chilled flowers
unseen in the hills of blues

the spring of revived longing
melted glacier of innate hearty content 
in lacustrine luster of sapphire embrace
where the blocks of essence ice 
perched on actuality stones of yearned shore
formed the obelisk icon
the eternal connection 
between the heavenly sky

When Love Perched

When love perched on my window sill I closed the curtains and prayed for its demise.
When I asked love to show me favor it grinned with a devilish smile,
When love was said to me it was only out for its own interest. 
There figures came and went, yet disappearing like baby teeth. 
Love stayed away,

Bygone recollected reflections while perched atop storied roof...

years gone by now with a poof
constituting one garden variety generic goof
bolle yours truly sprawled himself aloof

The celebrated sailing frog
     from Montgomery County
     went a court'n, or so the tale iz toad
to a grand ole mansion built around 1910,

     donned wafted air
fragrant with flowered flora
     visibility for miles
     if ether crystal clear,
this high da way countless yards
     off the ground presented flare
approximating pristine floral display

taking devil's advocate stance...,
with sharp eyed cognizance

Wild eyed traitor Joe Schmoe,
albeit Democrat subjects himself to grow
wing skepticism at impeachment show
whip lashed, viz strapping jock who stow
weapons of mashed destruction
expects at least one rotten tomato,
or "mother's petrified pop slop,

electronic brickbats, et cetera
hard as(s) bupkis targeting yours truly

Our wall clock chimes midnight
You’re still frolicking away from home
I cry rivers of tears in the wee hours of the night
As dreams we once shared away they roam 

Far, far, far away to a distant abyss
Catalyzed and cannibalized by a heart of rock
That feels nothing of the feelings I miss

endless rows of dust-choked porticoes

Receding to the vanishing point:

sun-drenched streets,
Ways to, hours for due mythology;

busy temples; gleaming marble columns;
massive, stone arches rising through
the wafting dust, through climbing, curling
shafts of dark, fragrant incense;

a general push and shove; 
all the chaos and clamor
that any self-respecting business man 
could ever hope

Sparrow Perched On My Head

Sparrow perched on my head;
whispered to me in the ear;
“Come let’s go to Virgin Island
I’ll carry you on my back.
and you  will enjoy my turn
when I’m there right on your back.”
“Stop it,” I rebuked the mad bird
“How shall I conceive my babies?
by binary fusion?
by grafting?
is there Holy Spirit?
Devil, go away.

The Perched Silence

Wonderful is the dance of our courtship--
daily getting smashed to dust
daily returned to the mirthful unison again.
Isn't the concrete so brittle or amorphous
that conjoins the blocks of stones or bricks?
And yet so strong and durable somewhere
that lasted almost a life's period!
Was or is this a bond of hatred?And if so,
is it not preferable to love

my feelers feel a moldy cheese wheel 
to the dented and bitten side, slapping 
pushing, thumbing down, break a chunk 
and bring close to my eyes to take 
a look. there are my brothers, they  
look hither and see my eight thousand 
eyes gazing upon squirming fatness 
in the festering fuzzy fungus sauce.

the perched falcon waits
in bare limbs of forest tree...
a squirrel plays near

the falcon makes move
squirrel in race for its life....
a tree has heart rot

once more the pursued
escapes the fate of death's end...
