When Love Perched
When love perched on my window sill I closed the curtains and prayed for its demise.
When I asked love to show me favor it grinned with a devilish smile,
When love was said to me it was only out for its own interest.
There figures came and went, yet disappearing like baby teeth.
Love stayed away, stretched as endless as the galaxies.
I opened the curtains and yet love still remained, perched high in its forgiving state.
