Paulie the polar bear from Eskimo Alley
Was decorating a Christmas tree to surprise Sally
He had been dating her for six weeks; her love he wanted to sway
He had no idea she had met another polar bear and eloped that day
on that fence are the three cutest pigs you ever hope to see
I ran over to look, he was nuts, this city-slicker, Tommy Lee
These are piglets, not pigs, I yelled to him rather snottily.
The piglets began to snort and whistled with glee
We are Patty’s pretty pink piglets, polished and persnickety.
Puffed up and prideful, perhaps you know our uncle Paulie Lee?
They began dancing around on ham hocks, showing off their glee.
I now wanted to meet their amazing mother, the glorious Patty.
I stand by the window watching the sea rise and fall
knowing why they call it open, for it is, after all
hypnotic too; it lulls me into a dream state
my cat Paulie sits staring, as if it is great
of course it is, if you want to be in a sleepy hypnotic mood
it is twilight, so the orange sky adds to the ambiance like food
creatures are settling down, women are picking up their knitting
I stare out into the wild waves, watching them where I am sitting
they are deeply relaxing, giving me a reason to turn off my day
Paulie gives a wide yawn and looks at me in his all-knowing way
I decide to drink a cup of warm cocoa, and take a bit of a rest.
Within minutes I am cozy, comfy, almost asleep in my nest
Honeybee danced round beautiful indeed
singing in my ear and pink Joe-pye weed.
I tried to shoo it away
the hummer this summer day
a nasty sharp sting that is all I need
Twas beautiful as a sunflower head
the honeybee a pet I took to bed
Nectar for my Honey Nut
Cheerios it sought guess what
Paulie a nose of a blood hound I fed
Paulie my pet bee likes my girlfriend Dee
A picnic Dee and I under a tree
Paulie flew round the jasmine
Mayhem you can't imagine
A swarm charged us; Paulie was their queen bee.

My name is Cousin Paulie,
Average bloke in an average job,
Father to a daughter who was killed by a virus,
while neutropenic from chemotherapy,
Son to an 89 year old dad,
Who would like to see 90 in June,
Staying home and isolating,
A message to those who still play
and risk the lives of the sick and old,
Stay the * at home,
Or we will have our vengeance,
in this life or the next.
Hello darkness my old friend
I have come to you again..
running over something ..
that being a Bridge over troubled water
and in my footsteps I am thinking ...
This is the sound of silence.. "
in this silence
the respirator breathes…
we did not know
his heart
was
still

Step-father-in-law passed away...he passed while we were in the room.
