waves lull me into a dream state
I stand by the window watching the sea rise and fall
knowing why they call it open, for it is, after all
hypnotic too; it lulls me into a dream state
my cat Paulie sits staring, as if it is great
of course it is, if you want to be in a sleepy hypnotic mood
it is twilight, so the orange sky adds to the ambiance like food
creatures are settling down, women are picking up their knitting
I stare out into the wild waves, watching them where I am sitting
they are deeply relaxing, giving me a reason to turn off my day
Paulie gives a wide yawn and looks at me in his all-knowing way
I decide to drink a cup of warm cocoa, and take a bit of a rest.
Within minutes I am cozy, comfy, almost asleep in my nest
