Ever so sweet
is kernel hub,
the power button,
so neat, tiny and mighty.
But the sweet spot
can sour with
too much power
to savor its glory.
For to score is fragile,
furtive and futile,
when a near miss,
catches the edge.
It's easily bruised,
easily abused,
easily overused,
overdone and missed.
The soft spot sweetie,
requires a gentle touch,
with panache, pizzazz,
flair and feeling.

Slept with debt
Colors fading in
And about my paper
These missiles
I learn from
Lost times
Missing tables
Without a binding
Leaving signs
Coming long, overdone
My riddled ponds
Scram, loves
Every beating shirt
Out of fits i have worn, down
Down, i war every one down
To be alone, dense
As putrid grey
Clouds inside of a sand
A single sand left
Whereth my shlacked confusion
Meaningless resentable
Getting through a need
She wouldnt love
Her boy is my shove
Back to war he goes

"Watch out! This here is much worse than falling timber!" --quote by poet
You flirt with risk one too many times.
The pin is p u l l e d; it's now airborne.
Oh boy, you've really overdone this one.
You chose the wrong toy to play with;
And this sword of Damocles blows BIG!
Mama sure wasn't around to warn ya...

the tips look overdone
there is no more burning smell
a pyre, but what has been here?
No smells or remnants left
Only ashes

My young blind date thought he was hilarious
His antics were corny, ridiculously overdone and nefarious
Mother thought he was charmingly gregarious.
Why don’t you date him? Suggested Uncle Darius.

"I have been a stranger in a strange land." Bible, Exodus 2:22
The compass whirrs.
North toward rock, south toward sand.
East toward ice, and west toward river.
Like a game of spin the bottle I take a chance on north,
run my hands over stone and pebble,
the spine of life a twisting snakeskin, shedding.
The compass whirrs
as words and winds uproot me to the south. Dust ridden,
arid. Earth sizzles, a roast overdone. My flaking skin
drenched in sweated drought.
The compass whirrs
as those years of crinkling sand dune heat melt
somehow into eastern snow. You don’t understand
how or why or when those summers became leaves that
fall, became sleet upon which you slip, recklessly, helplessly, toward time’s
splash. The final plunge pool.
Now, western waters offer a mirror,
sometimes murky, sometimes crystal,
and still, the compass whirrs, as you realise
that strange land - your body.
The stranger - you.

Serious sad jack of hearts had lost his tarts
That’s not so bad, at least it’s not your smarts
He heard lots of junk like this at the super marts
By his notorious enemy, bad black jack barts.
Jack of hearts was determined to be upset.
He had no idea what could happen yet.
Made some bad choices, oh yes, you bet.
Needed to comb his hair, his eyes all wet.
Buck up son, said his mother, I will bake you a new one.
You can help me if you want, we will have fun.
At last she finally said “I think we are done”.
The tart was tasty too, not in the least overdone.

Black is the color of my sin
And the color of silky night
White is the color of my repent
And the color of stars in sky
Black is the color of my skin
Once baked overdone by sun
White is the lotion I soak in
Once the sunburn has won
The white of eyes are a joy
Colorful pupils look above
Black is a heart when devoid
Of compassion and lavender love
The whitest smile so pretty
The blackest berry so sweet
Sing me a black white ditty
With a lovely maroon melody
Black and white piano keys
Take flight unite as we sing

Mom's and Pop's Days - graduation
birthdays, weddings - overdone.
One can't forget Christmas
or Juneteenth's fret and fuss...
Every day - a celebration.
Bah hum bug! barks grinchy young guy;
it's time to give presents, my eye!
To shop is such hard work
which I must choose to shirk.
Will a gift card wish them "good buy"?
Comes next the giftee's coup d'etat:
Gratitude - not a big hurrah.
A gift was expected
gift cards are accepted
But thank-you? not a rule of law.

Way back a learned man tried to teach his
Students, the treatment of using leeches.
And to those who had doubting defiance,
They were told to, ‘Just trust the science.’
After all what’s wrong with bloodletting,
When good health is what you’ll be getting.
Yet sometimes leeching was overdone,
Which aided the death of George Washington.
Two hundred years ago some Calomel,
Was supposed to make sick patients well.
But some people cried out ‘It has cured me,’
To avoid ingesting more mercury.
And shockingly there’s coffee enemas,
To ease constipation dilemmas.
Yet its cure is just ‘pie-in-the-sky’,
Joining that list of cures, that are sci-fi.
Sci-fi persists with Coronavirus,
Since shots can bring on myocarditis.
Still, people long to be in compliance,
Coz for god’s sake, they trust the sci-fi-ence.
Why be like past sci-fi-ence enablers,
Who believe the paid off ‘expert’ fablers.
Why not take time to learn alternate views,
And debunk myths with good health and good news.

I never thought you could go wrong
If you added color, for I love it so.
But my cousin Edna who wore a thong
Went overboard until I yelled “whoa!”
Your eyes do not get used to the patterns there.
Up, down, sideways, backwards, everywhere.
I thought a rainbow kitchen would be fine.
But it was ridiculously overdone and out of line.
I know you will love it, Edna said to me.
She brought me down to give a look see.
Her idea was so ridiculously positively overrated,
Horrified, I did not like what she had created.

We gawkers love the enthusiasm that you always show
Your ways are loud and proud, but in no way overdone.
Proving to us circus folk that ring-mastering can be fun!

Celtic faerie queen
With hazel eyes and body lean
We the fey are in your debt
Your gentle ways more than inept
The highlights in your golden glimpse eyes
Give us a daily offering of complete surprise
Your verdicts are swift, but always fair.
We love hearing your prayers in the air
You have inspired us all to do a bit better
Justice prevails in the land of Metter.
Celtic faerie queen, you are such a rare one
Your decrees are never overdone.
