Brave indeed..I've thought to long on what
To write.? She stands with Jon Wedger; both fighters for childrens rights.. i ment this is a tribute.' Yet maybe its also a rallying cry.? My prayers are for her safety
I beleive her contribution to humanity
( should be written on UK skies) why not
Great mention of her in media? Or of Jon?
Or the countless more.' Who strive to bring the light of truth.' With actions with
Hope that makes me dare.' To think some
Will be lifted.' When they realise there lives
Those who will stand, though gagged and banned with worthy hands, that an encouragemant shall ever live.'

Intuition

Reality is a canvas
of hues and shades,
Where shadows dance
and sunlight eventually fades,
Intuition's whispers, a gentle breeze,
Revealing what
the eyes may
not yet see..

Premium Member Oliver the October Scarecrow

Oliver, the October Scarecrow was freshly made from hay.
He liked scaring the birds and the bumblebees away.
They tried to get near the pumpkin patch until they saw him wave.
His arms spiraled like a windmill at the edge of a windblown cave.

He had a mouse in his pocket, keeping it away from the cat.
There was an owl nearby, who was also eyeing it, for it was rather fat.
Tasty to the cat and the owl, but not a delicacy to Oliver at all.
His pumpkins were healthy, two of them were at least three feet tall.

There was a witch that came by and tried to cast a spell.
He did not fall for her trickery, in the meadow or the dell.
She scooted off shortly and told others about his wise ways.
He was excited about that until the end of his days.

Premium Member Oliver Loves Celia

Since Orlando saved his life, Oliver is a changed man.
He now wants to help his brother any way he can.
When Oliver first saw Celia, he was struck by Cupid's arrow.
Rosalind's cousin is a woman Oliver would like to know.
Brother of Orlando's cup of love now does overflow.
Sweet Celia has really made Oliver's heart sing.
Everything is pulling together towards a happy ending.

Ollie, Ollie, the reddish sun is coming up,
Mother's in the kitchen filling the teacup,
Teddy bear awaits fantastic adventure today,
Walk softly little Ollie, 'til shadows go away.

Ollie, Ollie, green grassy fields are calling,
Frogs are croaking, and rooster is bawling,
Time is swift, but the days are growing long,
Making way for the frenzied summer throng!

The symphony of morning plays on
strings of a quartet unloose like the sun
on your window sill, by morning rise

Listen to the sweet music as it plays
blooming all your flowers
as they dance on your crystal vase

Hear the silence of his steps as he shuffles
hugging his violin, he plays on and on
just for you, listen to him, won't you ?

Grandpa's tractor coughs, sputters and comes alive, acrid smoke sharpening my senses... gears engaged, lurches forward, disturbing clouds of fungus midges bursting in the sun from the damp clumps of weeds near the barn.
Anise Hyssop, wild spires along the barn, fill the air with licorice smells as the rear wheels brush by.

Proceeding to the field, the tractor hiccups over clumps of soil, jarring memories of Grandpa's firm grip around my waist, riding along, teaching me secrets of the earth...

...a cycle finished, Grandma brought out to the field at lunchtime, a covered basket filled with cold chicken, potato salad, creamed cucumbers and half a fresh berry pie, lovingly prepared the day before, sharing smiles and my excited recollections of the morning...

...another couple hours and Grandpa tires a bit, so we ramble back to the barn, spying Grandma unclipping laundry from the clothesline, softly singing beautiful hymns of praise.

A Blessed Day, Indeed..

Was a big lizard who was fairly ripe
His pink and red top hat brought plenty of hype
Some were so jealous they began to gripe
The treble, the cleft, the tooth, and the tripe,
I thought he was adorable with his blue green back stripe.

A Duck Called Oliver

A DUCK CALLED OLIVER

‘Twas I a lucky boy that be,
Who lived back in a time?
Of peaceful calm,
Way back then
Suburban farm
Acre of scrub and bush
Outskirts of the city be.
Animals on daily basis so
Time for there to feed
“MOOK” our milking cow to milk,
Chooks “BETTY, PAULA and MAGGIE MAY”
Eggs a collecting every day,
Olde cat “MIDNIGHT” great mouser she is.
And her kittens small
Always there to be given away,
Our faithful dog
Who was christened as a pup “OLE RED”
Really was a one of kind.

But who could ever forget
Our duck called “OLIVER!”
Who came to us at sibling size?
Then grew and grew
Pet of great to have around
Became a watchdog so
Quacking, quacking and more quacking
Whenever or whenever
An intruder round and about
Our homestead home,
But now as I look back,
Memories of a wonderful past
In a time of peaceful calm,
Our suburban farm
You know it’s gone and no longer there,
But who’d ever forget
A duck
That we of the brood
Nicknamed her as “OLIVER!”

Premium Member Fishing With Oliver

One day while fishing on the bridge,
I hooked a gorgeous speckled trout,
Reeled it in and pulled it out,
Carried home, stored in my fridge.

The trout it was prepared next day,
Two large filets cooked and eaten,
Flavor intense could not be beaten
By any chef, no how, no way.

With spinach green, tomatoes red,
Sautéed perfection in olive oil,
Potatoes piping from the boil,
A perfect meal left us well fed.

A glass of wine, a Pinot Gris,
Washed down the food with complement,
The nose? Fresh flowers, a lovely scent,
Pure vintage, two thousand and three.

Relaxed, forgetting all our sorrow,
After such a sumptuous dish,
I long to catch another fish,
To the bridge again, perhaps tomorrow.

We Are Oliver Twists

A street hawker in Port-Harcourt prays that God provides heavily congested traffic
A rich man in Lagos prays to avoid every congested traffic
All these people are children of God
After all, whether from the church or mosque, they both pray to the same God
At this point I would ask if God shall rob Peter to pay Paul
Are we not Oliver Twists after all?

When a girl becomes a woman, she prays to God to become a mother
When her fetus comes of age, she prays to God for safe delivery
When her baby begins to grow, she prays to God to keep her baby
When her baby is won and grown, she prays to God for grandchildren
Sometimes I wonder why a boy must become a man
Sometimes I wonder why a girl must become a mother
Sometimes I wonder why there is day and night
Sometimes I wonder why I am even asking these questions
Somehow I knew the answer when I read Oliver Twist

When the kitchen is stuffed and the cabinet spaces not blank.
When there is excess money in the bank,
we may not find much reason to cook.
Only the rich or wealthy says life if good.
Only a hungry stomach asks for food.
Only Oliver Twist asks for more

Robert Oliver

Rob is a sad example of medical error,
Because after he suffered a fractured leg,
Hospital doctors failed to do tests to render,
His leg heathy, so amputation was his keg.

However, he’s turned tragedy into success,
Because having been an amateur footballer,
He’s now a para-canoeist in the KL3 class,
With gold he’s the 2015 European controller.

In 2015 he took silver in the K1 200m KL3,
At the World Champs. in Milan and made Rio,
He’s sacrificed a lot and says that “Firstly,
I was so angry with everyone, everything, [oh]”
