Christmas Ode Poems | Examples
These Christmas Ode poems are examples of Ode poems about Christmas. These are the best examples of Ode Christmas poems written by international poets.
I recall the yelling but silent voice of winter
that broken December when the lights from
lanterns shot up from their wicks with the
fading strength of departing glows abroad.
Twilights hastened through the spine of
receding days, halting the approach of a
wayward Christmas.
The wilderness around us yielded froths from a
puking snowstorm,
fastening laces of Hell with strings of abundant
sleet.

ODE TO MY FAMILY
A long time ago, I felt something was wrong,
I can't really explain where my life has gone
I care about you all as much as you do me,
if I could let you inside you would see what I see
One thing I have come to learn,
it's not only the booze that makes me burn
There are two people living inside of me,
the one that you know and the other you can't see
I am dual diagnosed, so it’s more complex than first thought,
It means it’s not self-inflicted, I just need more support
This is something I struggle with every single day,
It’s starting to make sense, why I’ve been acting this way
It’s not an excuse, but it’s a reason for sure,
It could be the missing piece that I’ve been looking for
I haven’t given you a Christmas gift yet,
You should know me by now, I would never forget
I thought long and hard what I could give you from me,
Well this year your gift is my sobriety
I will soon be leaving, just one more lap,
Then we can put this behind us and get our lives back
It’s been a long journey on this rollercoaster of mine,
We can finally move on and make up for lost time.

Captive of Love: Ode to the Cocoa Bean
Within your humble shell, a treasure lies,
A sea of flavors, rich and deeply sweet.
An exotic dream beneath the skies,
A love affair no other can defeat.
You capture hearts, eternal in your snare,
A bite, and Eden’s garden comes alive.
Surrender to the bliss beyond compare,
A tangy heaven where our dreams survive.
As simple as life, as smooth as soft silk,
I soothe the ache your fleeting lovers leave.
Dark, white, or fruity, nutty, purest milk,
A joy for passion’s night or Christmas Eve.
Am I enslaved, or simply ever fond?
Is this true bondage—or an endless bond?

fun,
Oh, to be a broken Christmas light
Surrounded by the glitter burning bright,
While dampened by the blanket of the broke.
People look and think you are a joke.
You are alone, surrounded by the life
Of your friends, yet you are here in strife.
You try your best to glow, but you are done.
You sputter, spluck, and suck out all the fun.
They see you glow, just barely being bright,
While all your friends illuminate the night.
They take you out and throw you in the trash.
I see you there, alone among the ash.
The single, sad, and solemn Christmas light.
Left to die, because it wasn't right.
Your little glow was good enough for me.
It made my life a little brighter, see.

Christmas.
Believe the story, the prophet, the myth?
Is it all about festivity, excessive drinking and gifts? About family, relatives coming together that otherwise wouldn’t mix?
Do you see it as a meaning?
Peace on earth, will it ever seriously exist?
Opposing soldiers playing football before sending the bullets flying over the ditch?
Christmas.
A tree in the corner, mince pies, brandy butter, foods so excessively rich?
Is this your Christmas? From your earliest memory to this present itch? Itching to make all things lovely, snow falling, reindeers flying, mistletoe to get that kiss?
Or do you think about the others?
People who’ve never sat with family pulling crackers singing songs? People who live with no money scratching scrapings from used bowls? Should we see it as an opportunity to help the people with no families, the families with no homes?
Christmas.
All the best to you and yours.
Enjoy the festivities but please remember what JC would want you to remember - the forgotten discarded lives of the lost souls.

ode, christmas, family, for her,
Ode to Lua, my dog.
Lua was lost, she was gone.
I wanted to be gone with her.
She was my last, my lost child, my full heart.
Confused I was, I had to get up.
No reason to wake up.
Loneliness crosses my mind.
My soul is empty. Questions and answers.
I don't have my dog.
We crossed together so many bridges, that nobody can understand.
We both climbed mountains,
but we went down.
Black and white, skin and bones.
Dark and light, both together, only one.
Eating a big meal at Christmas time we were.
Sleeping on the edge to nowhere, we warmed each other.
Discovering new cities, new beaches, new horizons. Just me and you.
You were flying into another dimension, and I didn't know.
You talked to me, but I didn't want to listen.
You weren't there the next day.
I will regret the rest of my life.
You, my Lua, my everything, my nowhere to be found, my everything to look for.

allegory, allusion, angel, best
It all starts with a single seed
The earth providing what it needs
For nourishment to survive
And to help it grow and thrive
Into a tall and mighty thick
Beautiful and majestic
Wonder full of pretty grace
That is making its own place
In this world proud and tall
Leaves of color that will fall
Into large crunchy piles
Children jump in with glad smiles
Birds squirrels and chipmunks
Make homes in branches and trunks
Christmas wouldn't look or feel
Right without a tree so real
Decorated beautifully
Making the house more jolly
Young love wouldn't be the same
Without somewhere to carve your name
Or have a picnic of romance
Underneath a leafy branch
Trees have many ways to give
Us all joy. So help them live
A long life without destruction
Remember all their useful functions

ode, light,
Smiles as we light up the Christmas tree
Giggles from little ones sitting on Santa’s knee
Caroling in the newly fallen snow is pure bliss
Standing beneath the mistletoe hoping for a kiss
Snowball fights abound in the park
We’ll bake Christmas cookies and drink hot chocolate
Children’s’ faces of joy on the twenty fifth
Wide eyed with wonder as they open their gifts
But the saddest day of the year comes next
Alas it falls on December twenty six
We’ll sadly mark the calendar to start it all over, and then
agonize until it’s Christmas time again.

Merry Christmas Merry Christmas lighten up
Its the birth of Jesus
Go on decorate the tree
Come on lets bake some cookies
Joy is around your family's there with you
Come on let's dance and sing too
Give presents to each other and spread the cheer.
Stay all together and Happy New Year

Twas the day after Christmas
and my jeans? They FIT fit.
I ain't even tripping,
because ALL the food was LIT!
I'm not mad at the scale.
Nope. Not one little bit.
People ask,
"Whatchu get for Christmas?"
I say "just Junk".
They're all completely shocked,
because my answer is
"just so crass!"
I laugh to myself, because
bless their judging hearts,
they have no idea, that
I'm talking about this a$$.
So..., in my mind,
I drop it AND I pop it,
and perform a whole
Burlesque skit,
and all this ceremony,
Is because
my Bread Pudding was LIT!

ode, christmas,
Alice is such a beautiful name.
My grandmother wore it for 98 years.
It speaks of soft whispers and shared secrets,
of lessons in life and how to carry oneself.
I learned to sew, to cook, and keep a home.
She gave me my first Bible, leather-bound
with a small white cross carved in the binding.
It had the softest, lightest brown leather cover
laced all around with white leather trim.
A fancy Bible perhaps, at least I thought so.
Inside she inscribed it especially to me.
I treasured it for years.
I have lovingly passed it on.
I miss her sweetness and her quiet ways;
her serene face, bright blue eyes, and
her kind and giving heart.
She never complained or asked for help.
She was strong, independent,
even-tempered, never flustered or shaken.
Our Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving meals,
always at her home, were joyous occasions with family,
and often included those who Pastor said had nowhere
else to be – no home, no family.
There was never too little, always enough, and we
made sure God heard our prayers before eating.
I share the name Alice.
I pray I do it justice.

grandmother, inspiration, inspirational, love,
A lovely December morning like this,
connotes nothing else in our world but bliss.
A time to mine our richest depths of love
on fifth avenue's apartments above.
Every split second is worth a lifetime
with your warm presence in this wintertime.
A kiss from you is like an explosive.
Your lips hypnotize with a corrosive
touch of arousal and sensuality,
bringing heaven on earth to reality.
I will relish the softness of your skin,
like I have never before relished in
our union together as a couple.
We will dine, dance, kiss, romance and cuddle,
because I sure hope to make this December
a unique December to remember.

christmas, love,
In comfort next to you mother,
fifteen Christmas I spent with you,
in time’s orchards fruits picked together,
those fruits now bitter without you!
Tears that run down my pillow,
are tears that will not dry,
With years hope heart will mellow,
I shall try not to cry!

BORN DAY
The red rose may bleed in the pouring rain,
The white flower may die in the mounting storm,
But you blossom in every season,
And flourish in any weather,
Your born day feels like Christmas,
Which looks to me like every day,
Because its a joyful one...blessings abounds,
Grace cascading down...and smiles to cherish,
This paints the picture of your birthday,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear...God bless you in Jesus name. Cheers.
