I thought of all things great and small -
what happens to an apple or a ball.
Maybe, I'll try calculus.  But
can it crack the infinitesimal nut?

Nut Screws And Bolts

Listening to you
oh what a to-do
it looks like
you've come unglued
or going bananas
your psyche's addled the mind muddled
brain's fogged boggled or befuddled
is something missing
a marble or two
perhaps a loose screw
maybe more than a few
and making a run
or bolt for it
will never do
it's not too late
to join the inmates
for as well you know
you will still be there
wherever

A Tough Nut to Crack

Violet Smith lived in Center Kingdom. Her neighbors were Jack and Jill;
Like orange sun, of a pink morning, when it's just peeking over blue hills.

With Mother and Father and sister, Ava, Violet enjoyed life on Sage farm;
Just as lilac breezes, from out of the south, only rove to keep you warm.

The Smile of a Nut-Brown Squirrel

A nut-brown squirrel wore his smile in a curl,
such a clever one was he.

He ate nuts and fruit in his nut-brown suit
in my avocado tree.

He gave me such lip, and never did tip,
and ate my harvest for free.

A Tough Nut to Crack

I met a puzzle and conundrum.
His name is "Why Am I Becoming Dumb",
A diabolically a tough nut to crack,
both he and I are poised for attack. 
I'm pretty sure I'll crack him, but
he thinks that it's I who is the nut.

Nuts are food for brain
Planners, scientists need it
Not to go brain drain.

Banana Nut Bread Musings

Banana-nut bread
Sliced
Carried in the hand 
All through the house

Crumbs 
Dropped along the way
I wonder how long a mouse
Could survive on the crumbs

You would think
Slice, place on a plate
Get a fork
Sit down, eat and enjoy

But no
Carry it in the hands
All through the house
Is the best way to go

Fanatical fan
Surfing waves of emotion
Make or break my day!

Fighting Over the Nut

Gray ground squirrel and toughie buffie elf both wanted the nut.
It’s is mine! Yelled the elf. Squirrel knocked him with his butt.
I say it’s mine! The elf insisted, persisting hoping squirrel would leave.
Instead that motorcycle squirrel showed him his tough guy tattoo sleeve.

I guess we could share it the elf suggested, reluctantly.

A Brazil Nut

Betty came from Brazil,
She refused to take the pill,
She had a dozen kids,
Lived life on the skids,
Now she is over the hill.

Tomboy

Skirt and blouse - rejecting tomboy
Is never the cringing coy:
Very early dumps every toy
And her milky but effeminate soy, 
Cheerily ever for the boyish,
Forswearing everything girlish…

A sex-change operation hopeful
And male-fun partaker in full:
Never the allergic to drinking contests
And exclusive-to-males protests:
Not when she has got her throaty bellow 
And could say A Pure Rebel’s Hello!

Cleary not

Not Without a Washer

Something minute had been carefully tucked away, it was a nut
Got loose, rolled helplessly away, had no direction afraid, she shut
Her eyes, and slowly rolled towards a destined force,
An eager bolt nearby bolt gave her the eye, she thought to pause,
She looked at him said hi, but continued to roll and to strut,
The bolt flirted

Nutty

recalcitrant nut
will not yield its hidden heart
resists invasion
patience gone where is hammer?
walnut obliterated.
