Nut Cake

No time to worry over cavities 
Under these circumstances—
Temptation has surfaced 
Caution slips away like weak dentures
Answering desire—
Kindled peanuts 
Ensconced in ginger syrup.

Dear Trina, Congrats on POTW. I just love the playful spirit in your words"Weak dentures" slipping away feels like a perfect metaphor for letting go, even if just for a moment. It made me think about the small joys we often deny ourselves, they're the ones that truly brighten a day. We should all give in to a little sweetness, at least every now and again!
