Image result for picture of mouse eating in a house

Banana-nut bread Sliced Carried in the hand All through the house Crumbs Dropped along the way I wonder how long a mouse Could survive on the crumbs You would think Slice, place on a plate Get a fork Sit down, eat and enjoy But no Carry it in the hands All through the house Is the best way to go I know the mouse thinks so...
I have not seen a mouse in the house in a long time, but there always could be an uninvited guest roaming around at the quiet crepuscular time of day.

Hello Sara, How utterly charming this creative work is. Humour, wit, irony permeate this Other poem. Well done Howard

Lol, Sara. The tantalizing title led to mouth-watering expectations, being a favorite of mines. Fortunately, 'twas an entertaining exposé and a tad mouse envy, my friend. Aloha, William

such a delightful tale of a potential mouse in your house. The title drew into your site. I can see a timid little mouse carrying a tiny speck of banana bread. We haven't had mice in years. When we first moved into our current home, open fields were behind us. When cold weather arrived, they gravitated to our warm garage like iron shavings to a magnet...not any more thankfully. Enjoyed the read, Ms. Sara. Have a lovely evening, the other Sara

This is so cute! I would not want to leave a trail for a mouse and yet does this speak of deeper things! Hugs ~ Kim (Fave)

If there's anything I hate and almost fear, is mice. Lovely picture. I am always on the lookout. Great poem. Blessings.

Victor, Thanks for the blessings. I need them every day. I think most people don't like mice/a mouse/field mouse/mice/ and especially wharf rats. Sara K

That's b/c it's not really a mouse, Sara. It's a 'fraidy-cat!' lol. Smiles, Gershon

Thank you, IE. Those little creatures can wreak havoc if they happen to get into a food storage cabinet. I hope I never see one again inside my house. My cat died and I have not gotten another one and I probably need to do so, but cats will eat all the birds they can get, and I enjoy the birds. Maybe another solution to eliminating them outside in the fields. Maybe I need to get a hawk to handle that job. Thanks for the nice review of my work and I appreciate the light. Sara K

Beautifully written poetry, Sara; your images and imagination bring to life a difficult problem that we all encounter. Mouses are intelligent rodents that dwell wherever people do.

Thank you, Lasaad. LOL..Yes, they are intelligent. I read that if they come into your home and the only food that they find available are in low nutrients, they will leave and seek some other source of food. LOL..They love dog food and, also, cheese. Thanks for your kind review of my work. Sara K
