You eat what you are fed
whatever might pass for food.
You don't question it,
you choose to be complacent.
Behind the scenes
there's a monopoly,
a conspiracy to get rich
feeding you whatever
can enrich their greedy pockets.
Your health will pay the true price
of proactive due diligence.

There once was a man named Dan
rather tall handsome and tan
the girls all did swoon
when Dan chose to croon
not a songbird could even compete.
Though Dan was a man, yes indeed,
came some warnings he chose not to heed,
he was virile and strong
and life rolled along
till this sign appeared visibly.
No chance anymore he'll ignore
time to see the Doc for a cure.
Turns out the Doc starts to laugh,
you are naive my dear young chap,
no reason to panic you see,
just a stiffy, is all it would be!
The news provide harsh lessons.
I was so naive about politics & politicians.
It's not about creating a better world.
Where did I ever get that idea?

You never know who you'll meet

Once there was a girl so small,
Innocent, naive,
She saw the good in everyone,
Too trusting to believe.
She looked up high to figures bright,
And learned what they had shown:
To pray, to trust, to kneel in faith,
And never stand alone.
She grew into the “good girl,”
Applauded, calm, and mild,
Not broken, lost, or unaware,
Just quiet as a child.
In a world of rules, reward and pain,
She learned to stand still,
She learned that order kept her safe,
And silence bent her will.
She stayed prayerful, haters around,
Yet chose to make no sound,
Believing storms would always pass
If silence could be found.
Just an ordinary girl,
With a gentle, fading smile,
The kind you barely remember
After a little while.

If anyone believes everything they hear they are very naive
but there are many things in this world people don’t believe.

Pluck me a dandelion child of God
place it in a vase and admire it !
Its just as pretty as the golden rod
and also quite potent I must admit
Believe in its charm like an infant
and trust it will light up your room
Treat it with love and though nesceint
the colors of it, will surely enfume
An original beauty now its your call
tell it your secrets, it listens to you !
From seed to flower never a puffball
a twist of your hand and its feverfew
Trust in the power of this little wild flower
it grows bravely for you and it never cowers.
Chose a Title; Naïve Faith, Sponsor – Edward Ibeh – 8-27-25

Naïve Faith
Callow faith walks with wide eyes
In playgrounds littered with stark cunning
When adorned innocence
Seeks to soar where angels fly
Not blinded by fool’s gold
Nor looted by evil’s glittery tinsel
Or minds darkened by drugs of ebony
That plagiarizes honesty
With rationalized temptations
In ravished glamour.
Artless faith, clothed by incorruptible purity,
Shivers when simplicity senses
A wrinkle in infinity -
Guileless belief skirts gullible’s traps
Clothed in a gift of sight.
When beastly motives
Try to sideswipe honesty
With glitz and jewels of paste
Dangling shiny promises with dark underbellies
Naive faith, clothed in discernment,
Sees with candid clarity.
The rose still blooms despite attacks
By mold or mildewed rust
The sun still wakes the dawn
Even when eclipsed
Crowned by a faultless corona
As stars refuse to enter black holes
Faith embraces the innocent.
When 'Faith' is naive,
It hurts and is void of wholeness
It pretends to, but doesn't heal
When 'Faith' is naive,
It refuses to search and question
It offers what it cannot deliver
When 'Faith' is naive,
It promises power and prosperity
It does not prize common sense
When 'Faith' is naive,
It does not promote examination
It poses a position of strength
When 'Faith' is naive,
It borrows from multiple religions
It produces dependency and weakness
When 'Faith' is naive,
It blinds the brain
and binds the soul
When 'Faith' is naive,
Beware the origin of its conception
Resist the power of its deception
When 'Faith' is naive,
It is empty of valuable substance
It is filled with desire and disappointment
Neither adequate experience nor knowledge
Attention to detail is essential to faith
Individuality bows to the group
Vanity should be dismissed
Engage and embrace God
Futility is the fruit of deception
Authority must have its foundation
Intimacy with God is central and essential
Time must be given to the object of our faith
Holiness is the fruit of true faith in Christ
In the still of dawn, tears fall, heartbroken
Sorrows murmur of the past’s distant dread
Words won’t come and the fear goes unspoken
As my soul seeks, unsure of what’s ahead
My mind wanders to light I can soak in
Knowing my soul will read those things unsaid
Singing grace through the night’s quiet shadows
And tears play in the verses I compose
In the silence, where wind reflects Fall’s praise
Blows gentle rhythms of faith, hope and love
Praying to the One who’ll always amaze
When He’s with me, there comes peace like a dove
There is music in the warmth of His gaze
Singing grace that will lead to heaven above
Whatever comes, despite the worst I’ve known
He promised me I’ll never be alone
In the breath of kindness that comes from Him
I’m sure that this love is His greatest gift
This is love that will last, it’ll never dim
It prepares me for the light who’s adrift
Seeking from me, this praise so like a hymn
In the air, grace and wonder come so swift
Because I know Him who blesses my soul
With Him, there’s a promise I’ll be made whole.
Perhaps I'm naive, perhaps I'm deceived, but I read the depths of you,
Perhaps I'm patient, perhaps I'm silent, but I watch every step you take,
Perhaps I'm flawed, as you say, but I placed a coin on your dream,
And I don't recall a moment you were there to support me.
I don't remember you holding my hand and telling me it's okay,
When the sky was collapsing on us, and silence slowly parted us,
It's too late to think I was foolish to let you go far away,
When my heart was a battlefield of losses in your shadow.
In the stream of my consciousness, rivers of dreams flow, whispers of light,
And I wonder if you ever felt my heart beating for you,
When I embraced you as a mystery of the night, with the desire to keep you,
Now, in the silence of despair, I learn to rebuild my path to light.
Just as the moon embraces the sea and tells its tale to the waves,
I embraced you with all the strength of my heart, without you knowing,
Now I understand that love is not just a whispered story, but a song,
That you must write with your soul until it becomes eternity.
