Sunrise In the Wolds

When the sun rises and spreads
its sticky yellow syrup across green marzipan fields
I rub the bees from the fragrant holyhock bells
and sniff the nectar.

I pull each cup to drink the breakfast dew
and taste summer mornings paste
then hear a fly buzzing by.

Trees are heavy with laden aprons of
sappy boughs, thick with unopened fruit,
Unable to set the table or move their loaded limbs.

In this warm, breathless, first blush,
slurping down the booty of the day,
inebriated in a fine stirred brew of Yorkshire hemp,
I blink to see my dreaming fairyland alive,
and paying tribute lift to toast the ride.

Thoughts

Echoes of the past
Lost in the passage of time,
Shadows that grow with the fading light, cast,
Morphing into erroneous snippets, spurious and serpentine,

Troubled hearts of misplaced cares,
Focusing more on beguiling schemes,
Instead of compassion, empathy, consciousness, or being aware,
Aware of the loss of self, of mind, of hope, of dreams,

We are all blind, deaf, and dumb,
the death of reasoning makes one succumb,

Who knew emptiness could have such weight?
That silence can drown you in sound?
That access to knowledge would cause wisdom to asphyxiate?
That ease would cause contentment harder to be found?

Progressions that prolong ones agony,
A few more moments that will be forgotten,
battling against objects, that kill the memory,
before the black consumes, swallowing all in,

What should one do, to keep hope near when the facts are grim?
Already bruised knees hit the floor, begging for strength, while talking to him.

Crazy Rhyme

A rhyme in time

Should surely not be full
of fillers

Otherwise what's the point

Of bringing up the very point
in the first place

Might as well just talk to the wall

And call a cab

Without ever knowing where
you are going

Or searching again for something
sought yet well knowing it
was long last lost

Like drinking Cognac from an
old stained tea cup with cracked
handled waiting for it to break

Or a second hand on sale wedding
cake whom the baker forgot to
include the marzipan

For is not life nothing short of
reducing the cost of all our
stupid mistakes

Before they drive us crazy

Thinking

What the hell we're we thinking

Makes no sense

Rhyme or reason

Honey ... you
     Sweet on my tongue
          Licorice and almond eyes
              Dark hellos, darker goodbyes
                 Begetter of my sugar rush
                   Such corporeal candy crush
Thighs and sighs to heaven's hush
Lush, to wonder just how deep
                 Oh so slowly, tenderly
              Love me fast to sleep
          Hard sin, saccharine
     Very confectionery ...
My Marzipan.

The Sweet Toothed Pirate

I sail on an ocean of custard and jam
Aboard a ship made of biscuits and bread,
I am the sweet toothed pirate I am,
And clearly not right in the head.

Nebulous streams clouding my brain
Give me some peculiar thoughts,
I wear a vest made of liquorice sticks,
And a pair of marzipan shorts.

With my motley crew of gingerbread men
Who are armed to the teeth with balloons,
We go round the world kidnapping cakes,
While we gorge on sweet macaroons.

Friendship In the Fall

Friendship in the Fall

Maple leaves lime yellow,
see through claret red
paved the way and led us to conversations of losing all our teeth
 but still bleating for cake.

 Cake as creamy as the
lusty browns and chiccy chocolate hues
that line a wavy iced canal.

We gum grimace at the thought of losing teeth.
 Reflecting each others
squinting eyes and mashing gnashers.
 Leaves fall into wreaths
around our feet beneath the lashings
 of crazy fondant marzipan,
 there is a plan.

Of two aging women still dynamic in the falling Fall.
A cake made in the Autumn of our decades warmed with laughter of friendship tears amidst the swirling leaves of future years.

Lawn furniture flavored ice cream
	served in moxa cups
Candied eyes of freshwater bream
	pickled bushdog pups.

Pig pizzle wrapped around a stick
	grilled upon the deck
Woven rope with cat head and brick
	hung about your neck.

Marzipan violin bowed by a stoat
	badminton played widdershins
A toast of poison without antidote
	barefoot on needles and pins.

Mothers Menu Mmm

Many memories of my mother
making moist mellow macaroons
marshmallows and Madeira cake,
minuscule madeleines, marvellous,
mum measures, marinates, melts,
more majestic meals.
My matriarch makes,
marmalade,
marzipan,
muffins,
mincemeat,
meringue.
mousse.
My meritorious mom mixes, merges, mingles,
melon,
mango,
mulberries,
Mandarins.
My maternal materfamilias, masterminds
Mealtime masterpieces.

Sweet Thing

Sweet Thing

A butterfly whispers a solitaire kiss
A cinnamon smile in perfect bliss
Honey drips on Marzipan lips
A smile , A dimple , A gentle wisp

Demerara adorns your sweet tongue
I'm so glad you've invited me along

Oh sweet thing
Be mine for evermore
Kiss my cheek and forever
Make my knees weak

thank you

Rough Landscape

In my mind the landscape of Guernica features high on the many
crowbars to unmask that inner prison of conscience and humanity

So many scenes of destruction with no predominant hierarchy of evil
no glass ceiling of guilt so many tapestries of loving lives abandoned

A museum piece in Madrid with no doubt yet an exhibition of madness
displayed on the altar of what we as people have become and behold

Life would not have me nor would I have my life if my father had not
escaped what now is Kaliningrad on one of the last boats ‘cross the sea

As a German court has decreed soldiers are murderers and my Dad
has therefore been one of those martial slayers in history’s temple

There is not much left of the City of Prussian ambition and blasts
from the past just mainly a naval harbour and renegade socialist pride

A rebuilt cathedral and memories of amber and marzipan shared but
I hear Hitler Youths shouting their ‘Heils’ in absurd pubertal screams

For my own sanity and resolution of trans-generational disgrace I need
to visit my beginnings to start telling the story how to scape inner Peace

A Strange Wedding Cake

Indeed, a strange wedding cake!
This is real strange, I must say.
You must absolutely hear this, I pray.
Almond marzipan, on stands masked with black chocolate;
Candy laces and ribbons made its beautiful garbs.
I ponder; why in God’s name, eat all these carbs!
Seriously, are these black Fondant roses I see here?
Quite an evolution from our traditional bride’s pie!
Well…what does this imply?
Dreading a wedding life with dark future
or does it symbolize breaking off with past lovers;
Invited surely to take the party's leftovers!
As the knife cut through innocent white,
dark jelly oozes out and trickles down the levels,
staining the spotless damask into perfect designs of devils!
Red marmalade takes its turn to flow down into rivulets.
The bride and the bridegroom poke a finger, each
to share it and I hear a spine chilling screech…
All I see is their demoniac grin as I make it to the exit!

Utterly Nuttily Wedding Cake

Brides name is Hazel Almond,
Her groom is mad about Hazel,
Their wedding cake is a diamond
Shape with pecans at the basal,

Between each layer of Genoese
Is pistachio flavored butter cream
That oozes out when you squeeze
a marzipan covering is their dream,

placed on top the lucky couple
Bride holding her sweet chestnuts
made the guests laugh, chuckle,
at Groom with his hand on her butt,

Frosted with royal icing such skill
Showed by confectioner, Andrew
Patissiere well known in Brazil,
Sprinkled with chopped cashew.

A wedding cake that tasted devine
For a couple of same taste and looks
Without each other would sure to pine
because for each other, they are nuts.

Premium MemberLeap of Fatal Faith

Leap Of Fatal Faith

Another battle fought and the shops are empty
Easter Bunnies in the production line can’t wait
I need money and lots of it for next year’s round

I hereby patent my golden turkey for survival
Little chocolate tank tracks and marzipan bullets
Cream covered shrapnel and gingerbread limbs

Toffee filled bomb shells nougat for camouflage
Sugar iced tent cities and plenty of tin soldiers
Refugees bubble gum boats standing no chance

Wars are for life and not a mess just for Christmas
With my bank account swelling there must be some
Sense in the day after Christmas so jump jubilate

Celebrate at your fatal peril and my sweet surprise
