M 80 Poems - Poems about M 80

I was a toddler when the British bombers tried
to find the airport, they didn't but dropped bombed
on the town of Stavanger instead
I was sent to a farm that happened to be next door
to a German camp near where the Russian
prisoner lived
The German soldier let me sit on their gigantic
and feed scraps to the

D-Day + 80

They came as boys
but left as men.
Their prayers cried,
please not again!!!

When war intrudes
young lives transcend.
Lives marching forth,
as others end.

With hate and vile
come enemies,
to kill and maim;
atrocities.

Can peace prevail
when hatred boils?
The soldier cares
not for the spoils.

American soldiers were never invaders or occupiers. They have always moved as liberators.

MY Collaboration with Ricky Nelson in the Last Days of 1980

The eventful news of that day about what was found on board that crashed plane, won't replace that particular memory of Mr. Rick Nelson's hearty laughing along with his wife, Mrs. Kris Nelson, who maintained some level of dignity, cupped her lips with her

80 - 20

I could write a sonnet
or maybe a play
I could have gone epic
in hopes to relay
What snippets say better
in stations of rhyme
And carry within them
—a power sublime

Damian Stood in the Hugh room
Surveying the expansiveness of
The place. "Yeah, this will be a
Imperial family event in my house.
The judges will be here too.
There were two large tables
The capacity was almost
Immeasurable. Upon Entrance
To the Room a huge star
The Seal of Solomon, made
Of crystal hung high on
The wall

Premium MemberWhen I Am 80 Years Old

I do not have any inkling for a topic of a poem to write on,
When I am 80 years old, it will be a nice poem to say that I am old,
With the lost muse, everything will be come on.

When I am slow at doing my chores, I tell my kids, I am getting old,
They

I Reached 80

Since I reached 80 years of life
time has moved too fast but in slow motion
I oftentimes feel embarrassed at what I became
and what I could have been
but old men dream more of the what could have beens

Not what they became

That truth is oftentimes embarrassing
but not in your case, my son
you

Welcome to the world precious, little Kent Lee.
We are so glad that you made your way to us.
Though it was a roundabout way, as you can see,
You came into this world with very little fuss.

You have brought joy to all who you see before you
And we will surround you with nothing but love.
Throughout your life,

80 Years

80 years since I was born,
now in old age my sight is shorn
but in a cruel world of pain
there’s hesitation to complain,
for always standing at the door
are worse examples of life's gore.

I had my time to view the joy
to start ascent when as a boy
I first climbed paths to those high peaks
where love

80

I hope by the time I’m 80
I’d have written a million notes to you
Pieces I’d read to myself in secret
And feel the passion fan my youth to flames
Septuagenarian
I hope to your features, I’m no alien
I hope your body still yells my name
I hope your fire never stops coursing my veins
Even at sixty
Still

Sir Paul Turns 80

I was a Paul girl way back when;
Read every magazine.
His face was plastered on my walls,
Like every Beatles teen.

I screamed my head off watching
When they showed up on TV.
It was the greatest thing that ever
Happened, then, to me.

I bought each record, saw each film
And followed his career.
That first infatuation
Didn’t fully disappear.

Today Sir Paul turns

How simple are the circles in which life turns
How strange are its tangled fingers
Through intricate woven tapestry burns
The wonder that yet lingers

Interstate 80 Des Moines Iowa January of 1981
I was driving a new red Mustang with T-tops
I felt sizzling hot

Everyone ahead of me was inching along
What is wrong with all these OLD people?
I raced around them

I had never heard of black ice
And now I was its victim.
My Mustang flew off Interstate 80

I was upside down, ready
