Premium Member Persuasive Powers

I remain both surprised and alarmed
when revolutionary entrepreneurs,
AltRight survivalists,
poor and terrified AfricanAmerican and Hispanic young adult U.S. males,
     and females,
and the National Rifle Association
vociferously agree with Chairman Mao
"Power is found at the end of a gun."

While alarmed
because violence breeds further mindless violence,
I continue to be surprised
because even a child could notice
Power originates from Earth's revolving
and enlightening
relationship to the Sun.

All other points of origin
are secondary,
derivative,
and perhaps not to be made too anthro-centrically much of.

Premium Member Still a Brave New World Ahead - Cloning, Eugenics Not Dead

Is government control of humans’ birth, aging, and dying
In century 26, as practiced by a new World State;
Different from 20th century’s use of eugenics,
Which used “fitness” to determine people’s reproductive fate?

A high-tech London, where humans’ material needs are met,
Setting of Aldous Huxley’s, Brave New World, utopian tale;
Sterile world of human cloning and conditioning to castes,
Recreational soma drug and sex use on widespread scale.

In respite from his boss’ – the DHC’s – awkward confessions,
Bernard and Lenina fly to the Savage Reservation.
There they meet Linda and her young adult son, John “the Savage”,
Fathered by DHC 20 years before, on vacation.

Bernard publicly presents Linda and John to DHC,
Bringing Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning [DHC] down.
DHC flees from “sin” of involvement in natural birth.
Bernard and new celebrity, John “the Savage”, gain renown.

Finally, John rejects the soma, sex, and clones of London,
Spurns Lenina’s moves and keeps soma from “lower” Delta caste.
His retreat to do penance draws crowds and curiosity;
Leads to suicide by hanging – John’s perceived freedom at last.

This Brave New World’s parallels to eugenics cannot be lost,
Since, in both cases, the state had a hand in who lives and dies.
American Breeder’s Association, “better babies,”
Forced sterilizations – how U.S. eugenics took its guise.

Human cloning now – gene, reproductive, or therapeutic –
Raises a host of ethical, moral, and other issues.
Somatic nuclear transfer to clone human embryos
Evokes Brave New World’s ‘soma’ in copying people’s tissues.

Eugenics – legal in U.S. until 1970’s;
Its dehumanizing nature gone from society’s norms?
With current human cloning research, genetic ‘shopping’, more,
No one’s safe ‘til humankind is respected in all its forms.

Family Love Lesson

I'm lost for words, do I suppose to feel this way about my detached family
Mother and brother with their weird dynamic duo relationship
My father has a whole another family or two he's managing
Perplexed by my young adult children with their selfish ways towards me
My love has been taken for granted; betrayed by conditional lovers
I loved them unconditionally with all my heart still to this present day
The way I've been treated, had me to become numb to silent
The DNA test seems only good for ancestry or hidden family connections
"Blood thicker than mud" is just an illusion to me when it comes to my family
I would have been more relieved if I was adopted; detachment explained

At this present time I'm homeless without any genuine help
My mom want me around because she's lonely a lot of the times
My father lost for words most of the times we converse
Brother want me around to show off and brag about what I don't have
Daughter want me around for emergency baby sitter for her children
Son locked up and need me to keep account with commissary monies
I asked out loud, "Why would I be in a family dynamic like this"
The energy is heavy and draining when I'm in any of there presence
Knowing I deserve better, but not feeling spiteful or resentment
My family was all I knew; now realizing I have to let them go

Lesson that love is not suppose to cause pain, confusion or revenge
Lesson to stop love from being the core for change in my world
Lesson how forces work through your family to discredit love
Lesson of dark generational curse to stray me to hate for self destruction
Lesson for a practice run to prepare for a family life I deserve
Lesson to destroy me as a soul with love for humanity(unity)
Lesson for hate to be inflicted to weight heavy on my heart
Lesson to give up on love, turn to materialism
Lesson of survival to be an example of a spiritual warrior
It was lessons for courage to survive with unconditional love for self/others

Despite the fated lessons still I smile with gratitude
Evolution at its finest as lessons stimulate my growth to remain in love
All is forgiven; no hard feelings and love(GOD) will always live within me.

My Way His Way

y Way - - His Way

Memory often takes me back
When I recall childhood days
As a loner, I had little competition
I could do things, - - my way

Teenage years - - somewhat the same
Just more work, but less play
I felt that I was doing fine
I could still do things, - - my way

As a young adult, I began to question
Was there perhaps, a need to pray
Was there something more in life
Than doing things, - - my way

Reading God's Word, revealed to me
My body, was nothing more than clay
His Spirit, helped me realize
Perhaps I should consider, - - His way

As conviction drew me to His side
I knew His Word, was more than a cliche
I knew it was best that I surrender
And let Him have, - - His way

As I reflect back or'e the years
I rejoice that I still can say
The greatest choice I ever made
Was letting Him have, - - His way

Fragmented Reflections (Shards of The Soul, #3)

Dysfunctional young adult,
From a shattered home I was bred.
Seeking connection, wanting solitude,
Lost in moonlight, tears I shed.

Lines are blurred, days a whirl,
Court cases, too many made me hurl.
Father unknown, Dad called me a bastard,
And my school struggles labeled me a retard.

Mum's been gone, ran away they say,
With Michael, my father, a business powerplay.
Who's my dad, Danilo or Michael?
Someone told me, but my mind was in a pickle.

Michael moved in, Mum's love grew,
But I was lost in translation, with Bronx in view.
Far from home, missing Aiden's smirk,
And Leo and Matt, keeping him from being a jerk.

I needed help, a saviour to find,
Drowned in disabling waters called my mind.
Some nights I woke choking on air,
Longing for an end, life wasn't fair.

Hailey...
You were my guiding light,
Strongest in town, showing all males might.
Your mother loved you, her aurantia grew,
You loved them dearly. I miss you.

But then...
That man left you in pain,
Bloodied your face, a sinister stain.
I must explain, I never lost the race,
But he took my place, leaving a trace.

I didn't stand for it, I had him outed,
For you and me, I screamed and shouted.
Ran through halls in a relentless pursuit,
I grabbed my knife, justice to execute.

Body hidden in a neighbour's basement embrace,
Needed a new suit, for my soul had been disgraced.
But that was the price for hurting Hailey, you see,
There was no escape, you should have feared me.

Because I'm Max Narak!
Run fast unless I'll come back!
Giving those that deserve it pain,
Seeing it through that you are slain.

It is I, Maximus Lee Narak!
Giving my enemies panic attacks!
Prescribing their daily doses of pain,
Respectable trophies make their brains...

Premium Member Lollipop Splish Splash Cotton Candy Crush

Lollipop splish splash Cotton candy crush.
Light pink balloon fitting into her abstract chair
Sitting herself down she turned to the early seventies

Bell bottom hip hugger blue jeans fitted tight to her knees
She felt sassy and sexual, straight to her young adult self
She stared into the night, seeing her canvas for tomorrow

Lollipop splish splash Cotton candy crush
The circus and the ferris wheel could have come by
But not garnered any more attention

She stared into the soft pinks of the candle
Mesmerized, and full of spiritual happiness
Loving every corner and nuance of her life.

It is your time, her guides told her.
Dance your truth, delight in your ability to sing
Paint a masterpiece; do not be afraid to be abstract and yourself

She sat back in the sling back chair
Staring into the candle, feeling her power animals surround her
The deer, the eagle, the wolf and the raccoon. Best time ever!

The mother duck and her ducklings bond tenderly
The mother cat and her kittens purr contentedly
The mother dolphin frolics with her calf ceaselessly---
Instincts axiomatic emerge, so very naturally.

The schoolgirl gives her sandwich to a friend in need
The young boy lends his grandpa a hand so genteely
The donor proudly gives an organ to the amputee---
Altruistic acts of kindness, performed ever so graciously

The newborn babe brings joy and hope to all quite effortlessly
The young adult strikes out on his own undauntedly
The longtime employee retires from his workplace so tearfully---
The Heaven-bound count their blessings as they turn expectantly

To join those who left this Earth before them, proclaiming truthfully
In solemn asseveration: Nearer my God to Thee...

Life Cantata

How does the music flow?

Subtle single soprano notes and chorals sing out
in whispered melodies, blustery bravado mix doubts
when one tenor voice begins its solos on the rise
blending with the symphony surprise.

At first comes the birthing lullabyes
raising smiles and laughter to a mother's eyes
followed quickly by the growth spurt years
with know it all, rebellious tessitura teenage tears.

A young adult determined to be a trembling soloist
with every decision made too fast, too quickly confessed
in life's lover, warrior, passaggio falsetto blessed
wavering in decisions and earlier dream quests.

Mid life crisis drops us each to our knees
in lack luster timbre bass keys
of pain and loss upon a lifelong analogue
marked high and low with vocal pedagogue.

Time is faded and easily slipping away
contralto hymns flow deep and low yet never stay
as the background orchestra continues the sacred cantata
of life's moments culminating in our final sonata.

Premium Member Remember My Youth Compare It Now

I lived in the early-mid 70s so very different
being a lonely soul not socially active
lived in the countryside with not a friend
didn't really mind it as made me selective

This was me living my teens/early 20s
loved going to Wimpy bar in the night
after tea drove into town for coke or two
drive back on own this being my plight

When had a lunch break at work during the week
frequent local music shop nearly every day
loved to see what's pop to suit my taste
got posters Blondie, Kate Bush and ONJ

Put them on bedroom wall to gaze upon
sleep away think dreaming on each one
loved local movie house there often
Grease was fab great tunes bar none

It's incredible how things have changed
now musically classical's my top tune
never been to the cinema for 30 years long
till last week for Mary Poppins return with balloon

Now my drink bar is Costa Coffee
still lonely soul at times but my wife
Christine's my best friend eases my load
still, stammer as have all of my life

Big difference now God is with me
never to leave for Jesus sets me free

(Writing a poem describing myself as a teenager/young adult (early 20's)...then being descriptive about my present state for your last few stanzas.)

A Decreed Promise

To recall the response to a test I had taken
I thought they were lying or even faking
That I was going to have a child
All I could do was turn wipe tears and smile

Doctor had told me long ago I would not be able to conceive
To my knowledge it only will take a seed
Time to say Yes; mommy time to be
A choice was given and chosen turned to me

Said that this will be a shift in your life
A beautiful baby boy who would stand and be quite
A handful full of laughter and full of joy
Hold on you will be cleaning up toys

There will be times you may not understand
remember when he walked late
but late couldn't stand a chance
How He began to pull down everything
just like you he held a note and began to sing
Tunes through the house to wake up everyone
Yes he is, he is your son

He is only five now and have many more years to turn
But what you have been given is the time to be concerned
He loves you now and forever will
a perfection of growth honesty progression of will

He will be determined to be an awesome child
Until the turn from young adult to a man's manly smile
remembering all that you have done
teaching and training him in ways as a kingdom given son

Remembering how you both were on the brink of death
soothed by an armor dressed to thy self
making sure the messenger had to take away his hands
destiny was promised prophetically proclaimed across the land

across the seas and galaxies of an all knowing One
set in stone to bring to pass the birthing of your son
remember always until the counting of the stars in the sky
like Abraham the father of nations a guaranteed good bye

a successor to pass on was given to you a son who the Father always knew
he would fulfill the call
the son of His son crossed line boundaries which blew
pass rejections doubts and fears

Mother you are a mother who stood still!
