Premium Member My Cup Runneth Over

My cup runneth over at age seventy-eight
Will it ever slow down to give me a break

Thought ahead when I was a younger man
Love in my seventies was not in the plan

However in my mind I'm as active as ever
Always can be found searching for pleasure

Pleasures we dream from a very young age
Like a male of the species locked in a cage

Wanting so badly to explore the landscape
All too soon our manly prowess escapes

We resign to the fact our bodies can't perform
As when our youthful stamina was norm

Minds are still active as they were back then
But the body's changed, takes longer to ascend

It's all part of life, this unparalleled journey
But we manage to survive all the topsy-turvy

Mankind In Dreamland

Pestered
and
pursued
by
unknown
foes
A
topsy
turvy
land
where
snakes
could
have
horns
and
cows
can
have
fangs!
Nightmares
in
which
the
day's
stallions
make
mountains
out
of
molehills.

A
chance
to
witness
greek
mythology
like
creatures
for
real
since
dreamland's
a
place
for
the
unreal,
the
surreal.

There
are
hair-
raising
scary
dreams
Beset
with
horrified
yet
silent
screams.

For
us
to
wake
up
pinching
ourselves
and
sigh
with
relief
to
see
neither
tigers
or
elves.

All
in
all,
dreamland's
fascination
for
extraordinary
exaggeration
and
tall
tale
imagination

Where
myth
and
legend
come
to
life
An
amalgam
of
fiction
and
real
strife

Where
assorted
monsters
of
the
mind
reign
supreme
in
the
REM
sleep
of
our
kind

Yet
on
the
other
hand
the
sweet
sweet
dreams
where
fantasies
form
mirages
bordered
by
fanciful
seams

where
castles
in
the
air
float
gently
down
to
earth
only
to
shoot
back
up
nowhere
from
the
awakened
one's
berth.

Dreamland's
a
great
place
for
a
princess
and
fairytale
fair
for
daydreams
extend
into
midnight
and
linger
on
there.

Yet
a
quote
I
took
to
heart
and
here
would
love
to
share
'that
if
your
sweet
dreams
don't
come
true,
don't
you
fret
coz
atleast
your
nightmares
didn't
come
true
either!''
That
oughtta
console
all
and
sundry
Yeah
go
on
heave
relief's
phew
sigh!

Oh The Flowers !

Sponsor	Tom Woody
Contest Name	Alice Through The Wormhole

Flowers outside the schoolroom grew bigger and brighter of their own volition. " Alice, Alice !" the teacher called. All she saw was a saucer eyed girl sitting, staring out the window. Sober as a Deacon she sat there with her mind blow-stitched to the earth. Fireworks burst in the sky as a big purple blubber bounced out "Alice, Alice" ssssssssss was the sound it made as it cupped out O with a sticky jelly mouth.
he was from outer space
unlike her own race
he was soooo, gooey gooey!!!
A slight change in atmosphere and suddenly Alice fell topsy-turvy into a dark hole.  Exotic energy clung to her as she spun out of control and dropped into an inter-stellar tunnel filled with brilliant stars. Faster than the speed of light she travelled into a non existent wormhole.  A sweet little paper plate with eyes, nose and mouth greeted her on the other side. He spoke the infographics of his knowledge to her, sending shock waves of pleasure to her extra-sensory perception with telepathic communication;
Lost in gravity waves
time dilation ...
She arrived safely.
Oh the flowers, the flowers were everywhere! Each specific tessitura sang to her in baritone, soprano, mezzo soprano and tenor. It was an elevation of the highest senses. Through vertical angles the sound was outsourced, so she listened with continuum " Alice, Alice " is what they sang in chorus. She tried to determine where the melody was coming from but deep down she knew that this heavenly music was an extension of her and them. Oh what a sweet tonality it was. Both subdued and energetic at the same time. As the galaxies split, the tidal forces merged together and suddenly it made no difference where she was or how she got there. All she knew was she was finally home !

The End.

Premium Member Blue Eyes, Red Wine

The day my life went all topsy turvy,
Was day I had an affair with a beauty,
Ah, Blue eyes are a weakness of mine,
And Christmas party was full of wine!

That day started like any other day,
work and home, nothing else to say,
showered and dressed in party mood,
Looking for an evening like any dude!

I must have seen her or she saw me,
eyes found each other in office party,
She floated her body at disco pace,
Her blue blue eyes, fixed on my face!

She was young and I guessed thirty,
I acted decent yet was for her thirsty,
Wine and music both lead us astray,
Together in bed, than another day!

At breakfast table the next morning,
Exhausting night and still yawning,
Found her Spanish, her name Isabella
unhappily wed to an old fella!

Something more I learnt of the lass
She was married to my tyrant boss!
The day my live went topsy turvy,
Was the day I went to the office party!

The day my life went whacko!

Gibbering Jabbering Gibberish Haint No Recipe To Sound Glib

Ofttimes yours truly assiduously tries to adlib,
but blubbers like a landlubber
at sea treading water donned with bib
(that doubles as yellow
spongy bobbing life jacket)

furiously doing doggy paddle
riding the next tidal wave
hoop fully washing me ashore to crib
if need be to dig an underwater channel
painstakingly slow drabs and drib.

The English language I simply adore
though offtimes methinks waxing eloquent
affects listeners as yours truly a bore
in record time flapping waxed lips
beholds one gordian
tongue tied knot major chore,
whereby I wanna bolt out figurative door
feeling deplorable and stuck
analogous to Eeyore.

Ache 'n to launch into a monologue
or chime into ongoing dialogue
me noggin off times generates brain fog
mental state mimicking one,
who quaffed an over abundance of grog,
which for this teetotaler would constitute

a mere thimble full of drink,
perhaps rum enhanced eggnog
just one sip and boing I go
topsy turvy as if a felled log
hit me over the head
rendering me unconscious.

Thus wood explain mine altered state
though unsightly gash on pate
battle scar leveled playing field
with the missus, 't other significant primate
supplementing and complementing
one aging long haired

pencil (vane ya) necked geek
being caged, yet free
to roam within human zoo
both, (née all) of us captive
on carousel of time
nsync with every other *****sapien
begot to participate in circle game.

All superfluous joking aside,
I strive to groom conversation,
whereby uninterrupted flow of words
(versus fumfering, hemming, hawing,
stammering, stuttering...), thine

general oral feedback paradigmatic guide
ever diligent to think
before I speak with pride
else I heep discourtesy
upon myself and chide
yours truly with harsh rebukes,

which maybe tantamount
going off the mountainside
plummeting into the abyss
engenders an unpleasant
metaphoric roller coaster ride,

and if crash test dummy doth survive -
upon gibbet he will be tried
punishment broadcast world wide
for flagrant horrendous verbal
egregiousness (waywardness) he belied.

Don'T Quit Your Daydream

There are altered realities
inside hearts that just want to dream
and I can't blame them nor fault them
since their escapist deflections
are only a result of a topsy-turvy world
gone mad;

Light your imaginary wick and join
the fable world of the beings of delusion
opt for a daydream or two
These are challenging times
and sometimes it can get too much

Go ahead and pluck another plum from your
fantasy tree.
Join our repertoire of fantastical daydreams
it's hard living in a stark world of mainstream events,
come inside our world of make believe

it will bring you great reprieve.

Two young souls greet with eyes along the way,
A gentle light begins to glow outright,
No simple words can really convey
The solace they experience with delight.

A flaming feel flows from their cheerful glance,
An unseen thread binds from depth of their heart,
Weaving dazzling day dreams as in a trance,
A promise from each other not to part.

The world may turn topsy-turvy and sway,
                                                     But here a trusted truth truly resides;
They share together the task of the day
Where unfaltering love fails not, but hides.

Such soulful love, the world may rarely see,
A perfect fit for all eternity.

Does the Grade Cricketer need a Bard?

Ex pat Pom loving aplomb & many a flickering F bomb of the OG.. GC at the G

No spin larking bickering barking larrikins clearly hear the din of fans chagrin

The culprits the ex players pundits in their pampered and champered pulpits

I want baggie green spleen to be vent outside the oh so privileged pro tent

Your spectacular curvy vernacular is the quip fillip in times so topsy turvy

Cricket’s pervy badgers nervy starved of nuanced narratives..like Test scurvy

The game increasingly nihilistic your ballistic bants & rants..holistic chants

Sycophantic semantic antic relishing & cherishing your loquacity, audacity..

Bodacity & sagacity…got them by the gizzards with your verbal blizzards..

Rapacity of skits & gambits..tenacity of wits...our own proverbial Oz Wizards..

Coz boys your ploys are the everyman not fancy dan talisman of fan elan….

Joy envoys of odd bod sod the cricketing Gods run roughshod pod masterplan..

Your reffing gift wrapped in effing & jeffing.. a bucolic vitriolic frolic & tonic!

No fibs his nibs is loving the cut of your jibs….this old timer rhymer pondered

Wondered does cricket's ultimate bastard..The GC.. like Lord Kitchener.. need me..

Saluting a highfalutin cultural calling card.. your own Bard as two become three?

Premium Member PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR ENABLING US TO AMEND OUR WAYS AND OUR DOINGS

August 13 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Jeremiah 7-9

Key Verse – Jeremiah 7:3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR ENABLING US
TO AMEND OUR WAYS AND OUR DOINGS

Praise be to God for enabling us to
amends our ways and our doings while we:
Hear His Word
Hearken to His will
Hold on to His wisdom
Hide inside His watchfulness
Honour His worthiness and winning
Hail His helpfulness midst His work wonders

Jeremiah 8:14 Praise be to the Lord for putting us
to silence because of our:
Terrible transgressions along tarnished testimony
Topsy-turvy task despite trendy toil-techniques
Terrorized temper midst our turbulent turmoil
Treacherous triumph and taunting timidity
Troubled trust along touchy trait

Jeremiah 9:24 Praise be to the Saviour for instructing us
about what delights Him; thus, we must be:
Praising His personhood while prioritizing His presence
Persevering through His power, propelled by His prudence
Pursuing along His pleasure, praying and pleading for peace
Pressing forward unto His perfection, packed with His provisions
Performing by His purpose, producing through His plan’s perspective. Amen!

Imagine That

Imagine a topsy turvy upset
Where humans were pets
President Jack Russell in talks
With terriers from york
Debating about pest control
Keeping humans in control
Women kept for breading and tame
Men kept for hunting and games
Imagine the chaos if dogs ruled
Who'd stop them being cruel
Locking humans in the garden
Barking and beating hard men
Would they prepare the food?
And clean up the poop?
Would dogs walk on two legs?
And humans use all four instead?
Defining humans into pedigrees
A caged human? Set it free
Lassie would be a heart throb
Wellards the highest payed dog
Workin for the BBC company
Barking beyond companionity
Bathrooms wouldn't be invented
Forests for public conveniences
Politics would still be as bad
Even Jack Russells barking mad
Arguing about the price of meat
From butcher dogs superleads
The largest franchise dog bone
Lots of treats to take home
Second place home barkings
Where they get pets bargains
German shepherds policing the street
As the other breeds are too weak
If the topsy turvy world was true
Not differ much from our rule
I think it would be less confusing
As the dogs life is more amusing
