Our first 'Hey'
When we both sat in the rain
When the clouds were quite moody
Yet my eyes were gloomy
We looked at the moon together
And shared our stories with the stars
I gave up on all the pain
And slowly burried all my scars
I fuelled my life with every smile of yours
I loved that you were mine
Will I still get to see the eyes
That look at me and shine
The words you told became my poetry
The songs u chose became my playlist
I called you my precious gift
And I became a treasurer
Never did I notice when the world turned upside down
Never did I ever think, they'd come for my beautiful crown
We were present and we were perfect
But now they'll rob me till I fall
Cuz when you'll be taken away
I'll lose a part of me, after all.
How do I get back up
How do I stand tall
How do I fix a broken string
So you can hear me call
You'll be with someone else
Someone whose love will be your gain
I'll go for another first "Hey",
Finding myself in the same convo all over again
Read this in the form of a lighthouse,a beacon of light and safety.
You
saw me
lost,adrift,
a ship wrecked soul.
you stood on the shore,
a steady beam,a friend's love
so bright.Through the storm's darkest
night you guided me in.Your light a
promise,a sign I could steer home
again.My life,once a wreck,is
whole because you are here.No
devastation could keep me from
your shining care. I reclaim
my future, a beacon of
strength found anew
All because of
you
I stand tall.
I am free
I can be.
To my confidence, I salute the courage to woo
Waiting to patiently act if she won't boo
The peace of nature that define man a fool
Running to woman in sigh of her taken rule
After he has poured out the rehearsed flow
And the shy eyes maintain contact to forcefully glow
Up within the heart, beats fastened mind to wallow
If only but truly the morning would fly grace to follow
And brace up the reviewing night wool
Feeding young and hungry afternoon blood pudding to the full
Till time will have its chance to propose arid knee goes low
Of how it doesn't matter to define MARLIAN: a wolf
Just a switch in time has tagged it "the way we roll"
May be not true that I am one of his kins; ancient Woolf
Meanwhile, the low knee doesn't guarantee a lasting soul
Especially when traveling through the wood
Tough and hungry afternoon won't only boo the hood
But also cheer the hero up to summon the terror
Till every flaw experienced is free of its initial error.
Sunny and her love-object have broken up.
It was a selfie-inflicted wound - a slapdash pic taken,
that like a puzzle, revealed more than intended.
We try and be thoughtful and considerate but
we’ve only recently escaped from captivity.
Perfectly nice people are capable of unfaithful deeds.
Isn’t that what so much of great literature is about?
Our lives are written in disappearing ink,
and it’s not as if all kisses are meaningful.
We stretch for happiness or for fleeting pleasure
- we’re not married and only vaguely committed.
What would tempt you - what could you actually resist at 18?
Or now - but maybe you’re a saint.
they said all you need is love,
but they forgot to mention the mess.
they said it’s a crazy little thing called love,
but it feels more like a fever dream in slow motion.
i keep waiting for modern love to call back,
for the look of love to last longer than three seconds,
for someone to hum can’t help falling in love
without the falling part hurting so much.
i want a sunday kind of love,
the kind where nobody’s rushing to leave,
where i will always love you actually means always,
not just “until i get bored.”
they say you give love a bad name,
but i think love does that just fine on its own.
still, i’d risk it—
every fool for a love moment,
every love story that ends in rewind,
every somebody to love i never find.
they tell me what’s love got to do with it,
and i laugh, because maybe everything,
maybe nothing,
maybe just endless love played too loud on repeat.
i’ve been looking for love in all the wrong places,
waiting for my funny valentine to show up
with no guitar, no roses,
just a quiet crazy in love kind of look
that says, “hey, i get it.”
and maybe one day,
when love is in the air
and not just on playlists,
i’ll finally know what they meant
when they said
love me tender.
Lily White
Being firm and money tight
Headed to the golden sands looking just right
There was Mr. Bourne and his mouth
Packing the cherries to go south
“Young lady what can I do for you?
Maybe a pint filled with my special brew?”
Looking at him
Innocently no sin
“This should be an easy win
Three points in the bag
Upper table move a good brag”
Everything packed away
Mr. Bourne had nothing to say
We are going somewhere to be on top
Develop a winning crop
Feeling sorry and remorse
Not needing to be seen in a porsche
Lily White did not open her net
Cherry pickers score they did not get
As for Lily still in her white
A draw ended the plight
Nothing on the board
Except cherries being stored
For the foxes weekend picking tour
Later on the Red Devils
Went looking for something below their level
Playing inside Aston’s Villa
Still a
Chance to pick off the buzz
And the west ham that never was
Due to a foul
Red Devils Bruno went POW
Before the half ended
Second goal green wood tended
A healthy break in the lopsided war
Turned Aston’s Villa into a boutique store
A hat trick was commenced
Ending the suspense
Aston was done
In a match they fantasied they won
Meet me at the tournament,
Nothing words that goes to my consent.
Yeah, I know that a woman like you should include.
But I already did for you as I conclude.
Every move you make,
are pieces you took that hardly for me to take.
For might not be a careless mistake.
But my defeat made my heartache.
Then we meet again
Place is the same, moves that my game went pain.
Surely as I made your rank rise but I fall for you down.
Then you take my place and place your crown.
Now my Mallory that we been together,
Hope today not sooner we matched, as I defeat.
Though you are my mate, but die in check.
I no longer take it back but to resign and retreat.
— Love, Your Knight,
Nolan Sawyer.

I could feel it building before she even spoke. The pressure in the air, the deep regret. I recognize the look, the shift. It’s strange how familiar it feels. How easily my heart plummets to the floor. How loud the silence grows before everything shatters.
I spend most of my days translating, reading her tone like the weather. I rearrange my thoughts before they reach her, as if one wrong word might detonate the world.
What am I supposed to say when she asks if it’s normal, if the anger is justified? Admit that I flinch sometimes? Admit that I hear my father, incalculable and groundless? No, she’s not asking for the truth; she’s asking to be soothed for what she’s done.
Then comes the warmth, the soft embrace, the breakfast in bed. So I forgive her again, watching her form a trashy mosaic from what’s left of me, my pieces pressed together with cheap glue that never really holds.
It’s not all bad. There are still mornings that feel safe. I stay for those small reprieves, the moments she’s gentle enough to make me question my own memory. I stay to hear her whisper reste avec moi, but I’m not sure I understand the language anymore.
A quiet voice asks if I should go. Give up justifying the cage she’s put me in. Give up waiting for the love she’s saving for someone else. But I’ll stay, if just for the strange comfort of familiarity.
Eldorado
In Sokoto's land of ancient pride,
A miracle unfolded, your birth inside,
A mother's vision of a daughter dear,
Yet, fate's design wove a different thread, a boy appear.
God's blessings flow like a river wide,
Unfathomable, His wisdom does reside,
No mortal mind can grasp His divine plan,
A mystery that guides the course of life's span.
Your early days, a test of parental might,
Terror gripped their hearts, a fragile light,
Your silence, a concern that would not cease,
A nocturnal journey to the clinic's release.
The doctor's words, a balm to soothe their soul,
The humidity and heat, a temporary role,
Your growth, a tapestry of wonder and might,
A treasure trove of laughter, a heart alight.
Your smile, a radiant sun that lights the way,
A thriller that captivates, come what may,
Eldorado, a son of promise, a shining star,
May your days be long, your journey near and far.
Happy birthday, dear son, may this day be bright,
A celebration of life, a wondrous delight.
The Single Girls Valentines Day
( or ...We Love the 15th)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
February has now arrived,
hearts and flowers everywhere.
Valentine's Day will be here soon.
The day for loving couples to share.
But for singles ladies like this one
it's an annoying sight to see
those sappy ads and commercials
they bombard us with on T.V.
So Valentine's Day again this year
will be movie night for me and the cat.
Just nothing about love and romance.
I think I'll just boycott that.
The fifteenth is our holiday
when all the chocolate is marked half price.
On the fourteenth we may be lonely
but the fifteenth is pretty nice.
