Premium Member Point Lobos Paths

Last Fall, my church's Scouts and I went hiking.

A few miles north of Big Sur’s coast,
There is a forested park much to our liking.

Point Lobos is the nature preserve that I love most.

The beauty there is supernal, beyond description.

We chose our trails with maps and compasses,
And practiced local plant identification.

I pointed out Monterey Pines and Cypresses.

For a time we climbed a steep inclination.

We looked down into a cove, home of sea otters,
From a viewpoint near the old whalers’ station.

We climbed through a cleft worn down by waters.

That Saturday outing wasn’t a total disaster.

The boys passed tasks to advance in ranks.
Life doesn’t get much better for an old Scoutmaster.

Lastly, to the Great Spirit we all gave thanks.

Premium Member Beauty Incomparable

What gorgeousness is Beauty most treasured,
that breathes life, air, and health into starving lungs,
so ecstasy that's beyond being measured,
make even angels rejoice and speak in tongues?

Nothing is more blissful than passion enjoyed;
and nothing's greater than love supernal,
which inspires joy when two hearts are alloyed,
in union of mind and soul eternal.

Love everlasting and preternatural,
     and Beauty incomparable, divine,
transcendent, and utterly ethereal,
transform lovers that join, and intertwine.

To love is beauty, and beauty will not move:
what more could the world need now to know,
than heaven and earth were made from Beauty's love,
and grace, that sanctify with a sacred glow?

"One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life.
The word is love.”Sophocles, Greek Poet
Love’s a feeling difficult to describe
It’s the loving potion angels prescribe
From the start love’s a perpetual vibe
Etching on one’s heart a charming inscribe.

Love’s the melody sung within one’s soul
A lifetimes supernal leisurely stroll
It’s having someone who’s there to console
When in need of being made to feel whole
Love grows lovelier as the years evolve
Affirmation to love’s glory extol
As love is life’s most ineffable role
Aim for love to be life’s ultimate goal.

True love can never be put asunder
Nothing on earth could disturb love's thunder.

Premium Member A Man From Distant Lands

A man from distant lands

Celestial musings that you said to me
Still whisper gently in my memory
Reminding me of our heavenly kiss
Acquiescing to a pull of cherubic bliss.

Nothing has been the same since then
When under the moon we secretly met
For a union of our twilight dreams
Shining under glitter of stellar streams.

Moved by your supernal phrases
I opened the door of loving graces
Riding with you to ethereal places
Singing praises of romantic verses.

When moon so soon left evening sky
And winds shook up stormy clouds
I saw the retreating distant star
Urging you to exit before too long.

But you stayed put in drenching rain
Sheltering my frame without refrain
As we walked to a peaceful lake
Surrendering to love divinely ornate.

I knew you belonged to distant lands
When soon you left with moon and the stars,
Leaving behind your immortal vibe
Permanently bound with a seraphic tie.

Swan Astray

—Gods Too Err—

I

He limn’d her soul in clay, yet tinctur’d white,
as though a swan had stray’d from supernal seas;
then loosed her through the thorn-entangled night,
where mortal hands knew naught of such decrees.

She’d move through rain, whilst moonmilk veiled the mere,
and leave reeds aquiver in her wake;
a vestal lumen kept the darkness clear,
nor earth’s mordant cruelties could break.

She knew not guile, nor that venefic art
whereby the loveless counterfeit the true;
yet earth put iron fingers round her heart,
and taught her tenderness what wounds could do.

Then God beheld—and, fathomless, grew grave:
He’d made a swan no mortal world could save.

II

He saw how solitude had entered bone,
how grace grew wary underneath the skin;
how she could warm a stranger, yet alone,
would fold her argent wings and turn within.

Then past seraphic choirs His vision strayed,
beyond the azurine empyrean rim,
where unborn worlds in starless silence stayed—
He sought a soul whose depths could answer Him.

Through aeons, waning suns withdrew from sight,
whilst starry dynasties forgot their name;
yet still He wrought through the measureless night,
for none could bear the burden of her flame.

Her equal hath not yet drawn mortal air;
God still doth fashion him through endless prayer.

Maybe the boy is "crazy", but "crazy" for the sake of art.
...You thought: "I can see, I am etched in the boy's heart,
but he is still 'flying,' he is still striving to take off, he has
'wind' in his head." Quote from a Chagall letter: To My City Vitebsk*

WILD-WIND ROSE

Stirs emotions supernal — Chagall’s Bella catching the cerulean wind.
High, a kite with eternal surrender. Her Marc never shears the string.
Zephyr of bling, facet of reflections in the moorish blue-diamond sky.
Mourning spouse clings to her angel wings.

Provokes intoxication of her white-linen collar — a candle sputters
the yearning of passionate colors — a tightrope walker tiptoes
between the earth and heaven’s gate, too many years to wait.
The artist brushes a wild-wind rose.

He wanted to shake her out of every snowglobe he put her in.
Freely, he had imprisoned her in his paintings — his creations,
and forever his precious wife was shut in with a gold-plated key;
Chagall signed. . . to exalt admiration.

The day dawns on flaming sunburst sky,
gold-gilded wispy clouds glide slowly by,
spectrum of color on azure sea they pour,
silver lined waves spread pearls on shore.

Down the jade valley leaps the sparkling stream,
sculpturing rock ridge serenading in daydream,
dancing waters murmur on polished pebbles rolling,
listen to the distant music of verdant plains calling.

Seasons revolve in kaleidoscopic sublime spell,
draped in magnetic charm of nature unparallel.
The ember of autumn falls rustling on the meadow,
out of the winter frost buds bloom with surreal glow.

Sun from cyan sky shines on emerald forest canopy,
light and shade strips saunter by whispering tree.
Night falls silent sprinkling stardust on the thicket,
fireflies twinkle with the rhythmic chirp of cricket.

Supine spirit soars high with nature’s ethereal show,
on supernal stream of joy unbridled emotions flow.
The beautiful gift mankind received from the creator
floats on ripples of rapture on the tapestry of nature.

W.A.G.G.
By: Tom Wright
1998

We were once but a thought,
but then a reality we became.
Then we needed care,
God, gave us parents and name.

In seeking companionship,
God, gave us a spouse.
When asking for shelter,
God, provided a house.

While man sought friendship,
God, saw our need for love.
We sought a parole,
God, pardoned from above.

Communication we needed,
to, God's, throne in the air.
Of this too He was mindful,
and provided us prayer.

To point us the way,
of a map we had need.
God's, word came forth,
in a Bible to read.

As our last days approach,
some fear the worst.
God, gives living water,
that our soul's not thirst.

When a sacrifice was needed,
God, indeed furnished one.
For his plan of salvation,
it took, Jesus, His Son.

Our life, but a vapor,
from that One supernal.
He then gave us a choice,
whereby it might be eternal.

Listen to the night reciting heavenly music
When purple sky brightens with angelic spirits
Mesmerized by the twilight's fabulous glory
As the shining stars swing to celestial lyrics

Streets are beaming in cherubic nightfall
Stage has been set for the curtain call
Romance is dancing in a rhythmic ball
Happiness is reigning over one and all

Watch the sun's orange glow deep in the river
As clouds block the view of a lone photographer
When wild horses frolic in open air theater
Half-moon sketches arc to announce its arrival

People are singing a melodious song
Signs of melancholy have long gone
Echo of joy reverberates the town
For angels have joined to sing-along

See emerald green dipping in reflective ocean
As the moonlight shines upon supernal passion
When the milky-way stirs up ardent emotions
Watch the lighthouse rise-up to greet horizon

No one wants to say goodbye tonight
For revelers see the seraphic bright light
As festive images dominate every sight
Blessed by the presence of saintly might

Hear heavenly night singing hymns of compassion
As constellation bursts with flashes of excitement
And the town meditates in ethereal devotion
When cadence of the Holy echoes veneration
