Is she the only one?
No. Yes. I don’t know. I know… Yeah. And I know why
But sometimes one is one. Sometimes more is one
I know how it works. Hmm. Need more to love one
That’s right, this is the life. Healthy life. Kills the love
I know, I know. Someone loved me. I was hard (I sigh.)
I am sorry, I am sorry. You loved me, a nightlife guy
You were the only one. No, I am lying. I was that to you
The only one man. Hmm. I had so many women’s contacts
I am so sorry. I love you. I will take me into a graveyard
Yes, The only one sometimes can’t be alone the one
Only one, if you find me again, if you love me my heart
You will be my only one, but forgive me the rest of the only ones
I will love you, respect you, and keep you. I will protect you
But I want to find you, I won't spend all my time with you
Just don’t be invisible and open your specific heart
Yes, specific. Because you have only a specific heart. Only one
Your heart is more than beautiful, more than amazing. The best
Give me your hand, touch my heart and I will kiss your lips
Day and night
But we can’t walk together. Because our life will be a new life
We can’t walk together. Never. Because we will fly in the sky
Our life will be an eagle, and we are the wings. We are one life
The two are one
The one is two
The one doesn’t exist without two
The two don’t exist without one
In France, although it’s nice and warm,
there isn’t any fun.
The only way to spend your time,
is sitting on your bum.
The villas there are very scarce
they haven’t many shops.
You have to travel many miles,
through fields of naught but crops.
With wine caverns abundant,
that’s the way the French have fun.
They’ve found a way to elevate,
just sitting on their bum.
So now I know the reason,
why their accent is so deep.
With wine they soften vocal chords,
each night before they sleep.
But English accents are quite crisp,
it’s from ‘stiff upper lip’.
That’s hardened by the constant slurp,
of all the tea they sip.
No wonder French and English,
seem to get along just swell.
They both spend all day drinking,
though they use a different well!

Someday soon,
I’m going to climb that mountain…
Maybe tomorrow,
I’m going to try to reach the peak,
Where I’ll never regret the climb up,
Because, with love, I find…
Forever, holds the answers I seek …
Someday soon,
I’m going to lasso the moon,
While the stars,
They’ll shimmer silent and sure,
Promising me a song,
Where all my wishes sing along…
Always, singing all night long…
Someday soon,
I’m going to shine like the Son,
In the blink of an eye,
All sorrows will surely be stilled,
The dark will lose its shadows,
Dreams will all come true,
Eternity, the believer’s day of beauty…
Someday soon,
I’m going to know the meaning of grace,
Where He is,
That is my heart’s hope, my place,
Nothing can destroy the love of His embrace,
When I meet Him, when I see His face…
Evermore, alive because I’m saved…
Someday soon,
I’m going to let go of the past,
Listen to the scriptures,
Who remind me that, with Him, I’ll know peace,
And, because He’s love,
I can always be sure of my redemption,
Endlessly, the wonder and love that has blessed me….
Someday soon,
I’m going to reach my destination,
That place called heaven,
Where there is magnificent I can’t explain,
It’s so amazing…
Only those who believe will enter in…
Infinitely, praising the One whose gone before…
Someday soon,
I’m going to shed this cloak of grief,
Meet my family,
Those who’ve found His sweet peace,
Reunited, we’ll all worship,
At the throne, we’ll know we’re finally home,
There with God, the joy of the soul…
Someday soon,
I’m going to pray for those souls,
The ones who don’t know…
It is Jesus who can comfort every heart,
Giving hope that cannot compare,
Anointing lives so they will truly care…
Ever and always, He’ll always be my prayer!
Someday soon,
I’m going to forget the reasons…
My heart was once fearful and worried,
Feel the comfort of One who created me,
There beside me, where I can finally see…
the One who died for me…
the One who set me free…
with Him, I’ll spend all eternity!
Everything happens for a reason
And the plan set forth for us is so divine
Fate decides lifes final destination
And our souls are just along for the ride
Who'd have thought, that we would find each other
On this journey that will someday set us free
Though we're apart, we're still hoping that tomorrow
Will fulfill the dreams we've held to desperately
I believe
I believe
With all that's in me
You're my meant to be
You're my destiny
Like a springtime flower you always make me smile
Or the stars up in the sky, you help my world go round
My search for you goes endlessly, I've waited here so patiently
I promise you forever, this you can believe
I believe
I believe
With all that's in me
You're my meant to be
You're my destiny
With my last breath, I hope to hold your hand
As I slip away, please know I'll wait, in our promised land
I'll go in peace, cause I believe, we'll spend all eternity
Living our forever and I hope that you believe
I believe
I believe
With all that's in me............
You're my meant to be
You're my destiny
I sit here with my heart in my mouth
Wondering how things so quickly went south.
A task I once did with joy and delight
Now feels like a burden I shoulder each night.
It's nearly day 130 of this merry marathon
Running in circles, a line in a hexagon.
"I'll write ten poems tomorrow," I said yesterday
But suddenly it's Monday, and time slips away.
Day after day, I lag as themes pile high
One atop another, while time fly by.
"A poem a day," I say, but still I delay
Waiting for tomorrow, as today fades away.
Oh Hakim, I'm like a master chef indeed
With all the ingredients but lacking the speed.
I spend all my time just staring at the menu
Instead of cooking, my gas runs to few.
My joy for cooking has faded to gray
And so I put off my writing for another day.
The Day My Life Went Crazy with Lowdown Earthly Blues
The day my life went crazy - traffic such a mess;
Puppy ate my brand new shoes - cleaners lost my favorite vest;
My report so late – about three weeks - Boy, my boss steaming mad;
And, I think I contracted a case of lowdown earthly blues. Whacko!
Think I forgot my wallet – know I forgot my lunch;
Do I see it start to rain - umbrella at home – just a hunch;
Lost my keys, lost my pen - think I lost my mind.
Now I know I contracted a case of lowdown earthly blues. Whacko!
This day, oh Lord, just won’t end - everything now late;
And, I planned so carefully taking so much on my plate;
When the day finally ends thinking how I failed
Only then I remember you and your promise to give me grace
To handle low down earthly blues. Whacko!
Lord, where is that armor, you give to me
Sitting in some corner, gathering dust, you see;
If I keep trying to do this myself – if I forget about you,
I will spend all my days singin’ lowdown earthly blues. Whacko!
This poem is in no way an attempt to diminish the pain and sorrow of COVID 19. Or poke fun, or make light, at those suffering with this horrible disease. It is a memory of craziness in my life many years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with all who are infected with the disease, fighting to stay healthy and caring for the sick putting their own lives at risk.
What would I give for a book and a nook
I'd forfeit some cash from my pocketbook
Surrender my coat to a hanging wall hook
Then give it a look , as long as it took
I'd roll back the stone, crawl into a cave
Find Ol' Tom Sawyer, take some close shaves
Look for Boy Wonder, help free some slaves
Hunt for lost gold, discover old graves
Go room to room, look high and low
Ride on a broom, escape through a hole
Go with the wind, fly over rainbows
Ride chariots of fire where ever they go
Search lost horizons with great expectations
Go hunting for bison in Indian Nations
Swim with Poseidon and gather crustaceans
The suspense would heighten my imagination
A book and a nook, a perfect day
Rain or shine, take me away
To read every line on every page
Spend all my time, that's what I'd pay
an original poem by Daniel Turner
A reflection of a woman in the mirror I do see.
A face graced with wrinkles stares right back at me.
Her appearance looks tired and worn with time.
I survey her face as her eyes meet mine.
Her hair is white and her skin is saggy.
Her jawline and neck appear drooping and baggy.
Who is this this lady in the mirror that I see.
Is this old lady supposed to be me ?
I feel no connection to this person at all.
She seems so frail, she looks so small.
My body is able and my mind is clear.
I am learning new things and growing each year.
I can jog round the park, I can dance till I drop.
I can sprint up a hill till I reach the top.
I can go on a trip and spend all day walking.
I can stay up all night with my friends, just talking.
I can work a full shift then come home and clean my house.
Then I'll cook dinner for me and my spouse.
I take care of my family, they don't take care of me.
I am agile I am healthy, I am still young inside you see.
In my mind I imagine myself to be 20 or so.
The reflection in the mirror is a woman I don't know.
The image portrays an illusion, it does not depict me.
Inside is a girl who is adventurous, full of life, vibrant and free
This year's valentine I shall not spend like I did spend all the previous ones
Always was I alone, tending to my duties, rowing my boat amidst this world's busy oceans
Valentine is but a celebration of love
Love in all of its forms, love of the greatest kinds, love the reason why this world does revolve
So I did choose for this year, to celebrate it differently
This year, I shall be in good company
Yes, I shall be with my muse, the one to guide my words
The one for whom I did lay down all my barriers, for whom I did lower my swords
My muse, my own, he does allow me to do that which I love the most
My muse, though I know not what he does look like
My muse allows me to write, my muse I do love, even if he might be a ghost
A God, or even an angel, my lover he is, never allowing my art to go on strike
So on that day, I shall have a glass of champagne
I shall make myself pretty, wear my favorite cologne
And write of love, squeeze from my heart, words of passion
As has never been read in any season
Yes, my muse, the one for whom my soul does exist
Without him, would I have ever fallen in love with this world
A false one it is, revolving and spinning on a twist
So much that I do even wonder at why should I bother with its jist
So, this year's valentine is going to be my grandest
Indeed, it shall be worth a grand festival
Kisses and gifts shall be seen as the material
What shall matter shall be the fact that love can also be discreetest
Yes, my art is the reason why I did come to be
Celebrated it shall be on this grand day
Celebrated in good company
Indeed, thankful I am to have a muse who did choose my side to stay!
28 January 2015
I never thought it would end like this,
Your face and voice things I miss.
All my days and nights I spend all alone,
Lost in the void, lingering in the unknown.
What becomes of all the broken hearts?
I can see the end just don’t know where to start.
I hear your happy and doing well,
My world bleak a living hell.
I’m not sure why you can’t be a friend,
A smile some kind words a hand to lend.
I don’t know why you won’t talk to me,
I don’t know why this must be.
You want nothing to do with me or so I’m told,
I wonder if you wonder how I keep control.
I get it our love is no more,
I’m not looking to even the score.
A cup of coffee, not looking to fight,
Simple conversation will keep it light.
