Keep It Light

I never thought it would end like this,
Your face and voice things I miss.

All my days and nights I spend all alone,
Lost in the void, lingering in the unknown.

What becomes of all the broken hearts?
I can see the end just don’t know where to start.

I hear your happy and doing well,
My world bleak a living hell.

I’m not sure why you can’t be a friend,
A smile some kind words a hand to lend.

I don’t know why you won’t talk to me,
I don’t know why this must be.

You want nothing to do with me or so I’m told,
I wonder if you wonder how I keep control.

I get it our love is no more,
I’m not looking to even the score.

A cup of coffee, not looking to fight,
Simple conversation will keep it light.
