The Day My Life Went Crazy With Lowdown, Earthly Blues
The Day My Life Went Crazy with Lowdown Earthly Blues The day my life went crazy - traffic such a mess; Puppy ate my brand new shoes - cleaners lost my favorite vest; My report so late – about three weeks - Boy, my boss steaming mad; And, I think I contracted a case of lowdown earthly blues. Whacko! Think I forgot my wallet – know I forgot my lunch; Do I see it start to rain - umbrella at home – just a hunch; Lost my keys, lost my pen - think I lost my mind. Now I know I contracted a case of lowdown earthly blues. Whacko! This day, oh Lord, just won’t end - everything now late; And, I planned so carefully taking so much on my plate; When the day finally ends thinking how I failed Only then I remember you and your promise to give me grace To handle low down earthly blues. Whacko! Lord, where is that armor, you give to me Sitting in some corner, gathering dust, you see; If I keep trying to do this myself – if I forget about you, I will spend all my days singin’ lowdown earthly blues. Whacko! This poem is in no way an attempt to diminish the pain and sorrow of COVID 19. Or poke fun, or make light, at those suffering with this horrible disease. It is a memory of craziness in my life many years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with all who are infected with the disease, fighting to stay healthy and caring for the sick putting their own lives at risk.
