Blue Petal

Seldom does the morning wake me now
Too long has there been a dream of green
Foggy with the mist of the sea bay
Filled with those small white boats
slowly bobbing about here and there
Tethered to the waters and our desires

The sun through the glass panes comes
Amorphous as thoughts touching everywhere
Castings shadows defining the darkness
Spreading the light vigorously as a summer storm
Where just outside the bedroom window sill
Hangs an aging flower box peeling off its blue paint

It has no flowers or dirt, the bottom is long gone
A reminder to another time, another grace
A traveler from the past in torn britches
And broken straw hats popping their lids
You can watch the blue paint chips drop down
To a weedy grass like petals of forget me nots
Today was another day of green dreams.

Message

Blind to the words she heard
The written song he spoke
And though he spoke it candidly
The notes about her broke

The words were formed as music
They crooned, and sought the air
Alighting briefly by her ear
– They caught her unaware

The song he sang was breathless
Tumultuous, yet calm
Beneath the earnest candor
The truth a swirling storm

The message it delivered
Would satisfy a life
Did not her answer thunder
And – like lightning – strike!

So like the wave that crashes
Against the rocky shore
Whose churning sound is buried
Beneath the next one’s roar

His message fell unbidden
Without acknowledgement
And back into the ocean went
The bottle he had sent

THIS MORNING I HEARD GOD SPEAK THROUGH THE WORD

I just can believe yet I believe as I so received
My Father
My Dad
My God
Spoke to me

THIS MORNING I HEARD GOD SPEAK THROUGH THE WORD

I had a yesterday session
This something
I read my word

His word
The Bible
And the answer was forth lit up was right straight in
Front of me

All my doubts
My wondering abouts
The letters those words lit up my soul
As all mine answers were flush out

THIS MORNING I HEARD GOD SPEAK THROUGH THE WORD

I gave a verbal joust
My witness was brought forth
Mine blessing unfold
This day I read The Word
I heard God speak
I listened
I heard
As the bible lead me to Jesus

THIS MORNING I HEARD GOD SPEAK THROUGH THE WORD
Reading the bible, the word of God which leads us
To Jesus
Speak Lord Speak, Hallelujah

Inspiration

Inspiration

Go press record and tape all of my dreams;
There are thoughts in my head that have never been seen.
We shall have to fast forward;
Through the parts that aren’t clean.
But I’m sure somewhere in there is the man I wish I could be.

Your words make me shudder, with a personal touch.
They paint me a picture of how things could be.
There is wisdom in your lyrics, but the film has been cut;
Let me complete the jigsaw to enable me to see.

Your vision! My inspiration!
Your vision! Clarification!
Your vision! My inspiration!
Your vision! Emancipation!

I’ve entered a world, where every word has a meaning;
Before hearing your lyrics, to music I must have been sleeping.
Just humming along, with the strum of a guitar;
Now I understand your message, you are so inspirational.

Your vision! My inspiration!
Your vision! Clarification!
Your vision! My inspiration!
Your vision! Emancipation!

You are so profound! Your words have touched my heart.
There is poetry in your verse; your mind is a work of art.

So I thank every band, whoever wrote a good song
And every band, that made a good C.D.
I thank everyone who ever played a guitar;
Because your songs have inspired me.

Your vision! My inspiration!
Your vision! Clarification!
Your vision! My inspiration!
Your vision! Emancipation!

Premium Member The Truth Will Set Me Free

A scarlet daydreamer marbled in blue velvet
marooned in confidence mired in yucky mucky chucks
Twas a heist at gunpoint to honor those petted
I have brained the threshold and my mind turned to suds
On the premature notion that I have accepted
I have slipped and slid on a bed of clipped rosebuds
I have cast mirrors to purpose hexed

My expectations demanded the least contention
I cannot fathom the necessity for compassion
The visual aspects do not summon a cry for vexation
The certainties will formulate its need for satisfaction

I require life touches to ensure my future
I ought to lift higher and higher like a soul sensation
I must smooch with our solar star curvature
The certainties will formulate its need for satisfaction
Need for satisfaction

Ride captain ride onboard my mystery ship
Chart by stars sways the course
Yet a fragile world spurns to its lip
Of its inner voices of remorse
I am no redeemer but an apple chip

I need to be merely left as none to procrastination
unburied and left to stare at the granite tombstone
The certainties will formulate its need for satisfaction

I found my want to be left as an abandon
I do not need benevolent funds from association
And I deplore closeted affection
The certainties will formulate its need for satisfaction
I am lacking for a good connection
I need Dai-lee llamas that traverse the Andes ascension
The certainties will formulate its need for satisfaction.

Looking For My Elton John

I know I'm no Bernie Taupin
so, DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART
I know my lyrics are simple
every poet needs a place to start

I may not be Bernie Taupin
I didn't write CROCODILE ROCK
but, I know that I too can write the words
I just need my Elton John

I may not be Bernie Taupin
he wrote GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD
my mind works in easier concepts
no "hunting the horny back toad".

I may not be Bernie Taupin
creator of BENNIE AND THE JETS
but I can write a love song
of a life lived with no regrets

I may not be Bernie Taupin
his hits are way more than a few
I may not have an answer to his TINY DANCER
but I've danced a mad tango or two

I may not be Bernie Taupin,
I didn't write YOUR SONG
It turned out to be, a song for everybody
and not just for THE ONE

I may not be Bernie Taupin,
who wrote CANDLE IN THE WIND,
he struck gold the second time for Diana
the first time was for Marilyn

I may not be Bernie Taupin
by now that's not really news,
but I too can write a sad, sad song
so, I GUESS THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT THE BLUES

I may not be Bernie Taupin
and the ROCKET MAN is out of touch
but my sad songs also have merit
because SAD SONGS SAY SO MUCH

I may not be Bernie Taupin,
but, I'M STILL STANDING here with NIKITA
Bernie can make a hit out of anything
even going with DANIEL, to eat pizza

I may not be Bernie Taupin
but I write footloose and fancy free
maybe it's not like PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM
but hey! DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME

Bernie and Elton would both say
that it's been no SACRIFICE
and, SOMEONE SAVED MY LIFE TONIGHT
were lyrics that just felt right

It's been an amazing partnership
almost 50 years and still going strong
Bernie Taupin writes awesome lyrics
but the music is all Elton John.

So, I may not be Bernie Taupin
but I can write lyrics to a song, but
a song needs music and a melody
guess, I'll keep waiting for my Elton John.

Premium Member A Rock That No One Can Shatter

We think we have our safety net
filling our lives full of every little thing
favourites we protect ourselves around
'I am a rock' is what we like to sing

Being a reader I love my books
my poetry is to me a real anchor
to me, it's what keeps me together
not like the Titanic, ice rock sank her!

In my solitude of my quiet room
this is my rock, my safety net
there in my loneliness, I do like
me and my thoughts there to collect

As like an island there I stand
separated by liquid all around
standing tall above everything else
listening to birds lyrical sound

A rock that no one can shatter
now that's something to have near
think deep down is that really true?
that rock maybe has a fear!

( This is based on Simon & Garfunkel's ' I am a Rock'

'I have my books
And my poetry to protect me;
I am shielded in my armour
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock.
I am an island.
And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.)

Malevolence (Karma For Demons) (Angel of Sadness)

She’s coming for me
The things that I have said
Shh! I’m already dead
She’s coming for me
I’m laid back
But I spit like a demon possessed dragon
An angel colored in darkness
Drunken from life and staggering
What’s behind this kids eyes
The homeless shadow he carries alone
The story behind the songs
No I do not speak in tongues
To live a casual life is not to seek to be hung
There is no forgiveness for cursing your living
Consequences circle my thoughts
Shaded purple is my appearance for resisting the law
I can make my words seem of innocence
Or I can make my words keen of relevance
Two murders in Genesis
She’s coming for me
I lay down; I’m troubled in my peace
I wake up to visions of my flesh deceased
She’s coming for me
The things I’ve to often said
My souls coughing, seems I’m already dead
She’s coming for me

Premium Member The Master of the Rhyme

The Master Of The Rhyme
This was inspired by comments
made to me , by Great Poets
Peter Duggan and Olive Guillermo
And sung to the tune
Phantom Of The Opera's
"Music of The Night" by Andrew LLoyd Webber

Words that rhyme well--- serve to show my passion
Searching for the--- style that suits my fashion
Everything I see--- Is a poem meant for me
And I write it though it seems to be sublime
I truly am the master of the rhyme

While I’m sleeping--- in my mind come creeping
Filled with laughter--- mystery and weeping
Like an artist with his brush---I am filled with such a rush
And it paints a picture deep inside my mind
I wonder if I’m Master of the rhyme

Do you know who’s the Master of all known words
Do you know when he comes or where he goes
As He writes with my hands and through my soul
Whether it be a rhyme or it be prose

Written words--- start forming innuendoes
Join and bond--- then rise like a crescendo
When I awake I find--- this happens every time
I am just the name that must be signed
For I am not the Master of the rhyme

As I sit here staring at the empty page
He whispers in my ear again
I don’t know where the poem’s going to go
But, when I start the words begin to flow

Is It God, and is He on the level
Cursing me, as If I were the devil
Cause once I start to rhyme---the words begin to chime
Like a bell--- keeps ringing in my mine
He truly is the Master of the Rhyme

He alone holds the blessing---I make mine
For I am just a servant of the Rhyme
