stance is set
shoulders squared
She needs no reassurance
no protective arm
What she wants
is what she wills
she harbors no illusions
No man will tell her
what to do
She has lain out
her own way
and swept it clean
No distraction is allowed
to interfere
Her goals are set
and bannered, waiting
for distant days
She will claim them all
in triumph, never doubting
Small of stature
great of heart
she turns to face the wind
Gentle as a running stream
Unyielding as a diamond
She acknowledges
the difficulties
then passes through
No lie accepted
no truth denied
She scans the road ahead
weighs its options
gaze sure and steady

A child in years

Such nobilities
within my child

This is my little bulldog
holding the world

I can’t figure out
why everything doesn’t
happen like I want.
I brush my teeth and
floss regularly, I wash
my roommates dishes,
I am generous,
I don’t run in the hallways,
I do my homework.
I support pizza
places, Amazon - I spur
the economy
semi-sleepless night
no worries, but tossing with
no sleep - what’s with that?
My health app says I
slept three hours, four minutes.
I’m low on toothpaste.
five-thirty AM
Lisa and I ran four miles
on the gym treadmills
Banana/ peanut
butter/ cacao/ oat milk/ chia
seed breakfast smoothie.
I've been in love with
styling dresses, layered
over flared jean pants.
My first look was a
tulle dress over sequined jeans
and tan kitten heels.
The winter hook-up
scene is in full swing - not for
me, I’m like second base.
I just lay around,
in sad, unfettered, boredom
- a crying shoulder
for others, I’m not
a skanky whore, like [censored]
- try penicillin - ß??ç?
Since, as you can see,
I am, for all intents and
purposes - perfect.
I can’t figure out
why everything doesn’t
happen like I want.

ß??ç? is NOT a word, it’s a set of Greek symbols - if you read something in them, well, that’s just coincidental, isn’t it?
Magically cast
inside the mirrors glow warm
enchanting beauty
Smile, it will light up
in one thousand starlight dreams
meandering through joy
The mountains dew
flowing a river deeply
to an ocean runs
Salted waves will kiss
and forever caress love
always one queen cut
In the shadows soft
silver dancing inside light
songs of an angel
Singing chants sweetly
within a voice silently
echoing whispers
For get me not's babe
inside blows a warm breeze
floating away deep
On wings one can fly
butterfly dancing flutter
each blink in an eye
Oh it's you who journeyed
over many great oceans
the promise one made
Makes you forever
sings songbirds, in grace happy
just wish i could take
Away all the pains
they fade away suffering
upon you're breeze warm

**** haiku and senryu are in the moment verses which require
showing not telling and the bulk of the poem is always in the readers mind
not the poets pen.

'sensuous senryu'
“Times have passed cheques (checks) are surpassed
We now have online banking. In my day
if they didn’t wanna pay, all you heard was The last line of this poem” ~~The Poet~~
Warned of the crocodile,
The tourists began to smile.
We will sunbath for a while.,
From Czechoslovakia he came.
Boris was his name.
The Frenchman was game.
Swimming in the river.
They saw two crocs sliver.
They began to quiver.
The biggest croc gulped.
Swallowed the tourist whole.
The next man met demise.
The crocks shot by locals.
Who had been searching.
They took the crocs skin.
And what they found.
Frenchman in the female croc.
And the Check was in the mail !!!
