Dracula and the Dinner Guest

DRACULA AND THE DINNER GUEST Here lie all parts of my retelling of Dracula, originally written by Bram Stoker. I have never read the book but was drawn into the synopsis that included my favorite dinner, a Hungarian favorite - Chicken Paprikash. The synopsis tells of a man named Harker who had dinner with Dracula. So here it is! Skip down if you have read the first parts or have another read. I hope you enjoy! Part 1: A MERE HINT OF MALICE paprikash chicken… sweet dish...sink your teeth into ...careful of the host his eyes hypnotize… delighted to wine and dine ...hungry for Harker* single baying wolf under your satin window ...salivating dreams Part 2: SUFFERINGS stabbed at the dumpling… cut the head off the chicken ...kitchen staff impaled* Harker’s tipsiness... ruddy wine blushes on neck ...teeth marks like fork tines imagined in dark mind of Dracula...scheming closed lips...tongue beating Part 3: DELICIOUS SECRETS wings in spiked red sauce ...flappable supper ...disemboweled coffer under linen cloth secrets away its latches and old silk lining feet pressed against chest ill at ease...Harker’s knocking knees..banging back wine Part 4: SPILLING SECRETS the silver bullets... a laugh from Harker’s friend ...Dracula’s raw steak drains upon his plate... handsome piece of meat...not pale ...centered fork wobbles Harker drops his glass... the smoking gun smiles ...ammunition spills Part 5: PITCH DARK MADNESS bat’s pitch dark madness… guts like gallstone rocks ...a squeaky wheel sound hunger passed away… hospitality dried up ...Harker sees his life floating matrix dots… turns the exit knob ...dawn spares his demise Part 6: CEMETERY PLOT the flames and pitchforks claim the apocalyptic eventide of truth Harker’s fingers pry open a dusty coffin... lies dead — Dracula wicked and peaceful... shadows open eyes ...silver sword lances the vampire’s neck bone... shriek of a thousand ages ...black blizzard dust like a cloud of flies… the buzz deafening...chokehold of last mortal bite disappears in full moonlight and bright shining stars ...empty cavity exposed...house vanished ...emerald green grass like a cemetery plot ...Harker’s slain monster no longer serves up malice ...long dead in seconds villagers give up the violence of the mob... befriending their smiles 5/3/2018 *to fix in an inescapable or helpless position
