Hold onto your beliefs...
Even though churches are darkened!
Hold onto your beliefs....
Even though youtr children are taught God does not exist!
Hold onto your beliefs...
Even when lies and fear cover this earth.
Hold onto your distinct American values...
Even when totalitarianism is all around you.
Hold on to classical poetry and it's metrical beauty,,,
Even though the push to pen one liners, sounds like a duty.
Hold on to your dignity, find others just like you...
Even though your positions don't match compatriots about you.
Hold on you will find a place with true respect...
Even though, you may not know where that is , just yet!

I bit the metals but I didn't break, only I became marshmallows after.

Oh, how I miss a live audience!
But writing humor to the stillness of-the night?
Like talking to a picket fence.
The laughter is simply not there!
Reminds me of something I so
Despise...canned laughter.
So infinitely dead and dry.
I look at the moon and howl, to a
empty, papyrus sky.
Doing live comedy, now that was
a thrill, you see?
But comedy on paper, has no
meaning or joy for me.

Panagiota has a background in doing Imrovisational theatre at
Second City in Chicago. As well as doing her own stand up comedy
routines at various clubs in Chicago. Never did one liners or had a script!
It was much fun.Nor told jokes...r
That is not me, nor ever will be. PR
We love to be victims.
We wear our damaged hearts on bloodied sleeves.
We cherish the buried shrapnel with serrated edges,
that lies deep within, in time-lapse lockets,
waiting to be unlocked, awoken and inflame again.
The sharp painful shards and regretful splinters are awaken by,
silly deja vu triggers of guilt, regret and happenstance,
and innocent throw-me-down one-liners, floating on the wind.
They trigger, echo and ricochet painful memory laser beams,
that blast into irrelevant virgin-ground places,
reverberate and resonate,
and build the inflammation,
we want to feel.
For we long to be long-suffering victims,
infected, shrapnel-scared, beyond redemption,
serving our time as voluntary introspective inmates in jail,
with no parole.
One Liners 4 (can you believe it)
For Sale: Parachute. Used once, never opened, small stain
Definitely a sales pitch, stain is quite large
When people tell you how young you're looking lately
They're also telling you how old you are
Okay Scottie, now beam down my clothes, not funny
Think you can get away with that spacey stuff
What happens if you get scared half to death twice?
Hmm, methinks that'll end up quite rough
Here's a puzzle, why don't women blink during foreplay?
Because they don't really have enough time
Ever heard of a blink of an eye... well there you go
Anything longer is considered overtime
Remember half the people you know are below average
Hmm, good point... feel 50% better now?
A journey of a thousand miles starts with a broken fan belt
Why do psychics ask your name for cryin' out loud
Get a new car for your spouse, it'll really be a great trade
Some of my best friends are other guys' wives
More impressive when others discover your good qualities
Without your help... than having to resort to lies
Jitterbugs are hard to get rid of, but I've got a solution
Stop playing that damn boogie-woogie stuff
Time is the best teacher, too bad it kills all of its students
Often thought of putting stuff in her ****
Those of you that believe in telekinesis, raise my hand
So you in the back, best you go to the loo
Join the Army, meet interesting people, and kill them
Maybe the army should be a little less true
If a mechanic tells you he can't fix your brakes
So he made your horn much louder and how
A man was in a car accident, it made his left side paralyzed
Doc said, "After examination, he'll be all right now"
Let me not nonsense, pen!
One-liners, jokes, do I dread.
The carnival of forms, far too
many.
Some not poetry, at all.
About as good as "Henny-Penny!"
.
Sounding like echoing laughter in
an empty hall.
The murder of our beautiful English
language, banal and cold as an empty,
plastic mall.
.
Or overdone with oh so, impressive
words from our great Thesaurus.
Better to read famous poetry, with your
red cat, Morris!
.
Truth, soul, God, do they really matter?
Sadly, not really~ if on the floor, truth
is shredded, lying in dirt, in tatters!
.
When a human life ends and you refuse to
shed a tear.
You no longer are a poet, just about as
human as an empty can of beer!

Like to dedicate this to my late dad who was a roofer
So dad, if your up there... you nailed it
Now that sounded a bit disrespectful don't you think
Sorry, should strike the ladder from my script
You can't drink away alcoholism while lying in the gutter
So just take small sips on your couch
That way you'll be much more relaxed and comfortable
When you puke and won't be such a grouch
Why did a blonde stare at a frozen orange juice can for an hour
It read concentrate... now that makes sense
When thing's are coming your way, you're in the wrong lane
Then things will hit you and make a dent
Women spend more time wondering what men are thinking
Then men do, just spend time thinking
Was worried my mechanic would rip me off but was relieved
Said I needed turn-signal fluid, had no inkling
Squinting towards the lens, pressed fingers poised
Patter of shutters point to ample publication
Greater than any citizens' optimised hopes
Helicopter swept, high stake hustling self opinion
Gratuitous frog mouth catches fools, sticky tongue lashings
Golf club strolling, silver spoon holding, crumbs for cleaners
Pussy grabber dresses in pro life garb for target demographic
Speaks the language of fanaticism, fist in scripture
Heavy repertoire laced in hate. Dire threat leant on as a pillar
Podium fronted pompous smoothes fear with one liners
Gambling with virus spits in the face of reckless ruler
Trillion dollar trade removed, blackjack tapped table bust
Mogul makes workers homeless amidst bankruptcy claims
Grotesque filing fails retains dozens of glinting casinos
Gall lets leader make meme of nuclear dictator
Having little remaining reign tenure, pocket profane folds

Goal Reached ~One Thousand Poems
Dropping by with a bottle of champagne.
Hoping you don't mind if I come in from the rain?
Wanted to thank my small, but grand group of followers.
I give each of you a bouquet of gorgeous, fragrant flowers.
I wanted to reach the goal of 1000 poems tonight.
And, I tell you doing that was both murder and delight
I realized, too, my poetry is never one-liners.
I won't apolize, here, just think a little longer is finer!
And also, three cheers to PS Administration
They do a great job~without them, how could we
communicate in such poetic perfection?
Remember the day you first came here?
So, do have some bubbly and to all, three Grand Cheers!
With love and respect

{Happy Hannukah, too! First night of Hannukah!}
If I said you had a beautiful body
Would you hold it against me, sweet lady
What an opening line that would be
Guarantees you a slap, there matey
Why is it so hard for women to find men
That are sensitive, caring, and good-looking?
Because they usually already have boyfriends
Specially if they're also good at cooking
The difference between a husband and a dog
The dog still gets excited to see you
Sometimes I have to reintroduce myself
To my wife, “hi, we're married, we two!”
My birth certificate was a letter of apology
Dad got from the condom company
Let my mind wander and it didn't come back
That's no reason to get all uppity
The very worst time to have a heart attack
Is during a game of charades
Gotta hope you're really good at the game
And they call 911 before you fade
Okay here's one last giggle, hope you like it
Finally had to stop drinking because
Got tired of waking up in my car driving 90
Followed close behind by the fuzz
