Creative Writing was my love,
a passion I thought highly of.
A freshman, I felt I could shove
one course in my school year.
Assignment 1 - simple indeed:
"Who broke your heart and made it bleed?"
I felt I nailed it; Prof agreed
   (or so it would appear)...

I think I wrote convincingly -
"Winter is not my cup of tea,
it casts its bread upon the sea,
   my saddest time of year.
I call a halt, enough's enough!
I clench my fist and call her bluff,
and frankly, speaking off the cuff
   I wished summer were here.

"Dog days of summer make me smile
when, grinning like a crocodile,
my smiles are wider than the Nile -
   Elysian Days with you.
With bated breath, I'd greet the moon
and croon you some soft summer tune
until that wretched day in June
when you dealt me a blow.

"My love, you had me on cloud nine,
now casting pearls before the swine,
you ran into his arms, not mine;
   my baptism by fire.
You left me there sadder than sad;
there may be balm in Gilead,
but you left me stark, raving mad,
   about to go haywire.

"To add insult to injury
you said I barked up the wrong tree
and so I sailed on glassy sea
I hope I'm not too vague,
or should I spell it out for you?
In light of your foul witch's brew
I should do as the Romans do:
   avoid you like the plague!"

Thus it went on, emotions raw.
I hoped my prof would be in awe -
My last line was the coup de grace:
I know this, too, shall pass.
My gentle prof, he had his ways
of pointing out my bland clichés:
"You do enjoy a well-worn phrase!"
I learned a lot that class.

Whats the Matter With You

spoiler-this might get a bit sarcastic

so an easy off the cuff comment
Lets break it down
so What's is a broken what is
so worried about my cares
you made it shorter than it was meant by one letter
The now so this is aimed at you reading as well
so you know what the means
so next you used a word you have no understanding of its meaning
Matter
now i have to play Holmes
is it the matter that makes up my physical substance
have i changed shape
have i become less significant
do i look like i a considering something
punching my hand out the back of your head

with wait till i get to you

now with you
so what now your an accompliment to my pain
Am I in the middle of a possesion

And finally
the you now is that ewe a single sheep(still think it should be a shoop)
so what i am upset and you want to talk about sheep
or is it the you as in me
so suddenly forgotten my name

Nope
smiled which held the
screaming F$$K off back

PARASITE

Aint nothing in life so weak and parasitic
As the smug self-delusional heckling critic
Sick with repressed envy and a manner most vile
He slithers to his seat to vent his acrid bile
Bereft of any talent to do anything himself
Can't wait to put the boot into everybody else
Can't act, can't dance, can't sing, can't play
Wouldn't have the nuts to get up on stage anyway
Sad man, sad man, silly little sad man.

Really rates himself as a man who knows his stuff
Mouthing well-used insults (too dumb for off-the-cuff)
When you're up there playing he'll inevitably try
To portray mock disdain if you ever catch his eye
So pay no mind to this impotent imbecile
Who follows his calling with unrelenting zeal
No wit, no style, no clout, no class
The turgid remains of a charisma bypass
Sad man, sad man, pity for the sad man.

Like a keyboard warrior, an internet troll
Loves it when his barbs hit an unsuspecting goal
And if you ever flinch, he's got you mind and soul
Thinks this master of the moment the ninja in control

Next time I'm performing I pray that he will show
I'll come on all guns blazing, and hope he has a go
This piteous mug who'll dismiss me with a sneer
Chuckling with his cronies at how bad I've been up here
On social media you can bet he'll go to town
Spewing forth his venom as he tries to put me down
No joy, no smile, no love, no praise
A pitiful indictment of his hollow darklit days.
Sad man, sad man, silly little sad man.

Premium Member Do Not Disturb

So the big question must be asked,
what in heavens name, is heaven,
I’m taking about the eternal afterlife,
where worthy spirits are said to reside,
For this individual, impossible to comprehend,
Maybe as a concept, it’s different for you,
Will one size fit all, what way does it work,
Is heaven bespoke to fit individual needs,

Do not disturb

I’m not trying to tempt one’s faith, except my own,
It’s your heaven, your belief, mine’s already sewn,
The paths we take as individuals, are ours alone,
Can every move we ever make, already be known,

Some say life itself decides, if we make the cut,
Others sleepwalk through existence, eyes wide shut,
Most people seem decent, til out pops some nut,
Oh was a lovely person, now they turn our guts,

What’s the criteria, when we come to be judged,
Hardworking, helpful, kind hearted, good enough,
Someone spreading gods word, but not off the cuff,
One standing up to bullies, never tempted by lust,

Just obey gods commandments, simple as that,
Come on! I can pick them apart, two seconds flat,
Life is punishing, impossible, difficult, abstract,
This child in my arms, needs food, not thou shalt!

For the love of god, how’s heaven black or white,
If no wriggle room, I’m already banned outright,
Repent and be saved, everything will be alright,
I’ve tried so very hard, to make sense of this rite,

Worthiness, persistence, obstinacy, blind faith,
Dogma, belief, religions, are found in every race,
Which one is true, or does it matter in any case,
Can we only be judged, by a certain gods grace,

The pressing question remains, what is heaven like,
Answer’s simple, but first must switch off the lights,
You still can’t see, don’t worry, might happen tonight,
A dream so good you never wake, oh yes just right!

Believe and Do Not Bereave

I don't belong or get along, my ways are different from the rest
as hard as I try it just does not fly, I can never pass that standardized test
I cannot figure on whom to pull the trigger, I simply had enough
when my blood boils to toleration zero, I can't help but fly off the cuff

Imagine here you are, and put into a situation
being told there is no need for contemplation
so just another robot you are expected to be
would you not do whatever you must to set yourself free

Living this life for so very long, waiting for a miracle to feel you belong
where is the chance to redeem yourself, this internal pain seems to prolong
calling to those claiming to be your friends, please come now to my aid
my dilemma is certainly an emotional one, you have nothing to be afraid

What can I say, it's a broken heart I have today
who not in my position, would they be able to relate
so I am left with only this one thought in mind
with no alternative, predisposed to accept my fate

I am trapped in my own reality, with this being at the core
and only recently have I been able, beginning to explore
and, yet, my senses tell me, what my heart already knows
it's a punishment from above, because of what I did not long before

You see my friend, it is true that in the end
we will all be shown what our lives were all for
having been brought to this world, was not for naught
all of our deeds, to be weighed with a heavenly score

Our lives have been recorded on video, where all that has been done does reside
and after our lives have been completed, with all this will our judgement decide
to be applauded and forever lauded, by what we have done while we were here
or to be decided differently, and forever this shame will we be forced to wear

It is not too late, I reiterate, while the breath of life is still yours
freedom of choice gives you that voice, avoid what the Almighty abhors
only days and years to us remain, to the moral and upright you should cleave
because Satan awaits to take what's his, why for an eternity should you bereave

KEY: N-Neighbor

"An armless heart steals the pause that a calming reveals," ... by The Poet

He said his peace then looked at his timepiece
like he's forgotten
supine the sullen skies that spat in his eyes and
smiles with caution
while's till a bus comes counts his coins if funds
costs ride enough
who's minding Harry hairy-a bit much Wheaton Terrier
if off the cuff
jointly waiting sits coolly so natural well school he was
poor little fella
Spring fair cause of tales and dreams whip full sails
winds of summer
ride home be no difference thoughts well in silence
right for a poem
of love a life of good deeds still faithful without needs
proud to know him
the longest ride home short for a good mind to roam
if nothing else
N: You're out just a bit." "Harry!" ["He chose you to sit,
best of my pals! |^| |^|

My Mom My Star

You've listened to me talk.
You've listened to me cry.
You were always there for me.
I asked myself, "Why?"

It's not just that you're my Mother.
It's because you are a friend.
Loving me the way I am..
It's not hard to comprehend.

You were meant to be my Mother.
I'm so proud of you, for sure.
Your loyalty, your faithfulness..
In my Life it was the cure.

This gift of YOU I cherish.
I say this from my heart.
If it was not for you.
I could have fell apart.

Instead my life it prospered.
Your LOVE guided me through.
If you didn't love me..
I don't know what I would do.

You show me very often.
That you truly care.
When I flew off the cuff..
You caught me in mid-air.

Thank you so much..
for being who you are.
My Mother I do Love you.
You are a shining star.

The Priest

Who do you trust least

Preacher..teacher or literal beseecher

Ethereal spiritual feast or visceral ritual beast

Funereal foibles & surreal baubles

Of a Priest

Plead to heed with every deed to the creed

Erratic didactic tactic is tragic

There is no such thing as magic

Demagogic not pedagogic logic

Subjugation to the screed or damnation indeed

Survival battered by books tattered

The seedier leaders flattered

Primal tribal rival bible revival

Media…things that mattered…shattered

Connives..contrives yet thrives

Bet everyone everywhere writhes

Let’s not forget to pay our tithes

Had enough of this guff

Before you’ve blinked

Off the cuff

You’ve been hoodwinked

In a huff

You’ve been sinked

By the bluff

Scary skits & lairy fits

Notoriety..wary of

The gobbits & gambits

Entirety of Society in bits.

The palpable culprits

At the heart of it

Twits in culpable pulpits

Totemic hysteric polemics

Sinister vicar & minister

Systemic Cleric relics

Tire of entire dire quagmire

Of the liar denier empire

Cast asunder by another blunder

Besmirch on a pedant’s perch

Tone of brimstone, thunder & fire

Prone to lurch under the church spire

What do you expect

Cause and effect

Have always been suspect

When a Rector gives a lecture

On the spectre of conjecture

This institution ain’t the solution to destitution

Why does all religious passion

Ration rather than fashion compassion

More moral blindness than kindness

Cerebral lobe flashing

Surely all we need from above

Across the globe

Is liberal lashings of love

My grandad was asked on his death bed

“Pray tell Harry…you going to heaven or hell?”

“To be frank…don’t give a monkeys” he said

“I’ve got mates in both ..so all’s well that ends well (or swell for our American cousins)”

What is that awareness by which each body-mind feels alive and becomes aware?—Unseeking Seeker

The underlying of dog-eat-dog world,
dialogue used to defuse what’s within,
unveiling characteristics, plots and tension
Wilty pleasures of ha ha ha’s thin skin
the restless measured writing in prose
adding realism with metaphor tags
Anxiety insomniacs expose egocentricities,
loyal coterie, and owning denial lags
In what’s plain and unembellished, ordinary,
unpretentious loud screams heard
See me, feel me, read me,
clinging to ink, expecting gold
Unadorned yet in an uptight hold

Give me Kodachrome and enhance my view of life!
A brighten-filter emulsifies, nothingness’ behind
Breathe in, pause, exhaling into wake-sleep
I go beyond the sky and stars, the earth moon trails,
minus space junk’s desires, cheap mind-litter
I am Artemis ll, yet I’ve no mind-space or time
Without a shell without a conch,
I'm the propeller in a solar system
accelerating into orbital grace in a single launch
Earth appears with green auroras and zodiacal light,
A home planet, a breathtaking sight,
a sapphire hovering in velvet
The lexicon of language, the portrayal of image,
Off the cuff spontaneous levels roaming

Aware with deep breaths and where nothing nests behind
I seek refuge, I speak well-spoken, I’ve guidance unbroken
I make merits in holy days through alms,
offerings in namaskar and in mantras healing verses
I maintain these days, I Am this moment
Eye of the eye, nothing behind me coerces

Stuffed

Right here, right now, right off the cuff
I must say that I have stuff
Possessions or obsession
Either way it's way too much

I've been collecting all these years
Moving forward, grinding gears
Stuffing boxes here and there
Piles of purchase everywhere

Knick knacks piled on top of shelves
Collecting dust above all else
Each one seems to be mid scream
Could it be a cry for help

I even buy extra stuff
Where I can stuff my stuff
From massive sheds with metal lids
And still it's not enough

A problem for me I say maybe
But at least it's one I love
After all as I recall
Can you really ever have too much stuff
