Do Not Disturb

So the big question must be asked, what in heavens name, is heaven, I’m taking about the eternal afterlife, where worthy spirits are said to reside, For this individual, impossible to comprehend, Maybe as a concept, it’s different for you, Will one size fit all, what way does it work, Is heaven bespoke to fit individual needs, Do not disturb I’m not trying to tempt one’s faith, except my own, It’s your heaven, your belief, mine’s already sewn, The paths we take as individuals, are ours alone, Can every move we ever make, already be known, Some say life itself decides, if we make the cut, Others sleepwalk through existence, eyes wide shut, Most people seem decent, til out pops some nut, Oh was a lovely person, now they turn our guts, What’s the criteria, when we come to be judged, Hardworking, helpful, kind hearted, good enough, Someone spreading gods word, but not off the cuff, One standing up to bullies, never tempted by lust, Just obey gods commandments, simple as that, Come on! I can pick them apart, two seconds flat, Life is punishing, impossible, difficult, abstract, This child in my arms, needs food, not thou shalt! For the love of god, how’s heaven black or white, If no wriggle room, I’m already banned outright, Repent and be saved, everything will be alright, I’ve tried so very hard, to make sense of this rite, Worthiness, persistence, obstinacy, blind faith, Dogma, belief, religions, are found in every race, Which one is true, or does it matter in any case, Can we only be judged, by a certain gods grace, The pressing question remains, what is heaven like, Answer’s simple, but first must switch off the lights, You still can’t see, don’t worry, might happen tonight, A dream so good you never wake, oh yes just right! For me it’s all in the cross and resurrection. If we could save ourselves, but we can’t. So I look to my savior and serve him. I get to know my Lord, hear in my heart his spirit. I’m surrounded by his favor. We still carry our cross. This is not heaven but heaven will be. (I love your poem.) Hugs...Kim

I understand fully Kim, I have some family with similar beliefs to your own, This came from my own introspective truths as an agnostic, I’m delighted you love the poem regardless of the contents, I admire your independence to write this comment, cheers David

David, here is a remarkably good write. As is typical for you, deep topic covered clearly, with familiar tone spoken to a close mate. An utter inspiration. Yes, the pre destined argument is difficult to back! The entire structure of this poem is so well thought through, put together. I'm impressed with your great skill when you write these wise pieces. Important for every man to read.

Thanks so much Sigrid, just being totally honest with myself, I’m influenced by great and sundry and take nothing for granted, if I must spend eternity in a beautiful dreamworld I’ll take it, I’m so delighted you get my point, and craft these wonderful comments which in turn explains more eloquently than my poem ever does to me cheers David

Great write David enjoyed reading it with an open mind like you said just your individual opinion posing asking questions. Its always open to interpretation or according to religious belief or faith as its a concept and will remain that way until God or someone actually comes back from the dead to life to prove and explain it.

No way Christopher, what sort of person would or indeed poet would have the nerve to ask for a donation in return for a bespoke poem, that’s an all time low, I hope you gave a nice sarcastic reply, or write a fitting poem in return, I’ll keep my eyes peeled cheers David

Here is 1 for you David. I thought id heard everything being on here a while. But i read and commented on a poem and this was the reply i got . They could write a poem specifically for me and although writting is a god given talent or gift they dont charge but do accept a donation of payment in return once it is to be sent.

And like you said so eloquently David a genuine poets duty is to objectivity not conformity. Winning by default

My sentiment exactly Sir you may just have blown or cracked the case right open for the defense. I think certain poets maybe on a blacklist and before there evidence even gets to see the light of day or gets its day in court its shall we say curtailed by the suppressive forces for the good of all and sundry

I also believe certain poems are boycotted through soup mail, how else can someone know the content before reading it, who’s pulling the noodles from the soup

Thanks Christopher just being honest with myself no point in trying to gain favor by lying, a poets duty remember, I spelt out my sentiments, I’m not an authority on religion I simply write poems, from my point of view others write from theirs, it’s not a battle of beliefs cheers David

Sadly probably going to cost you more views and comments from members than win favor with them
