An ethereal vision
Iridescent her hues
Locks of spun gold
A mermaid I'm told
This mythical creature
from Atlantis it's been said
In the blink of an eye
In the minutest breath
In the tenderest heart beat
I was feeling bereft
Did I really catch a glimpse
or was it wishful thinking
Searching the horizon
with eyelids a blinking
No signs were left
There was nothing - no inkling
As searching in vain
For proof she had been there
upon some distant rocks
gently combing golden locks

HONOURABLE MENTION
He did his hash slinger training
Then with a couple of his mates
Set up this high class restaurant
Where they didn’t bother with plates,
Just bits of brickkies rubble,
Guttering and such,
Jam jars and slabs of wood
Stuff not costing very much,
And they served minutest portions
Arranged with artistic taste
Just little appetisers really
So very little went to waste.
And they did the strangest things
Like serving food in hay
Even chocolate covered ants
One special gourmet day.
Folk came from near and far
Just to be seen
Eating his creations of
Advanced Nouvelle Cuisine.
And they charged the highest prices
Just to keep it riff raff free
And so very very soon
It became the place to be.
They worked and they strived
Seldom long serving the same
And so they managed to stay
Well ahead of the game
And they thrived and multiplied
Were franchised all over the nation
With proposals from America
And internationalisation,
They got gongs from Palace
And nobody ever knew
They’d only been to night class
To do Catering, NVQ Level Two.
Then came a call from on high
The Palace of Westminster beckoned
He stood a good chance
So the Party Hierarchy reckoned.
It was touch and it was go
But he only just got beat
Standing for the Tories
In a very marginal seat.
Thus he’d proved that old adage,
If you’re daring and brash and bold
The people will swallow
Any old garbage that they’re sold.
Ponder me - I'm the best poetic expression, my father had wrote.
Awful me - I'm the depth of calmness, an eye of storm shows.
Fearful me - I'm the lord of darkness, residing beneath the light.
Cheerful me - I'm the light of lightness, children adore to hug.
Joyful me - I'm the pleasure of a new born, when motherly angel nears.
Wishful me - I'm the wise of the wisest, like showering grace of sun.
Colourful me - I'm the blush of the rose, picked and worn in romance.
Tearful me - I'm the cry of the heaven, drowning the earth of hope.
Blissful me - I'm the minute of the minutest, allowed to wander in this world.
Humble me falling into the pit of ignorance
Boasting myself, for impressions in distant hearts.

I do not, even, erroneously think,
It's in infidelity that our life-boat did sink;
An infatuation might be; or like magnet,
A pull from east or west pole, got set;
The love that palm-tree-like I considered,
Got uprooted as though termite-eaten shed;
Was there, like within sand hidden, sword-like stone?
Did within in our smiles hide some bitterness unknown?
Wasn't life, like clear-stream, flawlessly flowing?
Why, minds, yet, recklessly, like tempests, blowing?
Never you seemed to show minutest of anger,
Why then, within this sudden noisy clangor?
Did I withhold any little of your self-esteem?
Or did I doom any of your highly-held dream?
Or, like men irresponsible, who neglect their duties,
Did I lack commitment in esteem your beauties?
Seasons raid; weathers invade; flowers fade;
Isn’t, yet, we bride and groom for each other made?
If hypocrisy prevails our hearts, let's not call it love;
Love is selfless and unconditional; gift from above...!

My heart*, wholly convicted by God’s holy writ
Earnestly confesses its stubborn arrogance
Humbly acknowledging haughtiness’ engagements
Abased against futile glory-seeking pursuits.
This heart is now open to the Lord’s scrutiny
Surrendered for His gracious sanctification
Believing that nothing is hidden from His eye
Since He alone discerns the minutest intents.
With my cleansed, pardoned heart, I worship my Saviour
Esteeming Him with gratitude’s joyful praises
By His tender mercy and gracious compassion
Here’s my yielded heart, willing to serve with faith’s might.
*Proverbs 19:21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

Give me no limits
Limitless sky
and vast ocean,
No boundaries
breaths will follow,
Sunshine pierces
the minutest,
Moon brushes in sleep,
God created no limits!
Why should I
His daughter,
follow any limits O man,
That you created
just to subjugate ?
What to wear
When to laugh
Whom to talk
Making friends with
Why these limits ??
Putting a full stop
to my thoughts,
No freedom
of expression
or education,
Snatching rhythm
off my heartbeats,
Am I not human ?
Unacceptable are,
The narrow visions
that don't let us grow,
Gender inequality
that ought to raise a brow,
Don't measure my span
as I take a flight,
Care for my emotions
give me no limits !

Life is like,
A Snake in an eagle nest.
Life is alike,
A worker at its best.
Life is like,
A torch bearer with no rest.
Life is alike,
A long distance runner who is not exhausted.
Life is like,
A prophet at its mightiest.
Life is alike,
A navigator who loves to go the longest.
Life is like,
A narrator who explains in its shortest.
Life is alike,
A predator who attacks at its deadliest.
Life is like,
A teacher at its greatest.
Life is alike,
The beauty of nature in its minutest.
Life is like,
A doctor who serves without rest.
Life is alike,
A pearl at its deepest.
Life is like,
A king who rules at its hardest.
Life is alike ,
A beggar who stands as the modest.
Life is like,
A goal to be reached at its earliest.
Life is alike,
In all form the fittest, the richest and the mightiest.
When desires end
An emptiness to my soul stings,
And treasured memories now haunt,
Heartache rhymes with mood swings,
As tears of grief constantly flaunt,
Tranquil in veins lays all my want.
Blooms of spring are now history,
Vibrant autumn blown by breeze,
Echoes and reflections end in mystery,
As the golden moments with time freeze,
Feelings of hurt can anyone squeeze ?
Those rosy paints that glowed in grace,
Sprouts of depression could not defend,
And ate throbbing hues to minutest trace,
A final point where all desires end,
Till body and soul advent an eternal blend.

Don't ever!
For the minutest fragment
of a second
think
he's better than I.
You're not wrong
to your scale
by your own measure.
The darkness you beheld,
treading its clear paths;
its schemes you bloomed;
well enough,
kept the early stars
in gloom.
Your seed soared.
The rightful's place
kept in the tunnel
in wait for the light.
The Source faded,
and so their hopes.
You never retired.
Till Today,
the place of the Source
you crave for him;
you value so dear.
He's better than I
you are tempted to think.
But
Never Dare!
For the firm resolve
of a determined soul,
You have no idea.
Just coz you're taken and I'm taken,
Don't lemme limit my love for you.
You're adored for who you're,
and that's enough but I guess you don't have a clue.
It's amazing how much we can give and receive within our boundaries
But guess no one ever chooses to take a preview
At times, your wisdom is something I can't withstand
Wisdom to an extent that you would often understand and choose to say, "I don't understand"
You've confused me more than anyone ever could-
One moment, your rudeness pushes me away,
Another moment, your generosity melts me away.
One moment, I would give up,
Another moment, I just give in.
It's your patience that drives me crazy,
Boils me in anger;
Then it's your patience that melts roaring clouds into hues of amber.
It's your patience that tests my limits,
Then it's your patience that has extended my limits...
It took me courage to be vulnerable,
Fear of rejection, fear of 'No's', fear of being turned down,
Fear of it not working out,
Fear of shame, fear of not being the best,
Fear of my mind being at someone's behest.
But when I overcame all of this fear,
I did find a world beyond-
A world of joy,
A world of love,
A world of wholeheartedness,
A world of kindness,
A fearless world free of regrets.
Just coz you can't get the right words to express,
Just coz you don't want your heart to be seen,
Just coz you've settled with calling it 'feelings unseen',
Just coz you have chosen to appear as not having minutest of clue,
Don't lemme limit my love for you
