Silent Atlas

It's 5:30 AM, sky bruised and quiet,
And he’s there at my feet, my loyal companion,
Eyes bright, no judgment, just need.
Out we go, one steady step, then another,
Field sprawled wide, we chase the edges of dawn.

Back home, the soft hum of her breathing,
Kids' backpacks lined, the day pulls at me
Like a string too tight, ready to snap.
She’ll mention Kirsty or Chanelle, that sour glance,
The unseen weight settling deep in my chest.

Dog's been sick on the sofa,
a mess to clean up.
Gaffer’s on edge; I was late last week,
Late again today, but I hold tight, keep my mouth shut,
Because I know my place in this ticking machine,
My hands on the wheel, the weight on my back.

Site hazards, the grind, every move a risk,
One wrong turn, it’s out the door,
No job, no check, holiday slipping away,
Kids’ smiles are just dreams I’m not sure I can keep.
And here I stand, silent, loaded with fear,
Shoulders set to hold all we need.

The night job was gone in a flash,
Zero hours, zero thought, zero hope.
I glance at my phone, every message a pull
To face the ones I’ve not seen in too long,
Mates left waiting in the empty hours
While I traded my joy for duty’s hard call.

Fuel’s low, spirits cracked,
And there she is, our little girl,
Waiting to dance with a smile I missed.
I sit here, empty tank, empty hands,
Wondering if I’ll break, if I’ll bend or stay still,
When the phone rings, it’s him, my friend,
The voice I forgot could ease this weight.

With words of work, a hand held out,
A site to supervise, steady pay on the rise,
I take his offer, grip tight to his faith.
And in his strength, I feel my own,
A quiet reminder that I am not alone.

So I go home, kiss foreheads soft,
Tell her I’m sorry for what I can’t always say.
My battle is quiet, a shadow I bear,
So they don’t know the scars I wear,
So they don’t feel the tremor beneath,
The moments I wrestle, the pain I hide.

Because I am here for them always.
A silent Atlas, strength worn down,
But still, I carry the world, weight and all.
And tomorrow, I’ll wake with dawn’s bruised sky,
Dog by my side, loyalty unasked but given.
And I’ll breathe, keep walking, one step, then the next,
Knowing that love is the light I keep,
And for them, I’ll rise, I’ll stand, I’ll protect.

Varsity Reunion

Reunion, Reunion I have to go
To meet those friends I used to know.
And talk about the days gone by
When we were young with spirits high.

But, all I found was a money speech
Asking for me to reach deeply
Into my pocket for Dollars, or Pounds.
The amount they wanted had no bounds.

With speeches long and thirst so strong
The glass was dry, when toasts came along.
With glasses raised and wine no more
We sucked the vapour to its core.

While standing listening with a wandering mind
I looked once more to find a friend

There she stood with long blonde hair
I could not help but stop and stare.
A figure slim, and breasts that call
Enough to make me crawl a wall.

She turned, our eyes met
My heart soared like a fighter jet.
I turned away to catch my breath
My lungs had stopped, I was near death.

When I looked back, she was gone
Where she’d been, there was no one

I scurried dazed without much grace
My soul now captured in a nostalgic chase.
Her name. Her name. I must find her name
I was now a player in the courting game

Quickly reading the guest list
I came across the girl I’d missed.
Then paging through my memory’s blur
I thought of how I had remembered her.

Thin scraggly hair, a pimply wimp
With glasses horned, she looked a shrimp.
A pathetic picture, I now recall
The lonely wallflower of the Rag Ball

Why in my youth was it hard to know
An ugly duckling into a swan might grow?
Or a creepy caterpillar worm
Into a butterfly would turn?

Why did I treat her so mean?
Why had I not seen her beauty?

I must apologise and admit my shame
For my role played in youth’s cruel game!
I’ll tell her now I am glad we met
She taught me lessons I won’t forget.

I’ll tell her that never again
Will I say a word that brings pain.
I’ll always make low spirits raise
With words of hope and heartfelt praise.

Some days later we finally met
Just as she was boarding her private jet.
As her handsome companion opened the door,
She told me sweetly “You are such a bore”

In My Head

I'm strong
I do belong
I long
To know right from wrong
Let me sing this bizarre song

In the speed of light,
I feel sudden might
I feel as if I'm taking flight
You and I will be together tonight

I feel a lot of dread in my head
I want some happiness instead
You belong in my arms of love
You're an angel from high above

I'm bold
I've been told
I'm cold
I need someone to hold...
Let the future unfold

You're so insecure
You're so beautiful in your pain
I'm so hopeless and unsure
You're so crazy - you drive me insane

I feel a lot of dread in my head
I want some happiness instead
You belong in my arms of love
You're an angel from high above

I'm alive
I will survive
I arrive
Undone in your embrace
Carressing your gracious face
Lost and found without a trace

You lift me up when I feel like dying
You lift me up when I feel like falling
You erase all my fears of freefalling
You answer my call when you hear me calling
You make me bold and fight the good fight
You make me stand tall through it all
How are you doing this splendid night?
You make my low spirits rise and fall

I feel a lot of dread in my head
I want some happiness instead
You belong in my arms of love
You're an angel from high above

Without a doubt,
I feel there's no way out
I don't know what you're talking about
I'm walking God's route
I won't pout...or shout...

In the speed of light,
You're so endearing with all your might
I want to own the night
You're so precious in my sight
I wish I could be full of delight
And forget all the dread in my head tonight

I feel a lot of dread in my head
I want some happiness instead
You belong in my arms of love
You're an angel that I've been thinking of

**A deep Look Into The eyes of the Poet Destroyer**

~A Tim Ryerson Collaboration~

Unflinching Soul

I am worried
I am in despair
I am tensed
I am in low spirits

My song sounded melancholic
My thought turned pessimistic
My emotion became lifeless
My life seemed purposeless

My heart lost its rhythm
Cold shivers rippled my blood
My pulse missed its beat
Vacuum nested every nerve of my head.

I started my journey from somewhere to reach nowhere
I found myself toiling in the sands of dreary nightmare
I continued my cruise on the shoreless ocean
Searching for a home in an unknown destination

Life seemed to be a battlefield and I transformed into a weaponless warrior
Fighting with an unknown enemy for a mysterious reason

Tears were racing with the valley of blood
Anguish supplanted the graveness of a flash flood
Having fed with very little hope of survival
I gravely waited for the life's arrival.

Sailing unchaperoned in the gigantic world,
I realised that life is a personalized game and the triumph embosoms the unflinching souls.

Deep Silence

Deep silence
interrupted by a brutal storm...
wind lashing,
buckets of rain pouring;
lamp-posts were lit at four,
as dakness advanced with haste!

The brick-paved square,
where the artists gathered
to display their talents
is empty and desperately laments;
the struggling musicians
don't play the flute and the violin...
seeking attention and sympathy,
but the desolation adds to their imagery!
How sad is for the painters
to put their brushes away in wooden cases...
when the inspiration was at its peak;
pitifully watch the pigeons,
drenched and shaking, with nothing to eat...
kindly offer them what they seek!

Deep silence
descended on the gloomy town,
once enbued by passion
and thrilled emotion...
now no longer present;
the perfumed peach trees in bloom
have been stripped of their soft petals...
to embellish the deserted,glittering streets!
Listen...an harmonica is playing at close distance,
to up-lift the low spirits subdued by doom!

When Nature Finally Awakens

When Nature finally awakens,
one needs to stop as the perplexed ravens,
and watch fragile butterflies dance...
celebrating the beauty of the radiant Heavens.

The flowers that we touched in recent dreams,
are awaiting for rain as they sway in fields of gold,
dreaming of nighttime glimmering with moonbeams...
will the moon's breath keep them as warm as yellow marigold?

When Nature finally awakens,
and snow melts turning into rivers,
follow them and discover new amazing things...
from blooming hills to harmonious plains.

Stare at the star-lit sky and ponder over this mystery:
since creation nothing has ever changed...
we see it as others have and be part of that reality:
feeling its profundity and be persuaded.

When Nature finally awakens,
our low spirits become sprightly and new;
it's rebirth can induce more thrills...
why not be adventurous and sparkle as dew?

I Am She

I am 'SHE'.
The form of Goddess 'Durga' & 'Laxmi',
I used to be.

But where the hell I'm today?
Where in the search of
my own identity,
I have to pay.
In this patriarchy,
my soul has been killed
& body has been groped.
Each & every step outside
has become exploit for me.
Eyes scanning my body,
& indecent remarks for me
everywhere,I use to hear and see.

I am languishing here,
living with low spirits
& fed up of my bug-bear.
Of being raped & abducted,
I always have the fear.
I'm anguished in this milieu,
sighing and sheding tears
in the corner of my room.
My regular nightmarish experiences
made me to cry over my doom.

More than chilly & pepper sprays,
propriety in society will help me.
And I'm waiting for
that pleasant day when
safety will go hand in hand with 'SHE'..

Premium Member Depression

Low spirits and utter despair,
She had lost all her flair,
Time stagnated !

How long could the wait last,
Dejected heart to the full to blast,
Incurable hopeless !

Sun could not shadow gloominess,
Her very being deprived of happiness,
Hope against hope !

The injury quite a deep and severe,
His vengeance extremely clear,
The wretchedness !

Don't suppress else will depress,
Just look beyond there's life,
End up melancholy, live to strife,
Shun sadness !

No recession can everlast,
Essential to counter depression is,
Dispassion,
Dissociate,
Flagellate,
Backfire,
Slam your passion !
Be sassy and warble !!

Strange Sos

Once, in a certain ship that sailed
Storage of drinking water failed

Tossed on the salty sea so deep
Perplexed, the captain did never sleep

Filled with fear, he sent SOS message
To nearby ships expecting salvage

“Lower your buckets where you are”
‘The good word’ came from afar

Although the SOS sounded strange
He ordered, ‘collect water in this range’

The water so collected tasted good
Hearts abroad, rejoiced over that news so good

The sailor knew that a brook there did flow
With good waters to make the weary glow

The anxiety disappeared like mist
That’s touched by the sun’s fist

Extinguished faces lit up
Those in low spirits were lifted up

Today, examine do you like that sailor somewhere
Have a good word for someone you care?
