"PARIS"

Her perfume follows him
from room to room
Lily-of-the-Valley-Roses
lingers in the corners
of his mind, the hollow of
his neck
a soft kiss some hot moment back
in time, a vintage tune

Breeze blows her curtains
wide open
her streets of soft pink velvet
pulsating
Cherry Blossom,
her Empress Trees
all her rapturous city's noises
sway in time to
all his heart’s
crying voices

Her Church steeple,
his place of worship
god’s altar
drink her wine
his hair ruffled
genuflection,
Choir of Angels sweet cry.

Spring rain softly caressing
his Winter window panes
stained glass
Cognac Kisses, sweet
nude vertigo
luscious dream,
wanton blisses,
his last golden
Libertango

"Snapdragons and Dandy Lions - Part 2"

The day was cooling down
pressing itself close into
the amythest and musk pink early eve
as the eggshell pale blue sky rolled over into
Astor Purple to get ready for sleep.
The Ostrich Ferns rustled,
We’d frightened the Blue Tongue, he’d run back to his lair.
Coming in from the Ocean now
there came a light breeze.
I was looking for four leaf clovers
and Skink eggs but they were to be found nowhere
while she knelt in her rock garden planting
Agapanthas, Gladiolus, Calla Lillies,
Daffodils, Fresias and Pansies -
there were loose bulbs everywhere
and packets of Tulip
and Blue-Eyed Susan seeds.

Sooty, the Black cat sat
and watched with knowing sly eyes
twitched his whiskers, licked a paw on ‘his’ Window Sill,
he looked very wise.
We’d been making Daisy Chains,
she’d placed on our hair like Crowns.
Of course,
3’s always a bad number, it's never neat,
there’d been fights in between – still,
we were her adoring subjects, her princesses and
SHE our beautiful and kind QUEEN.

“Do you know why I love Snapdragons the best?” the QUEEN declared,
“They’re the knights of this garden –
they get a bad rap because of their name.
Look at their faces though,
they’re ferocious not frightened of anything,
great courage they always stand firm.
It’s the blasted Dandy Lions,
well they scare easy,
blow away every time
there’s a storm
and they leave a damned mess”.

She looked at us, and said,
“You’re like those Snapdragons my beautiful girls.
Always stand together.
Always stand firm”.

“Next Chapter”

There will always be a next chapter
Written or not, this is of no matter
What matters is the colour forming in your world

Black is not a colour, it dominates, shades and swallows other colours up,
It exists to be blended with White, a vacant aberration one can easily fill in and colour over
What one is looking for is the colour in the spectrum, not yet found
To be newly created with all available emotions to hand and heart and mind

There will always be a next chapter
Written or not, this is of no matter
What matters is the colour forming in your world

Beginning
End? there never is an end

What matters is the colour forming in your world

"COMMUNION"

You speak to me in tongues
I hear you with my heart
I feel you with my mind
Like a Spring bloom, I am slowly unfurling
Like a ripe plum, you taste me in my rhymes
You touch me black ink injected drug potent
Red Poppies between lines
I sense you in your dreams
They are swelling next to mine
Like a drunk, I swallow all your delicious words
You turn into endless Golden Chalices of Altar Wine

I see you through your mirrors
COMMUNION
You see me, walking now through mine.

Premium Member A Love Like This

Beside the river flowing over smooth
Stones, dark and shadowy waters,
Healing me with hues of summertime truths…
Echoing past the whimsical blue, streaming
Alive like the music playing in the distance
Meeting my heart’s hope with gentling
Blistering my memory with harmony, blessing
The promise of tomorrow – history in the making
Yesterday, the past, long gone from today…
Yet, it lives in my history, my memory, my heart
Where it aches to be felt once again… listening
Like a verse in the wind, blaming the early times,
The moment I decided to make him mine
The moment he realized love had come by…
Like a wise, old promise… awakening the beautiful
Inside two hearts who finally knew the meaning
Beneath the intimate, the passionate, the fleeting moment…
A diamond sparkling tenderly, brilliant as the kiss
That happened when we knew the first breath of bliss…
To finally feel a love so tempting, a love like this!

Barefoot Bleeds Love

(Lovejoy-Burton/October 2018)
for my daughter, Georgia

"THAT crazed girl improvising her music. Her poetry, dancing upon the shore, Her soul in division from itself Climbing, falling She knew not where, Hiding amid the cargo of a steamship, Her knee-cap broken, that girl I declare A beautiful lofty thing, or a thing Heroically lost, heroically found."

The Poet Pleads with the Elementals

THE Powers whose name and shape no living creature knows
Have pulled the Immortal Rose;
And though the Seven Lights bowed in their dance and wept,
The Polar Dragon slept,
His heavy rings uncoiled from glimmering deep to deep:
When will he wake from sleep?
Great Powers of falling wave and wind and windy fire,
With your harmonious choir
Encircle her I love and sing her into peace,
That my old care may cease;
Unfold your flaming wings and cover out of sight
The nets of day and night.
Dim powers of drowsy thought, let her no longer be
Like the pale cup of the sea,
When winds have gathered and sun and moon burned dim
Above its cloudy rim;
But let a gentle silence wrought with music flow
Whither her footsteps go.

"Bugger the "Group" mentality. I say burn it up with a revolutionary act, start your own Group. If you didn't exist, there would be no world. You are your own world, your own Cosmos, you are luminescent, keep on shining - the people who matter will move towards your light. Leave the other befuddled fools walk in the dark holding hands, following tails like sheep. This is a fantastic expression of your individuality. Always keep speaking your TRUTH." LLB

"Bedknobs, Bell Curves and a Broomstick"

Words of wisdom
sitting in bed
reading a story
from another person's head

A short story
titled "At the Edge of the Bell Curve"
registers ding ding ding
this is a mind
worthy to swim

Everyone has a story
some breathing fire
flying courageous
Majestic
saving people
outspread
Dragon Wings

Others are just
walking talking
milk and honey
Love-Ins
tap tap tapping
seeking numbers
for competitive wins

Heroic Acts
of pulling hidden
courageous minds
up from the road cracks
Now, that's pure,
GOLDEN

This is the true story
Blue Birds singing for
honey and flapjacks
hidden pearls
are the gems...

now there's no
turning back
ever again -
your REAL STORY
begins.

"Angel Through the Wires"

Are you an Angel?
Speaking
through my words?
You stand by me always,
as I walk roughshod
through this world.

I see your reflection
in my eyes
Mirror Silent
Revolution Image,
but you are not here,
You are in my dreams,
a cameo appearance
every now and again,
a beautiful surprise,
you say,

"Always speak The TRUTH, never tell lies".

You say,
"Hold my HEART
in yours.
Here is the real fire -
ETERNAL DOOR -
GOLDEN CHORD,
it stretches never broken,
always
TRUST
my word,
BELIEVE
it is always there to hold,
although unspoken".

You are singing
me HOME,
I answer your call
returning
to your peaceful
golden world, your
Tender Mooring shores.

Angel
road map on your skin,
you showed me
when I was a mere child
Your mirrors wet with tears,
you were frightened to let go -
You looked right through my windows,
8 years of my soul.
You said,

"Lay with me, for a little while
listen to me breathe",

you whispered in the dark,
so soft and gently.
Safe from blood suckers
under gauze net,
smell of Tiger Oil
and Frangipani,
in the Summer
of our impending loss and
your heart wrenching regret.

You and I,
we went for a little sleep
for a little while,
you fell first,
while I listened
to you breathe and
my eyelids dropped
with childish fears,
we both lay together
dreaming
dreams so still

We went to sleep
for but a little while
I met you in my dreams.

You delivered to me
all your stories
all throughout the little while
all throughout the years.
