Dressed From the Inside Out

it's Fashion Week in New York City and the people just can't wait
to see the lastest trends that the designers will demonstrate
to all the fashionistas with their obssession to impress
tis the season to be a woman of style in the way that you dress
for true fashion is about representing one's identity by the clothing one wears
but fashion is fickle and it's a crazy and unpredictable world out there
one day you may be in and the next day you may be out
but if your wearing the garments of God your fashion style is never in doubt

celebrity endorsements, designer labels and someone's logo on your butt cheeks
there's nothing wrong with the external facade but it's the internal you need to seek
you've been baptized and now you are a new creation in Christ
wearing Divine Designer garments to go with your new life
you have been stripped of the old way of dressing
now wearing the virtues of God in a way most impressing
high fashion from that Universal Designer known as Our Lord God
wearing His Divine creations to go with your brand new heart

Patience is now the pantyhose where your divine foundation starts
Compassion is now that delicate silk blouse worn over your heart
Kindness displayed like a heavenly pair of shoes upon your feet
Humility is now that stylish hat that makes your outfit complete
Forgiveness worn like a precious and expensive pair of gloves
and last but not least that glorious overcoat that God calls love
dressed in Divine Designer garments from the inside out
dressed for success with a stylish spiritual clout

you don't need a Louis Vitton sash around your waist
if you have the Belt of Truth cinched firmly in place
you won't need a Ralph Lauren chemise to cover your back
as the Breastplate of Righteousness will protect from any and all attacks
you don't need a pair of Jimmy Choos stiletto high heels
as the Readiness of the Gospel of Peace is a much better deal
you don't require a Prada handbag just to show you're with it
if you have in your hand the Biblical Sword of the Spirit
and it's not necessary to put on Ban de Soleil
as the Shield of Faith will cover you each and every day
and you don't need a Kate Spade hat upon your head
as the Helmet of Salvation will have you spirit led
dressed from the inside out now totally and spiritually clad
dressed in the virtues of God, the finest garments to be had

you remember that one time when ava fell off the swings and cut her knee?
how everyone laughed at her for her childish hubris in thinking she could jump and land,
unscathed, from that high a distance?
how the laughter roared as they watched a 9-year-old cry
and clutch her knee with both hands,
creating a burrow for blood under her nails?
how, without a moment of hesitation,
you ran to her, helped her up, and walked her to the nurse’s office?

yeah. didn’t think you’d remember it, if i’m being totally honest.
well, that moment, watching you put her arm around your shoulder for balance,
so she could hop her way down a flight and half of stairs for a single band-aid,
i think I fell in love with you.
maybe love is an exaggeration,
but looking at these old photos of us,
with your hair flying in the wind and my hair tucked in your helmet
as i clutched your waist for dear life,
the two of us,
flying down the freeway on your motorcycle,
i can’t think of a better word to describe my feelings for you.

these pictures,
now covered in layers of dust,
remind me of everything that could have been.
of everything that will never be.
i lost you so many addictions ago,
i guess i should’ve known when your words turned to lies,

and your lies turned to routine,
but i didn’t want to believe that the girl
with the bright pink hair and tacky leather jackets,
the girl that i had fallen so hard for,
was now gone.
that she had been replaced with someone who simply
went through the motions every day,
no longer able to feel anything for anyone,
someone who looked in the mirror,
wishing that the reflection would be blank.

the doctors say that your liver gave out,
but i think that the real cause was that you gave up.
i saw how hard you fought,
how you ran away from who you’d become,
leaving us behind in a race to find yourself.
you were gone long before the red line representing your heart’s last efforts flattened.
you’ve been gone so long that i’ve had to rely on these pictures
to make sure that you were ever real.
you’ve become nothing but a memory,
a hope, a wish for better,
a tragic story that i wish i never was a part of.

i miss you,
more than you could ever know,
more than i can ever process.
i miss you because no matter what happened,
no matter where you went,
no matter how long you’ve been gone,
i still loved you.

Making It Great In 2008 (Part 18): the Legacy Lives On: Going To the Next Level By Passing the Baton

many of us are living lives of deficiency
not functioning at our full capacity
running on a tank that is half full
coasting in a life that's tired and dull
we make it through each week but only by a hair
TGIF, thank God Friday is now here
we're talented beings who have it going on
but none of that matters if we don't pass the baton
to move to the next level we need to realize
that all the gifts we get from God need to be maximized
to move to the next level take someone along
to making 2008 great by passing the baton

God has an anointing for each of us
God has an appointing for each of us
and despite what it is we think of ourselves
God is the medicine for our spiritual health
so fall down on your knees and to Him submit
going to the next level with a renewed spirit
all you have to do is give God all the praise
going to the next level elevated and now raised
living up to your full potential and no longer stalling
going to the next level by answering your calling
anointed, appointed now it's time for preparation
so let God guide you to your chosen destination
as all things work together for the good
for those whom love the Lord as they should
going to the next level by letting God use you
passing the baton and lighting someone else's fuse

the devil will give you hell so just hold on
as the army of God is on the horizon
the devil will attack your children and your heirs
just stay prayerful for God's Angels will appear
when the Philistines went out on a battle patrol
they were unaware that the new king was under God's control
down on his knees King David did pray
that God would give him the victory that day

the power of prayer is the manifest
that you trust God to answer your request
the power of prayer is more than happenstance
it's the belief that God will change your circumstance
to be placed by the Spirit in a position to stand and fight
for what you believe in and what you know is right
to put on the full battle armor of God
to put your enemies on alert and on guard
donning the Helmet of Salvation and carrying the Shield of Faith
feet shod in the Gospel of Peace and wearing a Righteous Breastplate
to know that God has already claimed
the victory for you in Jesus' name
so continue making it great in 2008 as the legacy lives on
on the next level at your full potential while passing the baton

A Rift In Time Part 1

A Rift in Time

By Elton Camp

Henry Higgins, B.A., M.A. Ph.D., graduate in physics from the Massachusetts Institution of Technology, is missing. Born August 8, 1950, he was thought of as a genius by some, but as a crackpot by others. Revolutionary theories on the possibility of time travel that he presented at scientific gatherings received a mixture of applause and ridicule. None of his articles have seen publication in peer-reviewed journals.

How his machine works is of a technical nature, thus certain to be of insignificant interest to the readers of this account. Suffice it to say that it works very well. Henry had seen his device disappear and reappear multiple times after being programmed to slide both forward and backward in time.

Finally came the day to test it in person. Surprisingly athletic for a man of his years, Henry strapped himself into place before the control panel, adjusted his eyeglasses and pulled a protective helmet over his thick, gray hair. He set the chronometer to early August of 2040 to determine if he was still living at that advanced age and what honors had been accorded him by the scientific community.

With a barely-discernable jerk, the time machine began its slide into the future, the red cancel button prominently alongside the digital display of the date. The world outside the device became a blur and Henry heard only a low hum from the engine. All seemed to be well as the years rolled by on the chronometer. At first, that is.

Henry noted with surprise the muscle atrophy and skin changes associated with extreme age. A slight looseness of his helmet caused him to discover that he was now as bald as his father had been in his late eighties. Henry’s eyeglasses no longer allowed him to read the control panel clearly. The truth hit him--he was aging along with the passing years. The inanimate time machine had shown no such effect, but it was different with a biological organism. He desperately punched the cancel button, realizing that, if his future self was not still living, his death was impending.

To his relief, the chronometer slowed and stopped. Without input from Henry, the time device began to move backward in time, slowly at first, and then at a brisk clip. By the time the read-out showed Henry’s present, his physical deterioration had been reversed and all was as before.

Premium Member Searching For Area 51

Dragon likes secrets but can’t keep them… UH UH! No way!
But he’s also, often confused by what he sees every single day.
Now he got interested in Area 51, and wanted a meet and greet…
Of aliens, so when he disappeared we sought him in the streets.

We checked out Hwy 51, mile marker 51, and the 51 mph speed limit sign.
I know it’s weird, but for us 51 mph is perfect, for giving speeding fines.
We checked with the Sheriff of Crazyland cause of the history they’ve had.
We were finally, really worried, and about to list him in a lost and found ad.

He told us of visiting with an alien, earlier, on a silver motorcycle, here about.
Silver jumpsuit, helmet, boots, and silver all the rest… so we put an APB out!
I was getting more than worried… As panicked, I was very quickly becoming!
Next time I’ll listen, when my little widdle Dragon starts his mouth a running!

Suddenly in the front yard, in the sky, came a flash of silver and green light!
And out popped The Green Lantern plus the Silver Surfer, in all their might!
From behind the Silver Surfer, Dragon leaped into my open and inviting arms.
Naturally with us both, landing flat upon the ground… stopping all my alarms.

The Silver Surfer had given Dragon a fun ride, but Dragon had gotten kinda lost!
He’d looked away, and Dragon being curious, had at that moment, wandered off.
Then Dragon was kidnapped by an alien gang, who wanted to sell him to a Zoo!
In Alpha Centauri! But his fire saved him, it became way too hot, when it blew!

Dragon was scared, as he learned not all alien’s are good, as he bowed his head.
Plus flying a space ship isn’t good, when fire blows all around, it has been said!
Thankfully, they’d needed an SOS, which had saved our little sweet Dragon guy.
Then the Silver Surfer & Green Lantern, brought our little one home, now wise!

Of course a naptime was in order, as we tucked him into his soft, safe bed, too.
But he now knew: Alien Super Heroes do exist, and that dreams can come true…
And to never go anywhere without, his family, with him, but we can now say…
For a Hero Dragon and his new friends, it was an Interstellar Great News Day!

Some bad guys learned that: Dragon Heroes are just too hot to handle! No cliché!
And Dragon was good… for the rest of the Day! Thank goodness! And Hooray!

Trust a Stranger

You're walking out the front entrance
Leaving work behind you
Forgetting the hustle of the day
Looking forward to a quite drink

Chilling out
In your
Soft
Comfy
Favourite
Chair

Staring into an open fire
Being carried away with the beat of the music
When all of a sudden
You're startled

By the thundering crackling
Sound from the exhaust
Of a oversized shinny motor bike

A leather cladded rider dismounts
Blocking your path
As you stand stunned & glued to the spot
The rider comes up to your face
Through a tinted visor on a black helmet
You hear a soft gentle familiar voice saying

Put this on and let's go
All your fears flash in front of you
But your censors say your safe
You allow this gentle giant
To carefully place the open face helmet over your head
Slowly secure it under your chin
Hands you some wrap around sun glasses
Without a word

The rider shows you how to
Comfortably mount a bike
Indicates you to wait until he is on
Gives you the nod
As you mount the bike

Cuddle into the rider
looking over his right shoulder
Smelling & feeling the leather on your bare skin
As you clasp your hands together
Around the stomach of the rider

The bike starts
Startled by the noise you jump
And thrusted back as we take off

Slowly through the main street
Slow down even more for the school zone
Swerving
Swaying
Dodging
In and out
Of the afternoon traffic

Leaving the bottle neck behind
With the confusion and worry
Hitting the open road
Winding the throttle wide open

The purring of the pipes
Echoing off on coming cars
The thumping of the motor
Rising up through the seat

The wind caressing your face
As we brake hard and throw
The bike down into a left hand lean
Around the corner in one motion
Pick the bike up and throw down
Into a right hand corner

Dancing
Up
Down
And around

Up the hill onto the flat
Surrounded trees
The afternoon sun strobing through the trees

Behind the trees
In the paddocks
Prancing
Dancing
Meres and foals

Back into town
Where I stop at your place
I dismount
Extend my hand to help you off
Lovingly remove your helmet
Tie it on the sissy bar
Jump on the bike

With a crack from the pipes
The engine roars
Burning the tar with my back tyre
Leaving you standing in the cutter

Dumbfounded
Bewildered
Tingling
Laughing and smiling

Heart Or Head?

I was lost in the world and thought that to be happy was to settle
I thought that true love or the one was just a matter of fiction

I had caged my heart in a box made of metal
And made my work more like an addiction

I thought when you had kids with someone you had to always be with them
Be responsible meet her needs and do the right thing

I thought it was forever even if my heart said it should end
I thought i had to honor her and give her the ring

The many times she put me down the times she hurt me inside and out
I still stayed and said its your job to put up with it because you have kids

I never thought i would ever find what true love was all about
Its as if love was on the auction block and i had all the low bids

But then the strangest thing happend to me when i had givin up hope
When i was upset and coming home from work i saw her walking by

I thought to myself do i have a chance and my mind replied and said nope
Then i thought i could keep going but she really caught my eye

So i said what the heck and turned my bike around too talk to her
I was so nervouse i forgot to take off my helmet

I tried to say something smooth but my mind was just a blur
My words came out shaky and i started to swet

I asked her for her number and if i could take her out to eat
She replied ever softly and granted my request

My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest with every beet
Because somehow i knew she was not like the rest

She said yes but she never saw my face so why would she agree
I could have ben disfigured or had a third eye

So i asked her why she said yes and she said it was how you spoke to me
She said she figured i was a nice guy

So anyway we met again and it was love at first sight
The second that we saw eachother it was like an instant connection

So iguess i can say my heart was right
And it pulled me in the right direction

People always say to listen to your head and your life will be better
Because listening to your heart will only get you pain

And to those people is why i write this letter
Because when i listend to my heart it wasnt the same

You see my head said to leave and i didnt have a chance
But my heart said to give it a go

And now i have true romance
And a love that makes me glow

Oh To Visit the Moon.

So I began my dayfeeling rather gay and like my life was full of potential.
So set out on a journey filled with lots of exciting adventures.
I snatched the giant paper from the table along with a purple ruler and I conjourded up a
plan for my grand adventure.
This adventure is huge like nothing before and I fear the
consequences of messing up my plans for my expensive rocketship.
Yes I said a rocketship that is my grand adventure to go to the moon and meet the people.
I hear stories of these folk and I am rather intreged and that is why i find the cardboard box
big enough to hide my dreams and carry out my schemes.
To some it seems rather silly but you can call me Billy, Billy the astronaut is what they will
call me.
I grab my crayons and make my knobs and the gages under the window.
I run into the house and crab the glue so my rocketship can hold the gas that will take me to
the moon.
I put my helmet on and i open up the door.
To some this may just be a flap but to me it holds the key.
The key to a new and unfamiliar place one that I will explore.
Once i tune into the captain he gives me the go.
He counts down from ten and the adventure begins.
Once he says that magic word my rocketship takes off.
I soar into the sky way up high and i way good bye to my mommy and cry just a little tear.
I fear that these people might find my coulture so unique.
Find me rather odd and attach tubes to both my feet.
They will read my mind and find my rocketship is small, they send me home with a
boy name Joe and off to my house we go.
Once we arrive it all is very clear "Billy the Astronaut" they cry "you have come back alive!"
I scream "I am not alone this is my new friend Joe! Joe is from the moon you see and has
come to teach us things.
Things that will save our world lets all greet him with peace!"
They all smile and greet my new friend.
My rocketship has been lots of fun and now i have come to know, just how much fun one
Can have when he thinks of fun.
My rocketship is in my room awaiting its next trip.
I love my rocketship you see so next we'll go to Mars and Ill bring my friends the stars.
The stars from mars my rocketship will make this possible.
So I smile happily
For I am Billy the Astronaut and the people all love me.

Don Quixote Golf East

On one night,
is it because of a bewitched full moon?
while driving my rusty shaking junk car
I became Don Quixote de la Mancha
mounted on Rozinante holding a lance under the arm aslant,
and with a full gallop, dashing into the battle field, through the street where
the full moon was hanging thirty degree above the sky between forests eastward.

The trees standing both sides on the street
dyed by reddish-yellowish gray moonbeam in silhouette
were the windmill sails whirling their gigantic arms in air to assail me.

The red and green one-eyed giants
often met on the way eastward were the fat and ugly
demon-possessed skins of red wine that must have slain.

Flourishing lance to the right and left
while giving spurs to Rozinante again and again
to advance rapidly, I found myself in the middle
of enemy territory before becoming aware of it,
detouring annoying barricades, I was running through
the path between ramparts while ducking a shower of arrows,
came to the endless water front where disabled Rozinante fell.

When raging waves come and hit the breakwater
for the water cannot advance any further or is able to return,
the waves break up the hundreds and thousands of beads and
return to the bottomless water while flushing its silvery blue scales.

And when sprays of water that dived into the deepest sea
gush out from its bottom belching fire, it rises to the sky
and becomes a gigantic dragon and swallows the moon.

In the darkness where the dragon gathering dark clouds
after swallowing the moon the rain falls, the torrential rain
hits Mambrino’s helmet mercilessly.

Then, Don Quixote kneels to make the sign of the cross
while patting a breathless Rozinante lying on this desolated waterfront.

The cross he made falls on the sands,
the cross he made mourns while washing away in the water.

[Someday,
some may sing Don Quixote with the finest lute in hand.
Praise the gentleman Don Quixote de la Mancha
with silvery voice in one accord, with unforgettably kind remarks:

the one who lived true life of knight is
Don Quixote de la Mancha
the knight of knights, the hero of heroes.]

In the playground of imagination

I'll climb
the tallest mountains with no stress,
I just need~
a helmet, rope, and other climbing gear,
warm layers, good boots, maybe some fear,
a bit of my heart in my mouth,
to chase the butterflies from my belly—
no need to fight against my shadow~
it'll be too tight upon the rock,
wrapped
                     as image around
the creeps
   like a siamese twin
afraid to be

 u n j o i n e d...

  then, with gentleness,
without my blood running cold,
so the teeth of cold don’t bite too deep,
                     up my legs will climb~
              a step at a time,
       slow and steady~toward the top,
trusting my body to do the rest~
just pausing...
to refuel my throat and tum,
sip from the hydration bladder,
and from my backpack, grub a hiking snack...

When at the peak—/\
show me the bullet,
let me bite~

now too far for my feet to still be warm,

       release the wings~~~
                                        let me f l y
             like an eagle~~~
                                    let me s o a r
far into the sky where no star gleams
and no moon glows nor sun shines,
where angels peep~and I can see them
and the roars of lions are like
                                          w h i s p e r s
         and thunderbolt shouts are dim,
where s i l e n c e is loud, yet never speaks
where lights are like shadows,
with f l i c k s brighter than the sun,
and fires that burn with no flame—
                                just pale blue s m o t h e r s ~
in a womb so sullen and solemn.

Will I get friends among the a l i e n s,
if I fly~~~in a saucership, oxygen-filled,
and with dinitrogen oxide~ to force a laugh,
to rise from where l o n e l i n e s s
     has thrown me:
        down in the dump;
            face like a wet weekend;
                just to have the blues;
what if the saucercraft c r a s h - l a n d e d ?
Will I be found—still human—
       like in
"There are Martians Among Us?"

But wait...

are the lights on, and no one at home?
am I far away with the fairies?

If true,
then there is
a method
to this
