Dressed From the Inside Out

it's Fashion Week in New York City and the people just can't wait
to see the lastest trends that the designers will demonstrate
to all the fashionistas with their obssession to impress
tis the season to be a woman of style in the way that you dress
for true fashion is about representing one's identity by the clothing one wears
but fashion is fickle and it's a crazy and unpredictable world out there
one day you may be in and the next day you may be out
but if your wearing the garments of God your fashion style is never in doubt

celebrity endorsements, designer labels and someone's logo on your butt cheeks
there's nothing wrong with the external facade but it's the internal you need to seek
you've been baptized and now you are a new creation in Christ
wearing Divine Designer garments to go with your new life
you have been stripped of the old way of dressing
now wearing the virtues of God in a way most impressing
high fashion from that Universal Designer known as Our Lord God
wearing His Divine creations to go with your brand new heart

Patience is now the pantyhose where your divine foundation starts
Compassion is now that delicate silk blouse worn over your heart
Kindness displayed like a heavenly pair of shoes upon your feet
Humility is now that stylish hat that makes your outfit complete
Forgiveness worn like a precious and expensive pair of gloves
and last but not least that glorious overcoat that God calls love
dressed in Divine Designer garments from the inside out
dressed for success with a stylish spiritual clout

you don't need a Louis Vitton sash around your waist
if you have the Belt of Truth cinched firmly in place
you won't need a Ralph Lauren chemise to cover your back
as the Breastplate of Righteousness will protect from any and all attacks
you don't need a pair of Jimmy Choos stiletto high heels
as the Readiness of the Gospel of Peace is a much better deal
you don't require a Prada handbag just to show you're with it
if you have in your hand the Biblical Sword of the Spirit
and it's not necessary to put on Ban de Soleil
as the Shield of Faith will cover you each and every day
and you don't need a Kate Spade hat upon your head
as the Helmet of Salvation will have you spirit led
dressed from the inside out now totally and spiritually clad
dressed in the virtues of God, the finest garments to be had

Overcoming the Temptation To Commit Sin

be not a receptacle to that spirit of sin
live by the word of God and be open to Him

in this day where the lines of morality have become blurred
where people believe and do all and anything that's absurd
caught up in the grasp of drugs and chemical dependency
caught up in the muck and mire of sexual immorality
yet society tries to explain away any and all aberrant behavior
and a psychiatric evaluation has become acceptable and favored
we're now subjected to the blame of others and their bad actions
subjected to the world's desensitized and apathetic reaction
overcoming the temptation to commit sin
to yield not to that demonic presence again and again

if you don't understand and comprehend the word of God
how do you know if you have any sin in your heart?
you need to read the word of God and follow His commands
the instructions on how to live sinless, God's master plans
to wrestle with the evil that may at times reside within
to overcome that sensation to go out and commit sin
you need to be exposed to God's laws and learn right from wrong
you need to do a self reflection and then come away strong
for it's one thing to do what is sinful if you don't have a clue
but it's a different story when you knowingly sin for the blame is now on you
to be disobedient and stray from God's life living instructions
will lead you down that crooked path of spiritual destruction
so think before you act and then lay it before God
pray on that temptation to sin and possess a contrite heart

to challenge that temptation to commit sin
just dwell on the word of God and not the unholiness of men
yet we continue to try and justify some of the things we do and say
we need to be truthful in our hearts and willing to change our ways
no longer to be arrogant and sanctimonious in this life
to be more humble and repentant as a child of the Lord Christ
we pretend to act like it's not us but everyone else
we need to take a hard look in the mirrors at ourselves first
to come to understand that this battle is not ours alone
to realize we need the strength and the power of the heavenly throne
to be rescued from that temptation of sin that's always hanging around
to be lifted up by the word of God and placed on higher ground
to turn to our savior, the Lord Jesus the Christ
to thank Him and praise Him for the gift of eternal life

Making It Great In2008 By Watching What Wise Men Do (Part 25)

we're all natural born watchers just looking around
at the TV, the Internet and newspapers all over town
be it something or somebody we usually just watch and wait
to look up to anything that may reinforce our faith
be it something constructive or counterproductive
to watch what others do and then try to imitate
to look at success and then try to emulate

the Wise Men, the Magi were 3 men you should look upon
for they knew to follow that star which was on the horizon
yet King Herod who was the ruler of that little town
could not spiritually ascertain what was really going down
he had heard that the nation of Israel would have a new born king
and then he became paranoid and anxious over everything
he was under the impression that God would have told him first
of the Saving Son who was about to appear on earth

God did a new thing in a completely new way
but many missed the true meaning of the birth that day
but the Magi those 3 Wise Men were in step with God
they were spiritually aware of what was about to start
it's not about man's logic, rationale nor reason
for God is the omnipotent One for all seasons
don't let anyone try to diminish the awesomeness of God's might
don't let anyone try to dim the brilliance that is His guiding light
making it great in 2008 by watching what wise men do
making it great in 2008 by believing that God is watching over you

to be struck by the mystery that is God's power
to believe that He is with you at any given hour
to follow that star whenever you hear the angels sings
to trust that God will guide you in everything
there's no need to fear the unknown or what's down the road
just watch what wise men do when they give God total control
by following a star which led them to a child born in a manger
and not to reveal what they found for to tell would have brought danger
and after presenting the gifts and thus fulfilling the prophecy
they left Bethlehem by another way and continued their journey

when God gives a revelation and then tells you to get up and leave
let no one stop nor hinder you from doing what you believe
don't ever put reason before revelation as reason will only go so far
for revelation is the exclamation that will reveal to you a star
so making it great in 2008 by watching what wise men do
and by following that star wherever it leads you to

The Atheist

I am reminded of the atheist who died. Or rather was presumably pronounced dead for a
short period of time, then revived. Upon waking, the atheist announced that he had gone
down the tunnel of white light, had seen his dead relatives and in fact met God. He must
have forgotten he didn’t believe in God. Together, perhaps in a city in the clouds or the
clouded foggy afterlife, God conversed with the atheist.

A crowd of people had gathered to hear what God had said.

“Did you ask God what the meaning of life was? ” people wanted to know.

“Did you ask God what the one true religion is? ” others wanted to know.

“Calm down! ” the atheist assured them.

“It just so happens, I asked each of those questions, ” the atheist concluded smugly.

“And? ” people demanded.

There was a pause as if the atheist was conducting the energy of God.

“God told me the meaning of life is…” the people braced for the answer, “Nothing, ” the
atheist said after a pause. He was ecstatic. The people were more than a little disheartened.

“Nothing, you mean there is no meaning to life? ” the people asked.

“Well, that’s one way of putting it, ” the atheist said laughing.

“Or another might mean nothing, as in, you get to make it up as you go along, ” the atheist
said smiling.

“It’s whatever you want it to be, ” the atheist explained.

The people did not seem to get it.

A few looked suicidal.

“Well, at least tell us the one true religion, ” the people demanded.

“Okay, ” the atheist assured them.

There was a pause again as if he was God’s instrument warming up.

“God told me the one true religion is…” the people braced for the answer, “Whichever one is
best for you, ” the atheist said confidently.

“You mean there is no true religion? ” the crowd shrieked.

“What are we going to do? ” the people asked starting to riot. They started to push and shove.

The people got really angry and violent, and they eventually tore the atheist apart. As the
atheist ascended to heaven he asked God how this could have been avoided.

God told the atheist, “There is only one way you could have avoided death…When the people
asked you what God said…you should have stuck to your guns and told them, ‘God…I don’t
believe in God.’”

A Mission of Mercy

In the book of John it relates the history
of Jesus' mission of Christian mercy
when Jesus encounters a Samaritan woman near a drinking well
it was a meeting between two nations whose relationship was one of hell
the Jews and the Samaritans did not get along
each felt the other's method of worship was inherently wrong
separated by paganistic practices and supposed sins
discrimination and name calling again, again and again
yet it doesn't seem that much different than today's society
where different ethnic groups display the same hate and hostility
but Jesus interjected Himself, He came to intervene
on a mission of mercy and tolerance never before seen
to bring abundant love and life to a world cloaked in misery
and give living water to quench the drought that has parched humanity
to step from behind the stained glass windows of the churches and synagogues
and into the hearts and minds of men and spread the goodness that is God

John touched on a theme that's occurred several times in the Scriptures
when a man of God meets a woman and a spiritual wedding can be pictured
on a mission of mercy to cross that Great Divide
to bring people together on the same spiritual side
Jesus told that Samaritan woman He knew of her past
about the five husbands that she had outlast
but whether she was divorced or widowed from them
it's not mentioned in the text so don't assume any sin
but Jesus saw beyond that and looked into her heart
He treated her with respect and held her in regard
she knew He was a prophet by His very words
she told Him of the things about Jews she had heard
Jesus the Christ then went into His missionary mode
He said in order to worship God you don't need any certain code
as there is no specific time nor any special place
for one to worship the God of righteousness, truth and grace
a mission of mercy is what Jesus came to convey
He even revealed to her who He really was that day

mankind has a problem looking pass the surface and into the heart
we can't seem to get the message that we're all equal in the eyes of God
we come with our bigotry, prejudice and hate
we can't even agree on the issue of faith
but Jesus the Christ gave us a lasting legacy
to love one another and to live life as a mission of mercy

Its All About the Right Relationship:Part 5 Minding Your Mind

so how do we learn to go about minding our minds?
it's about building the right relationship that with God you find

in the book of Mark it says to "love the Lord with all thine mind"
to connect with Him intellectually in a way that is sublime
we need to engage with Him on a level that requires us to discern
that it's not just our hearts but our minds towards God we need to turn
to lean not towards our own understanding
but to let the wisdom of God's word be what we are commanding

we live in a time where education and intellect is much prized
it's about how many higher level degrees that a person had realized
MBA, Ph.D those letters that are placed after one's name
is what society expects a person to have attained
for you can't compete in the market place of this global economy
if you don't have at least a four year bachelor's degree
minding your mind is what one needs to learn
to listen to the teachings of God and intellectually discern

and the way to accomplish that is to pray exponentially
by talking to the Lord God unceasingly
we also need to be patient and learn how to wait
for that is what hope requires for us to keep the faith
minding your mind by finding your godly purpose for being
for a productive person is what God desires to be seeing
so discover and acertain that gift that to you God did give
and utilize it in a way so that holy you now may live

minding your mind by allowing the spirit of God to come in
to raise you up higher and away from earthly sin
as it's all about the right relationship that with God you will find
to living for His purpose for you by learning to mind your mind
now able to function with a peaceful mind knowing God's in control
now able to sleep better at night as He watches over your soul
now operating with a positive mindset trusting in the Lord
filled with honesty, virtue and praise for Him in all accord
goodness, nobility and purity are the things you now embrace
minding your mind by thinking of God in the first place

it's all about the right relationship that with the Lord God you'll come to define
living prayerfully, patiently, purposefully and peacefully with a positive state of mind

Treasure

these are the words of a seeker of light
a believer in the knowledge of old
through our fathers we reach a new height
from their lives, and the stories they've told

we must never forget, or sunder the ties
that binds us all to our past
for that is where our virtue lies
honoring them, our Nations will last

the river is calling out to be free
and the sky, is where it's spirit will fly
now, i hear the gentle voice of the tree
gathering the winds, as they go by

the fish in the river frolic with the bait
as our men on the bank strive to catch some
they seldom see them, yet still they wait
landing a few, whose time has come

the dog is silent, and watching for now
the beaver is home dry, and resting
we could be as free, if we knew how
to ride lifes wave to its' cresting

there are birds on the water, and some overhead
they float, or soar, with the ease of belonging
each content to live where God has led
feeling no sense of lacking, or longing

deer come down to the shallows to drink
then return, to lay again in the shade
they have no reason for fear, they think
knowing somehow, our meals are all made

i look to my poeple, and see reflections of me
listen to the shouts, of the children at their game
i am at peace, and the spirits agree
this land and our TREASURE, are one and the same

we've cars now, and jobs for the taking
and fierce pride in anscestors long gone
ours is a "new" life, of our own making
and our Fathers are still with us, as we go on

living this life that we love
with peace, and harmony in the sharing
looking always to God above
for He is "Creator", alive, and still caring

as long as our Mother, this land, is still somewhere
and Wakan Tonka (?) lives in my heart
then where i am, He is there
nobility, honor, pow'r and love cannot part

all this concrete, these people, so different from me
that surrounds, and closes off my horizons
all the baubles, light, shadows, trinkets, and wares that i see
can't seperate me from the Wise Ones

they are only proof that i'm free

and i can still go home

The Gospel According To An Ass

as we celebrate that glorious event known as Palm Sunday
what do you think that donkey Jesus rode would have to say?
to ride on a donkey was once regarded as a symbol of peace
a state that we in this modern era just can't seem to reach
but I'm so glad that I serve a God of peace and harmony
and I'm so glad that He sent His Son Jesus to save me

Jesus came into town riding on an untamed ass
the people were so joyful they threw palm leaves across His path
but He was not the type king that they expected
and before the week was out by them He was rejected
I often wondered what was on the mind of that untamed beast
on the day that Jesus rode him into the midst of that feast
never before to have been ridden by any type of being
so what do you think that donkey was spiritually receiving?
the Gospel according to an ass
to know that the Prince of Peace has come at last

God has a plan for each of us and it's full of His mercy and grace
but in order to receive it you need to be in the right place
positioned for your purpose you just need to be
in that place where of you the Lord our God can see
for when God is ready to move in your life you need to be found
in the right place at the right time standing on higher ground

Jesus needed that beast at that appointed hour
and it was positioned by Father God's almighty power
its destiny to be ridden by Jesus the Christ the Son
a triumphant symbol of peace because its time had come

a donkey is usually perceived as difficult, stubborn and headstrong
but is an intelligent beast just don't lead it in a way that is wrong
they have a sense of perception and self-preservation
are very easy to train just don't put it in a precarious situation
it was sure-footed and purposely positioned in the right place
the Gospel according to an ass to be ridden with God's saving grace

it was a kyros moment it was a sight to be seen
on the back of an ass Jesus the Christ, the King of Kings
in the right place with the proper perspective positioned for its purpose at last
and that is the Gospel according to an ass

Making It Great In 2008 (Part 14)the Legacy Live On: This Do You

the computer is the automobile of post industrial times
that innovative technology that has completely consumed our minds
It's gotten to the point where no one can function without
it's the core of our everyday existence with nary a doubt
we're now in the midst of the Information Age
and the World Wide Web is now all the rage
efficient, productive in it's ability
with super sufficient memory capability

but computer memory capability is not a new fad
but it's remembering the love for us that Jesus the Christ had
He'd always put the needs of His fellow man first
would give up His last drop of water despite His own thirst
willing to sacrifice His life and die for His brothers
unselfish in the love He had for all others
and at His last supper He made a request
that would forever put our memories to the test
"drink this wine and eat this bread in memory of Me"
This Do You as my lasting legacy

to use our spiritual memory for the Lord Jesus the Christ
to partake of the Holy Communion as a part of our Christian life
This do You was the Lord Christ's command
This do You as a part of God's master plans

Paul wrote this letter so the memory of Jesus would be deployed
for the memory and love of Christ is what gives us eternal joy
joy is the thing that will lift you up when you're feeling down
joy in the positive thing that will turn depression around
joy is the love legacy that comes from the heavenly throne
joy is the energy that will keep one going strong
it comes from the Lord God and goes beyond mere human understanding
joy is that seed that the Lord God is always pruning and planting

This Do You in memory of Jesus the Christ
by making the Holy Communion a part of your everyday Christian life
This Do you in remembrance of Him
whose blood was shed to cleanse us of sin
This Do You to the year 2008
This Do You to make the year great
