I have opinionated friends.
Bonita will not wear a mask unless it is Halloween.
It violates her constitutional rights.
What about other people’s rights? I ask her.
She scoffs.
I have opinionated friends.
Shirley says all news that goes against her president is fake news.
Her president is her new god.
She has never been more fervent.
What if it is all a bit of real? I ask her.
She laughs.
I have opinionated friends.
Rita will not go outside because she is afraid of the Democrats.
Elise will not venture out because she is afraid of the Republicans.
What if they are just people too? I ask.
They both smirk and make fun of me
Behind my back.
I have opinionated friends.
Dorothy hates the liberals.
They are all the same.
They have the same mind set.
The same brain.
I like Dorothy, so I do not tell her I am a liberal.
I have opinionated friends.
Linda will not vote for a woman.
Ever.
For any office.
Women are dumb.
Says a lot about Linda.
I have opinionated friends.
I love them all.
Get along well with them too,
Keeping my opinions close to the vest.
So we can all get along and retain our friendship.
As usual, you smile at my downfall
I will endure this pain and get on the ball
I must mend my broken wings to fly
I will lend you a hand as you pass me by
You will see me rockin the misery boat
You will smile with glee as soon as I'm gone
You will see me aboard the misery boat
You will wave goodbye and good luck to move on
Love is a tennis match for a game of two...it's all fake news and the bothersome blues
I will survive this hardship before me with nothing to win and nothing left to lose
Believe that I can escape these waves of emotion with or without your guidance
Relieve the scars that refuse to heal and make me smell your faithful fragrance
Too long have I been crying these tears of shame
Too long have I longed to belong in this love game
It's been a while since you've even considered my utmost needs
I must get off the misery boat and cut down some worthless weeds
If only you'd listen to my plea
If only you'd come clean to me
Go on and tell the truth of me and you
Instead, you left me in pieces out of the blue
I thought better of you
The things I say are true
I sought your voice of benevolence
I rode the tides of tribulation without your guidance
Now, I must leave
Please do not grieve
You should have gave me an ear to hear me out
Of course, you let me down without a doubt
I guess I will be rockin the misery boat
With or without you...it's the things you do
I suppose I will be on my own on this trip with this note I wrote
It's about all the things you put me through

President Donald Trump
The voting was done,
and Donald Trump won.
So many are glad,
yet quite a few mad.
Voters have spoken...
fix what is broken,
and wipe the slate clean
though hard it may seem.
Democracy rules
to give us new tools
find creative ways
to better our days.
Oft old status quo
is no way to go.
Outsiders at times
can shape new designs
to better the plight,
and shed brighter light.
Think...Ronald Reagan...
values mistaken...
an outsider too,
despised by a few.
This Hollywood star
met President's bar
at last to become
a great number one.
Yet, Trump, right or wrong
is mocked by the throng;
no credit he wins
by those fake-news spins...
on what he's achieved,
they shape unperceived.
Okay, there are things
that agita brings,
and some just can stand
his tweets out of hand.
He is what he is...
perhaps too much fizz,
but gets the job done
and tells you he won.
Our nation at heart...
and zeal off the chart,
let's give him a break...
in backing, partake.
Unity's needed
peacefulness pleaded.
Let's give him a chance
with a cheerful stance.

Spoken And/Or Written Words
Time gone by e'er since being quiet natured boy,
more so nowadays declare exhausting countless
hours expending, extolling, and exuding prufuse
joy, no surprise, asper experiencing passion, sans
reading (select age appropriate material as a lad in
make believe world) still bespectacled bright eyed
and bushy tailed, (most absolutely definitely agog)
accentuating, expanding vis a vis jabbering (within
privacy afford double one bedroom apartment B44)
erudition enthusiastically verbalizing printed material
in general, and exercising vocal cords aloud, not cuz
I admire krispy, raspy whispery voice particular, but
hearing and seeing appealing genres (mine, though
morse hoe published authors especially informational)
purportedly not "FAKE" news incorporating sounding
out plus seeing words supposedly reinforces learning,
yet another less obvious pleasure (exclusive domain
availed primarily thru thesaurus brethren i.e. yepper
alphabetized lexicon, otherwise known as dictionary)
offers insight learning esoteric etymological minutiae
(just as quickly forgotten), which historical evolution
finds me temporarily linkedin both audiologically and
visually regarding forebears, (essentially transporters
thru numberless centuries) unwittingly, unknowingly,
unequivocally mumbling, modifying, massaging ever
evolving pronunciations sustaining communication as
living entity sustained throughout avast misty age pre
seeding impressing symbols (whether twenty six letters
of English language) upon tangible medium spurring
linguists to surmise aural and oral characteristics, and
no doubt searching complex edifice contemporary alive
tongues exhibited taking page from legacy of lingua
franca no longer extant.
With a wallet full of plastic ...
credit cards to shape my social classification
phone cards so I can stay informed
a debit card that always goes in debt
a card declaring my citizenship and identification
a card insuring me good health, long life and liberty
gift cards that help curb my defamation
The more I owe, the more I glow dimly
All caught up in attaining the American Dream
Yet pale and lustered from self-affirmation
That it’s okay to be lost and confused
That it's okay to be me, not alone in
Paying homage to a false god that sucks
Souls and drains my pocketbook into the red
With lots and lots of stuff
I can’t take with me when I’m dead
There was, once upon a time
When “In God We Trust” was the norm
Card sharking, once illegal, considered a scam
Something only criminal minds or the mob would dare
Is now commonplace and no one seems to care
That it’s all consuming, eating us alive
Of all what is left of any dignity
At an alarming high percentage rate
With fake news and empty promissory notes
And the only cost is to conform
To having counterfeit consciousness
As conscientious as confetti
I’m flabbergasted and plasticized.
The people have spoken
They flexed their muscle
As change was demanded
Rattling the diplomatic cage
Forever shattering the mold
Politics will never be the same
Neither will fake news -
Fighting a wave of negativity
Bitter tongues wagging
Taking the easy way out
Sitting scornful on the sidelines
Criticizing screaming and whining
Not lifting a finger in an attempt
To make this world a better place
Just meddling and brewing strife
Tinting all with anger and bickering
Instead of trying to unite and
Leave all differences behind
Be positive and constructive
Stand in harmony in support of those
Trying to make America strong again
If you're not part of the solution
You're part of the problem
Stand up and show your patriotic colors
While there is still hope

I don't understand.
the need to cover wrinkles up-
they are the story of your life!
I dent understand.
the need to improve on nature-
what`s wrong with accepting, you being you?
I don't understand.
the need to change your appearance-
thinking this will change your life.
I don't understand.
being too afraid to say what's on your mind
because another might see it as stepping over the line.
I don't understand.
when they state the number of friends they have-
but they haven`t meet many of them.
I don't understand.
why the opinion of someone you don't know-
is so important.
I don't understand.
what the screen says-
is more important than now!
I don't understand.
your fact is more truthful-
then the real fact.
I don't understand.
when the truth contradicts your fact-
you call it fake news.
I don't understand.
when confronted with the truth
and it contradicts your facts-
you just ignore it, hoping it will
all go away.
Yes I live in the past
15 June 2019 9:54 AM
I do not like the present so I live in the past
A culture that had its troubles but did its best to over come until the last
A time when people knew a child from an adult and a man from a woman
And when animals were not worth more than humans
When right was right and wrong was wrong
When real truth and feelings could be felt in songs
When people went to visit in person and not on the phone
When mom and dad were taken in and not rejected for monies throne
When God was known and sought after
And folks would empty of tears and then be filled with laughter
You can keep your modern fake news
And stuff your leftist politics into the bottom of your shoes
Then pretend that you are tall and that you know it all
But you will really know the truth when the whole world hears Christ's call
So fault me if you want to for living in the past
But modern times for me smell worse than sewer gass.
Rip down the statues
Rename the streets
Police the language
Label it hate speech
Burn down the cities
In peaceful protest
Justice is racist
Thus, civil unrest
No longer about
Seats on the bus
A bus itself
Is labeled unjust
Envy a sin
Yet the very basis
Of a pernicious movement
Mislabeled social justice
True justice is blind
Social justice sees
Skin tone blamed
For all disparity
Media propogandist
Mix up the facts
Left is right
Right is wrong
Gaslighting Americans
With their fake news
Giving demonic takes
Editing out truth
Hate your enemy
Get up in their face
Resist reality
Let ideology replace
Tragedy in the schools
Fools blame it on tools
Deceived bunch of souls
Who forget man reaps what he sows
How it all ends
Is known in advance
Simply have faith
Knowing it doesn’t happen by chance
