Cherubs Playing

Cherubs playing in a sweet fragrant garden
Are going from row to row smelling the roses
And every now an then sneezing as the fragrant
Smell over powers their noses.
They say they speak in little child's jargon.
Now they are over by the water fountain that
Houses the stone dragon.
They're laughing as they feel the grass tickling
Their toes.
Cherubs Playing in a sweet fragrant garden
Are going from row to row smelling the roses.
Do you think they will smell the snapdragon?
They must of heard a noise they froze.
I don't want to expose
This phenomenon
Cherubs Playing in a sweet fragrant garden
Are going from row to row smelling the roses.

A steam of sub-consciousness takes him to kissing a bouquet of rivers

Blessed by fortune and mindfulness Tim follows his passion for nature

Star struck the Horizon unfolds over a canopy of breathless adventure

Uncovers sunshine and rays as rain bows to shivering heaven below

As thunder and lightning explode and expose a meandering delta he

Needs no reminder that grapes lie undraped and sweet juice calls awaiting

In his mind he strokes moist wilderness amazed at the flooding of wetlands

Hovers over a small swelling hill set to the tunes of season’s exuberant joy

Charmed by a flute presiding over the peninsula just nether of Cape Town

The cloth settles in glorious fog like a blanket caressing valleys and peak

Exploring a new continent of dreams has never before been so exquisite

No direction nor map and no compass no South Wester where oceans meet

Tim needs no coat for protection no umbrella not a hat for his longing

Although Leonhard Cohen’s Famous Blue Raincoat springs to his mind

Dylan’s Hard Rain peals away for the moment sheltered by passion

Here as they lie in a beach hut of dreams spread under flakes of Karma

Chakras in full colour channels open and unbound energy and desire

Kim guides his wandering fingers and the hands of the time piece is still

When they reach that sweet oyster bequeathed by the triangle of shivers

And Chronos meets Kairos at the slope of cliff face flora and pleasure

They know not only pirates steam and stream from lighthouse to harbour

Winter

Fridged temperatures bite at exposed skin,
Icy cold winds pull and tug on coats, looking for a way in.

Naked trees expose their frozen bark,
It has arrived and leaves a snowy mark.

Silence deafens the ear as nothing stirs to make a sound,
Bark clad skeletons stand all around.

Seas of white are often found,
Where blades of grass and flowers once covered the ground.

Heavy snowfall filters sunlight to cast a temporary hue,
As ice crystals divert wavelengths creating a landscape with a hint of blue.

As the snow falls, it builds on the ground,
Wrapping the terrain in a blanket of ice all around.

Snowfall clings to branches with an icy grip,
Holding steadfast where leaves have been stripped.

Frozen moisture rides the wind and dances in the air,
Creatures sense it coming and are keenly aware.

Animals are hiding to escape its wrath,
A semi-lifeless landscape is the aftermath.

Formidable and nearly uninhabitable as it may be,
Reptiles and amphibians hide underground, waiting to be set free.

Birds go into hiding or shelter in place,
Not able to fly with style and grace.

They fluff their feathers to keep warm,
A puffed-up pose is their sheltering form.

Mammals burrow underground or nest in trees,
They seldom venture into this environment to risk hypothermia or freeze.

At the solstice it is at its peak,
Days of warmth seem most distant and bleak.

From this point forward, it starts to decay,
Though still distant, Spring is on its way.

Days grow longer and nighttime starts to diminish,
Circadian rhythms change, waiting for it to finish.

What once was frozen begins to thaw,
And from their icy tombs, creatures begin to withdraw.

More sunshine and rising temperatures are the kicker,
When animals emerge from surviving another Winter.

Transcendence

Into the dawn, one yearns to be normal,
A delicate breath of precious life gifts,
Self-assesses to be supernormal,

Advantageous climbing in phasing drifts,
Wonderment spontaneously fulfilled,
At every courtesy occasions shifts,

Illumination caused by the strong-willed,
The paranormal chameleon-like,
Acclimating fluctuations instilled,

Daring-do drives the zest of life to spike,
Charming lust of will justifies presence,
A spirited vigor gauge expose hike,

Purposed free will by our omnipresence,
The exalted one whom I like to share,
Engage a divine measure claimed pleasance,

Parts from creed as an unshackled Voltaire,
Summon the resolved that remain at ease,
Ancestral parlay, wing, and a prayer,

Whispers Roundtable a board of trustees,
Ancient, current, the will, channeling trance,
Fraughts, impediments, subside and appease,

Loves and losses, the eternal perchance,
Defended visions promise days advance.

A poet exposes scenes to explore new horizons
unfolding under expansive or confining domes
We slow it down, decelerate, discern
unveiling are a fable's morals and concerns
taking pause to commune with fauna and elm
serenely does nature speak throughout her realm
our phrases linger with new colors
hues vibrant encompass as skylines
      our dimensions broaden anew
sentences chosen carefully carry more import
      with words nuanced, renewed
      with a more sentient bite
      with emotions more candid
abashedly bare, a despair founded
with paroxysm of catharsis we quill
weeping of our dormant essence shaken to life
confessions deepening, plunging in thought
letting the afflatus of passion flow

Strangers Date

Strangers Date

Lets meet as if strangers at the bus stop, she winked as she spoke
You sit on the bench like any other ordinary bloke

I will arrive with a red rose
You with a white carnation you expose

Like total strangers meeting for the first time
Late if you wish, but I'll be on time

You look with breathless anticipation, and I return a sweet soft cheek kiss
You close your eyes feeling all the inner bliss

Then your eyes flit across the street to the bar
You say, Come on it's not at all far

You wink, Maybe a cocktale or two
Dinner later at someplace new?

We can share a bottle of wine
While we wait for this meal so fine

When it's all done and time to go
Hand in hand our romance will grow

When at last we are home
And no need to roam

I'll thank God for this wedding band
And the one on your hand

Love Me Mercilessly - Revised

Ring, hot, like a brand against my skin.
Agonizing, as it permanently leaves its mark.
I covet you. I crave you. I need you.
I want your love to burn me to the core.
Suffocate me. Breathe you in, fill my lungs, gasping, drowning, euphoric.
Bring me to the brink of death, with the tips of your fingers.
Your gaze pierces me like a knife.
My tortured heart beats as if its only mission is to escape its cell.
Cut down deep. Expose this frail beating heart.
Lips like cyanide; seeped through my veins, left lifeless, encompassed, lost in your kiss.
I gave you my life, and you loved me mercilessly.
Take me, destroy me, envelope me, we soon become one.
I am you. You are me. We are.
Your eulogy promises to be mine:
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to honor a man.
A man who sacrificed himself in two little words, and a promise to become one with me.”
In sacrificial death, you took my life with your own two hands. Till death do us part.
Bury me, leave me where I cannot be found. I’ll never leave you.
Let my epitaph read “Here lies the man who lost himself, when he found you.”

Premium Member Death's Footfall

Old age tends to feel like a waiting game
when the footfalls of Death start encroaching.
And your passion for life dims down its flame,
watching life's end stealthily approaching.

You start looking back rather than ahead:
memories replace dreams of tomorrow.
And the years, like an unraveling thread,
expose feelings of love, faith, and sorrow.

Oddly enough, you don't feel old inside,
though time keeps steadfastly ticking away.
And setting your qualms about Death aside;
faith disregard what nonbelievers say.

Old age feels comforting; a well-worn shawl
that deadens the sound of Death's footfall.

Hope is so alive, like a whisper inside
Touching the spirit with music and feeling
Erasing fears with promises that abide

Faith is the answer for a hard heart’s healing
Breathing beauty into the soul’s expose’
Leaving only light to guide one to kneeling

Love is dipped in hues of violet shadows
Caressing hearts with marvelous devotion
Enlightening a path through beautiful prose

Peace is the silence breathing in slow motion
Murmuring desires that echo through verses
Penetrating rhymes and rhythms with emotion

Joy reaches out with belief it disburses
Shattering pain with insight it coerces

You Can Run Through the Fire

You can run through the fire
A showman in flames
With soles of steel
Over rakes
Of hot coals,
Your audience gaping
In love
Of forward force.

You can glide through the wave
An acrobatic swell
With agile tongue
And glittering hands
Your audience wowed
In awe
Of slick style.

You can scale through the peaks
A glorious climb
With grappling pride
And summit flags
Your audience wooed
In awe
Of conquered land.

You can do all these things.

The hands that laid the coals
The hands that shaped the board
And
The hands that laid the path—

They Hold You.

They Expose You-
In quiet strength.

For without
These

Humble hands-

You would achieve
Nothing.
