Life

So often can dark times be misused
Ever so often we find ourselves intertwine between
Yet we find ways to not be accused
From a world so vast we can only live within

Sadly, its only with age we can understand
Age to build experience to somehow finally… see
Those of things when young could not comprehend
To digest for one’s mind for humanity to be

It isn’t just how we can know sooner
Simply life is life simply
To look for the worst and hope for the better
Simply if not judgmentally

How I have travelled so far
To come to this day for today
To be baffled by things bizarre
An age less am I not a yesterday?

If life is good will you pursuit
If life being bad do you discontinue?
Times with both did we not overrule?
Is there even life for once we knew?

Promise Me

You collapse to the ground
I hurry to catch you
Whispering words of destitution, tiredness, and fatigue
You tell me you’re tired
Weary to live like this
With this illness
How it shuts every door
Pains to the core
Slowly, spitefully, you start to lose yourself
I fear that in my every soul
Tears of ache run down my sight
I yell at you, beg you at you to stop
Demand you to discontinue
Thrive for that promise of yours
Tell me it’ll all be okay
Tell me you’ll get better
Awe me with your dreams
Inspire me with every act of good of yours
Every city you wish to route every street of its
Every sunset you wish to set eyes on
Every night sky, full of bright blazing miracles
But you don’t
You tell me you can’t
And I ask of you to do that
But although that
Although every worry that ties me
Every doubt, every tear, every darkest misery
You surrender and leave
Leave me there
All anxious and terrified
Of what comes next
What is due to occur
And it frightens me
Keeps staring at the empty space
With thoughts and thoughts
Conquering
Torturing
Consuming
We began with nothing
And what’s left is nothing
But all that we began with

Are These Sins Holding Me back?

I am wondering why in those gloomy moments
lived away from everybody who said prayers
I haven't reached any sublime joy...
or even the ecstatic feeling of purity
that many saints got looking at the magnificent heaven;
are these sins holding me back and pushing me down,
so I can't rise up and give my praises God?
Is the bright angel of light offering me gold?

Greed is gratification of the bizarre mind,
a persuasive voice demanding loyalty;
should one default: all crashes down rapidly
along with the intent to do harm, not good.

Discontinue your relationship with Satan, or the secretive
Illuminati: consider your wealth no longer a lasting treasure,
that possession reflected on that look of disgraceful vanity;
whoever has been a victim can return to the God of eternity,
and He will forget your inequity when showing repentance
and a desire to stay free of inequities and reject vengeance.

Are these sins holding me back, why haven't I known prosperity?
I struggled and filled my basket with stones, not with delicious fruits;
I didn't deserve a bountiful harvest: I refused to kneel down and pray:
Sin is separation from holiness, a choice that defiles conscience;
despair all you want, beat your chest and wail: God will not answer;
a meek being is favored over a wealthy one, it's a grand promise
never to be broken by the Almighty who holds the hand of the believer.

Premium Member Abandon

Our normal joys of life- now, ostracize;
shared, loving hugs, we're told to disavow.
Fond gatherings of friends and family
in cozy, close-knit groups- we abdicate.

No theaters open to view films or plays;
these gratifying pastimes- forsake now.
Just meeting with a friend for lunch to chat-
a thought we discontinue- disregard.

When leaving home for our essential needs,
near others, we surrender standing close;
discard the need to inhale full, fresh air-
while covered nose and mouth recycle breath.

So much we took for granted- now reject:
ditch strolling at the malls or galleries-
relinquish ceremonies of all types-
disclaim all sports events, rehabs, and gyms.

Our normal lives, we can't renounce too long-
or else we will forswear all hope itself.
We pray these missing blessings we regain-
no longer need to terminate our joys.

My Deepest Thoughts

My deepest thoughts
Little things I think about
Thoughts that just go in and out
Be there for you
Come read about my deepest thoughts
Hear about the raging battles I've fought
Bring reality closer to life
Place two lips
On the forehead of your wife
On my couch watching VH1's driven
Realize we can't live this life without God
So we ask forgiveness
Tears fall free
Once you open up your eyes to see
Wrong or right these are my deepest thoughts
Now we do a lot of cursing in a broken home
Hearing nothing but fussing
Stuck in darkness
Searching for that same vibe that kept you alive
Hear them plead to suffer and survive
I share with you my deepest thoughts
Addicted to trial and error
Predicted the Nile to flood an area
The art of war
Put your hand over your chest
Cause your hearts at war
Close my eyes
And wish upon a shooting star
Look ahead
But I'll never get to see a peaceful night
Or a softer bed
Together we break bread
Cause we all bleed red
When you lay down at night
I want you to read about my deepest thoughts
Insuffient funds
Allow you to discontinue the joy of almonds
Dressed in rags, so I look disgusting
Envy my heart, cause you think it's mistrusting
How long will I live?
And when it's all gone
what more do I give?
I share with you my deepest thoughts
And when it's all done
And you close the last chapter
I guess you can help
But to submit to capture
Get lost cause time will break you
But the hard times will make you
It can try, but misery
Will never replace a good memory
If you can make time, take time
And read about my deepest thoughts
Through the roughest nights
We struggle to win our toughest fights.
And I'll probably never understand the world
Or the lords plan.
Put here to live on Gods land
Suffer no more cause we got satisfaction of heart
And we'll never fall apart
I'd say goodbye
But these are only my deepest thoughts

Heart-To-Heart With My Heart-Throb

Darling, will you love me still if I weren't a poet?
Will you hold my hand if I hypothetically happened
to pause my pen from poesy?
If I didn't use alluring alliterations to express my emotions?
If my soul stayed silent with no more stimulating similes?
Will you respect me if I refrain from rhyming ruminations?

Will you really care for me if I didn't use
imaginary imagism in our intimate interactions?
Will you share my worries if I were to withhold myself from writing?
Will you miss me manufacturing meticulous metaphors?
Will you caress and comfort me
if I cease to construct colourful canticles?

My handsome hero, will you accept me if I were a normal girl,
And not your special sweetheart with spectacular songs?
Will you tolerate my tantrums if my tongue terminated those tugging tunes?
Will you hold and hug me if I were to halt my hand
               from creating clever, catchy compositions?
Will you value me verily if my verses vanish and vaporise?

If my muse turned morose and mum, will you still stay by my side?
If my moods metamorphosed into melancholic mysteries,
will you be mad at me or motivate me?
Will you still find me mesmerizing if making melodies escape my memory?
If I discontinued my ditties, will you discard me or defend me?
Will you be fond of me if I freeze my fingers from fashioning your fanciful fantasies?

Dearly beloved, will you still lavish me with love forever
if I were not a person to present my poetic preparations?
If I were to discontinue my direct declarations, will you still delight in me?
Oh! Will you appreciate me anyway if I abandoned my artistic abilities?
Tell me, my dear and I will stop my stuttering soul and muttering mind...
Will you prohibit my passion for poems...
or accept me as I am?

Laying up Treasures
Written: by Tom Wright
January 2015

When I was but a young married man,
On occasion I’ve heard my mother say.
Son, you’ll never accumulate very much,
Until you discontinue giving so much away.

But inside me was dwelling a need or feeling,
That neither one could fully understand.
Why I’d take those things I labored for,
And place them in some other’s hand.

Now late in life I’ve remained the same,
I’m surveying some things I could share.
Finding each thing leaving me for another,
Makes Jesus smile for He is fully aware.*

Premium Member Is Anger ever Righteous ???

Who is the arbiter, who will decide if " righteous" anger is ever justified
Perhaps the perpetrator of inappropriate anger will claim his excuse is true
whilst the victim of a vicious attack will maintain a different point of view

In some peoples minds there does exist as revealed on a certain media page
A goddess of righteous anger
How many disputes, be they large or small, are resolved with outbursts of undesired rage

Righteous anger, it exists in the lives of many people, be it political or religious form
No love or harmony between differing views
Anger begets anger, this entrenched behaviour, it becomes the norm

No forgiveness does exist between any warring party
examples throughout history, that's the way it's often been
Bombing in Belfast where the Orange fought the Green
Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, the Gaza strip. Japan
Russia, Ukraine and there's also Iran

So now I must conclude, it's patently clear, such a clanger
that the source of every battle or an argument is raged under the righteous anger banner

Let's discontinue unproductive lives filled with so much rage
The excuse of righteous anger fits the category of lame
let's discontinue human history, shrouded in so much inhumane shame

Let's follow the urgent words of God
our heavenly loving Father who
espouses the word of love
Fill our lives with bliss, harmony forgiveness
accept the divine message circulating from above

Premium Member Prayer For My Offender

Let my offender have full remorse
as he watches
his own daughter grow.
Let her never know
what he did to me.

Let sorrow
pierce his heart like an arrow.
Let the Lord soothe the wound
and chasten him with the scar.

Let repentance pour out.
Let forgiveness overflow.

Let his heart be humble
to learn the fullness of
a father's love.
Lord, lift his sin burden
like a raven in flight,
then let a dove descend.

Let him protect his daughter
from the man he once was.
Let him not live in fear
of her violation
by his or another's hands.
Let her purity be preserved.

Let his wickedness
be ravished
by mercy and truth.*
Let his heart not regard
the sins of his youth.*

Let him receive forgiveness plenty,
just as God, for Christ's sake
has forgiven me,*
and I reap the blessings.
Let him be blessed, too.*

Let innocence be restored,
and let us esteem
the name of the Lord.

Let my offender praise purity
and be a passionate advocate
for the vulnerable and abused.

Let his wife be blessed
by his new life.
If he chooses to confess,
let her forgive
and have a heart of
compassion and trust,
discarding anger and disgust.

Let repentance pour out.
Let forgiveness overflow.

Let the cycle of sin discontinue.

Let their intimacy be
exceedingly better than
what he sought wrongfully.

Let him wonder
how the offended was affected.
Let him pray that she will fully forgive,
not harboring any hint of bitterness.

Give him peace, knowing
that by God's grace,
their wounds will heal.*

*Proverbs 6:6

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:
and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

*Psalm 25:7

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

*Ephesians 4:32

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

*Luke 6:28

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

*Psalm 147:3

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
