A Cliched Theme In Rhyme

They told you and promised your breath will expire
Your soul will go missing like the crackling fire.
They told you -- they advised -- to accept it and live
Use up the time that your creator did give.

And you know all this time that your song will be cut
That the orchestra plays on but the players do not
You know all of this will turn to dust and to ash
And your face'll be preserved by a camera and a flash.

You get taller and dumber, living for Tomorrow
Waiting for your stomach to stop feeling so hollow.
You forget for a while that there's a grave in the future,
Waiting for you to be buried in as closure.

People die all around you and you think, "Oh.
That won't happen to me for a long time, no.
I am immortal, with an age in mind
It's a ripe old age that you can't just unwind."

And I understand since your hands aren't pale
That you haven't even worn the wedding dress and veil.
That it's silly to think of your funeral and legacy
When all you can think about are the formal dresses and dead chivalry.

Living forever is not for eternity.
It's the thought that you'll live up to ninety.
It's the rush in your blood when you're young and unafraid
It's the thrum of your legs when you stomp like a parade

It's the drumming in your chest when the best band starts
It's the springing in your veins that touches both your hearts
It's the lightheaded feeling between summer songs and love affairs
It's the bulletproof comebacks that get you all the ogling stares

And sometime around happiness and that family reunion
You forget about what they gave you as Life's one instruction:
That the future isn't forever, and today might be all you get
Even though you never had any of your own kids yet.

So even though it's unlikely -- and I hope to God that that is true
Know that you will die too.
You'll have a final bow.
So take a moment and inhale the beauty that is now.

Because we all think we're young -- just admit it: it's true.
No amount of birthdays will take that away from you
We are young, the world's out there to kiss our lips
Just on the brink of touching our fingertips.

Live, give, love, and conquer.
You're here just once for an unknown number.
Don't be afraid to die, and don't stress about what's after.
Leave with a suitcase and send me a postcard once you meet our Maker.

Premium Member Mother

There is one lass, and one alone, compels the sun - no other,
And as it just so happens, that bonny maid's my mother!

Now, don't you dare make mention of her fast-expanding corset,
For just one taste, her hummus paste - I'm sure that you'd endorse it.

You've never seen such rosy cheeks, (the same, her nose and ears) ...
It matters not her flushing skin means one too many beers ...

And, oh, that golden voice of hers, like a choir of angels singing!
So bright and clear, to pound your ear, (you'll get used to all the
                    ringing).

And my-oh-my, her generous heart! Almost always gifting food ...
(I'm forced to eat the stuff myself, so she won't get in "that" mood).

She has the softest skin I know, the coldest wind won't phase her,
With the cutest little mustache, (though it's time she bought a razor).

And oh-my-gosh, her hugs - divine! The warm technique she uses ...
She'll squeeze you like a pipe wrench, (don't mind the breaks and
                    bruises).

Don't even THINK to call her "fat", or feel my wrath, thereof ...
As Dad said, ('fore he disappeared), "There's SO much there to love!"

Ah - that whole thing with father, well, she says he ran away ...
Tho' he left his ring and dentures, (did she close the well that day?).

Indeed, she has a winning smile - such charm, it does bequeath!
I know her glow will warm you so, (despite those missing teeth).

What's best, her witty comebacks, you'll be laughing hard, I guess,
(I suggest you DO, or option two, is the club beneath her dress).

Oh, the love and joys with mother, now where on earth do I begin?
I'd be happy to keep yapping ... (for another fifth of gin).

Premium Member The Sleeping Mind

It always happens right in the middle of a workout LOL but as long as God is talking I am going to keep on putting it out there

THE SLEEPING MIND

God gave me an early gift for Christmas
And that was three months ago
There are many layers to this beautiful box
And each one I get to open, I get to learn and grow

I know I have a lot more work to do
and it will take a lot more time
To heal my body and come back to life
As I wake up the Sleeping Beauty in my mind

I see how the chemicals I was given altered and changed
The true coarse of my body, mind and life path
They say that comebacks are a
And God is coming with me and those accountable will feel his wrath

I harbor no more anger, fear or regret
I just want to get my life and dreams back again
God, has a plan and when is Angles reunite
It will be then I'll fill my home with my true family and friends

Motivation

Dont let others bring you down and hurt you!like i have let them all my life. because if you let them do that for so long, it kills all the good in you! Your soul will turn to stone, a cold careless hateful Soul! it will abliviate you if you let them do this. they will punch you in your face with mean remarks, kick you in your gut with heart wrinching, heart poulverizing comments and comebacks! BUT they are all needed though. you need to be brought down time to time ONLY TO MAKE YOU STRONGER! but if you let them bring you down too much it WILL distroy you and it will make you week again!!! WHEN YOU ARE STRONGER, ITS TIME TO TAKE YOUR STAND AGAINST EVERY RUDE COMMENT EVERY HEART PUMBLING THING SAID TO YOU AND I DONT MEAN PHISICLY STRONG BUT MEANTALY STRONG, EMOTIONALY STRONG!!!! BE WHO YOU ARE WHEN YOU WANT TO DONT CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT YOU BECAUSE TRUE FRIENDS WONT CARE THEY ALWAYS STAY BY YOU NO MATTER WHAT!!!!1 AND DONT LET ANYTHING BRING YOU DOWN!!!!!! NOW THEN STOP TRYING TO BE OTHERS WHEN YOU SHOULD BE YOURSELF IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO MAKE FUN OF YOU BUT YOU HAVE TO BE BIGGER THAN THEM NOW GO OUT THERE AND SHOW THEM THAT YOU DONT CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY SAY NO MORE!!!!

Put Some Church To It

Born in greed, torture and hate
I built bridges long enough to overturn my fate

Dire expectations…
I made sure I paid no heed to silly temptations

Interlude to the start of a new journey
I designed options
Set my goals into massive proportions
Selective memory…
I devised a form of poetry without being bound by precautions

We live to die
And yet we work to live in the hope for a better future

What if we are not part of that future?

An exception to such mentality
I paved a way to success without death as a formality

Christ the redeemer…
Unrelated to the content, but a simplification to your enigma

You should know this by now…

Only conquerors are true believers
Crying foul yet you mingle with unbelievers
HE never lives
Setbacks pioneer greater comebacks to the one who believes

I am not a preacher
However in the gospel termed “richer”

Out of reach, out of sight
Set forth my hand to write, to be and become
In this offering God will delight

7 Minute Reply, Battle Rap With Brenda Chiri

Battle Rap With Brenda Chiri

Brenda Chiri don't try me

It's not old and told,
same gun, bullets roll,
pull it hole
strolling rhymes,
quick time,
literally laying these words at pace
while you take out a pen and paper
jotting down like a waiter,
rhymes to cater
couldn't be straighter,
down the line
the same constant whine
from the kind drinking wine,
out the bottle not the glass,
you aint got the throttle or the class
to spas alongside my asss,
I'll set you a task
watch you finish last,
dragging your handbag to bits,
alongside your sandbag tets,
I can do the splits and backflips,
you have splits in your hips,
see me now, I plough like magic,
your comebacks are plastic
made with fake fabric,
with laxative patches
you're like Bush giving a speech,
five letter words beyond your vocal reach,
needing a teacher like a freak,
I fight on the beaches,
I'll fight you and all your beaches,
egging you on,
like Brenda you strong
but your words make me mong,
so until next time for now I say to you so long.

My Right Hand Man

I expect to get mistreated if I try,
But I already know it will only be for a short time,
All this time with me you waged war,
Neverending...back and forth,
If I didn't agree with you, or play along,
Your hurtful words, and comebacks strong,
In a drunken stupor the truth comes out,
All of your fears, all of your doubts,
If you don't want the truth, please don't ask,
Because sober you hide behind the mask,
I shake my head in silence when I hear your lies,
It breaks my heart everytime,
Because you live and breathe for a glorified image,
What's it going to take for you to stop this,
I'm your muse and the butt of your jokes,
But one day you'll look back and realize I loved you the most,
And I'll take your ridicule like a champ,
And at the end of your act I'll still be your friend,
Your not winning when you make me cry,
Because I'm still living for the love inside,
I don't need an image to stand,
The love I have is my right hand man.

Lights, Camera, Bloopers

“Come on, you got nothing on me!”
“You’re right, nothing on you is mine.”
Comebacks are things I’m certainly not good at.
I’m the one who gets roasted like a chunk o’ meat.

“Oh, uh, well… I don’t know…”
“Of course you don’t. You never do.”
I always stutter. No matter how hard I try.
Words aren’t my thing.

“First things first, I’m a say all the words inside my head.
“I’m fired up and tired of the way that things have been.”
I love to sing and play instruments.
Music is my thing.

“What do you think of my drawing?”
“It’s ok, I guess.”
I always draw random things I see.
Scenery, people, items, flowers, anything.

No one has the same quirks as another.
Everyone is one of a kind.
My quirks make my bloopers
which make every production come together.

Cancer

Your indomitable spirit will always be with me.
For as you continue to fight for life,
I will continue to fight with thee,
day in or night.
For at times,
You felt like a big fat zero
With everything to lose,
but you kept up the fight
and became a person
I call my hero.
Even for the times
You didn't want to be criticized,
judged and analyzed.
You kept your head up
without losing apart of you,
not even for truths of compromise.
So you're a victim with the courage to live.
Always facing setbacks,
facts and comebacks
God will always continue to give.
So this poem is in honor of you,
continue to keep on the fight.
Because God will always have a cure
and the answer.
For you are his special child
Who has been diagnosed with
"cancer"
