My Right Hand Man
I expect to get mistreated if I try,
But I already know it will only be for a short time,
All this time with me you waged war,
Neverending...back and forth,
If I didn't agree with you, or play along,
Your hurtful words, and comebacks strong,
In a drunken stupor the truth comes out,
All of your fears, all of your doubts,
If you don't want the truth, please don't ask,
Because sober you hide behind the mask,
I shake my head in silence when I hear your lies,
It breaks my heart everytime,
Because you live and breathe for a glorified image,
What's it going to take for you to stop this,
I'm your muse and the butt of your jokes,
But one day you'll look back and realize I loved you the most,
And I'll take your ridicule like a champ,
And at the end of your act I'll still be your friend,
Your not winning when you make me cry,
Because I'm still living for the love inside,
I don't need an image to stand,
The love I have is my right hand man.
