She looks into her looking glass
'Tries to see it in her eyes
And from a faded photograph
Convince herself it's still alive
No matter how it feels
It all feels so contrived
'Cause she can't find it in her heart
She can't find it in her heart
So she tries a little hideaway
In a dark corner of the town
And hopes somebody walks her way
After that they might sit down
Once again she'll settle
For any kind of love she's found
'Cause she can't find it in her heart
She can't find it in her heart
She said that she should learn to be without him
In time In time
But for tonight it's just too big a mountain
To climb To climb
So she lets go of herself
As the drink sparkles in her hand
She recreates the way she felt
And acts it out the best she can
She doesn't understand
Love doesn't stand a chance
'Til she can find it in her heart
'Til she can find it in her heart
She said that she should learn to be without him
In time In time.........
But for tonight it's just too big a mountain
To climb To climb..........
So she looks into her looking glass.......

Something's different...things are changing...
Right before my eyes
You seem distant...I just can't stand it...
To think your love has died
I see the writing on the wall
You're gonna grab your heart and go
So if you're gonna...take it from me...
Take it from me....slow......
Let me down easy
I fell for you hard
It's a long way...believe me
To the bottom of my heart
Just walk away...A step a day
Give me time..... to fall apart
Let me down easy
I fell for you hard
You always said...we'd be together
Forever and always
Now you're taking my tomorrow
'Tossing it to yesterday
No..... I want try to keep you
If you don't wanna stay
All I ask is just one favor.....
Before you walk away....
Let me down easy
I fell for you hard
It's a long way...believe me
To the bottom of my heart
Just walk away...A step a day
Give me time.....to fall apart
Let me down easy
I fell for you hard

Put on my senior ring
I'll wear my high school sweater
We'll find a lover's lane
Where romance never ends
'Turn on the radio
Get closer to each other
And some where in the night
When the time is right
Let's fall in love again
And when I take you home
We'll sit out in the drive way
With the porch light on
The way it was back then
I'll walk you to the door
I'll say I need you always
And some where in the night
When the time is right
Let's fall in love again
Let's go back......
'Til we find that first time feeling
In our hearts
Let's fall so hard again
Music solo
Let's take the time to dream
....Make memories together
And pray that what we have
Don't slip right through our hands
But if it falls apart
We'll put it back together
'Cause somewhere in the night
When the time is right
We'll fall in live again
Always in our lives
When the time is right
We'll fall in love again

I laugh and I cry
And I'm doing it all at the same time
I walk and I crawl
When not bouncing around like a rubber ball
It builds you up to tear your apart
Ain't love a kick in the heart
Feels good.....It hurts
But it tingles so, you know it works
It's sour...it's sweet
A chilling breeze in the summer heat
It's seeing the light from a shot in the dark
Ain't love a kick in the heart
L.............O.............V.............E
Is such a little word
But it can teach a hurricane
More about the twists and turns
It's black.....It's white
Pinstriped...Checkerboard and Tie Dyed
It's far....It's near
A screaming whisper in your ear
It's a wishing well full of falling stars
Ain't love a kick in the heart
It's crude.....with class
Dom Perignon in a redneck's glass
It's fast.....It's slow
Gaining ground when you lose control
It's a Rembrandt made from crayon marks
Ain't love a kick in the heart

It's one thing to make a promise
When there's more than enough
'Another thing to keep it
As the going gets tough
When it comes to hard times
We've had more than our share
These days, when it seems
Every couple we know
Are breaking hearts...
Just letting love go
They can't seem to find
A reason to ....care
She does....
She stands by my side
Giving all that she has
Her arms open wide
She does....
What it takes to go on
In a world where commitment
Doesn't last very long...
We're still together....
Stronger than ever...
And it's all because.......
She didn't just say
I do...that day...
She does
When my confidence is shaking
'Like an old man's hand
When the rock she leans on..
Feels more like the sand
When I need to be inspired...
And I think nobody can...
She does.....
She stands...by my side.....

'Saw you fighting back the teardrops
All by yourself........
You didn't have to say a word...
I knew just how you felt
So, you haven't been here either
Just happened in...like me
Well, if you're feeling blue and lonely
You've got company....
We can dance....or just sit here and talk...
We can laugh or cry..I'll let it be your call
This new found freedom..lets us rise above it all..
'Cause we both know....How to fall
Yeah, I'll have another...Girl what would you like
Something to warm your heart...Sure is cold tonight
I'll ask the DJ, to play some songs that ain't so sad
You're beginning to make me feel...like heartache's not so bad...
We can dance....or just sit here and talk
We can laugh or cry...I'll let it be your call
This new found freedom...Lets us rise above it all..
'Cause we both know....How to fall

Flowers with colours enchant me,
Buds budding and blooming,
Beauty surrounds, fills me with glee,
Nature’s way of grooming;
Critters with colours charm me too,
Paws dancing; tails wagging.
Talented tricks they learn to do,
Hear pet owners bragging.
Multicolored folk glow with light,
Kids gleam with hearts of gold.
Red and yellow, brown, black and white
God made us all we’re told.
To show God’s colours, it’s our part
To shine on His wavelength.
Charged to love Him with all our heart,
With all our soul and strength.
Looking around, I stand in awe
of God in creation,
I want to dance and shout hurrah!
Such is heart’s elation!

Author’s Notes: Joanna Daniel wrote the first and last stanzas;
I joined in with the middle three. In writing this, I discovered
that it is the wavelength of light that determines color
and the wavelength of sound determines pitch.
He washes his face in the morning sun
Streaking 'cross his bed
Reaches out for a cigarette
Finds an empty pack instead
Morning brings a thirst for freedom
He's bound as he can get!
'Been trying to escape her memory
But he hasn't made it yet
He stands in front of the mirror and stares
At the three day growth on his face
But the lines of pain and worry
Ain't no razor can erase
He's looking forward to a day of hard labor
Swear pouring through his pores
It's a back breaking sanctuary
From the hell his night holds in store
'Cause at twilight..she's a bloodhound on his trail
Come midnight.......she's the jailer
Comes to lock him in his cell
Where he struggles in a web of bitter truth
'Til he wakes up soaking wet
Dealing with a memory like her
How can the boy.........Forget
Tell me! How can the boy.......Forget

That muddy Mississippi couldn't wash away the things she said!
So i packed my bags, caught the next plane out to Hilton head
'Thinking the sea and the sand and sun might set me free
But the hurt's the same, nothing's changed except for the scenery
This salt water is pouring in an open wound
The pain comes and goes like the tide ebb and flows...every afternoon
But that ocean spray can't wash away these old Memphis blues
Salt water.....keeps pouring in an open wound
I should have gone to the Smoky's...maybe they could get me over you
It's plain to see...this ocean resort don't know we're through
I'll spend the night in my room...wishing I was in some other place
Where you won't appear in every tear...falling down my face
This salt water is pouring in an open wound............

She never complained
When I stayed out late
'Guess I never knew
How hard it was, to sit home and wait
Her trust was deep
And her love was strong
But she let me know..... tonight
She'd been silent too long
Not in so many words
Not one was spoken
But after so many hurts
Her heart's finally broken
On a long streak of lonely
That ran into years
She's saying.....she's leaving
In so many tears
Now the sound of her pain
Rings loud and clear
I'm down on my knees
Begging her please, But she just can't hear
I'd give anything
If she'd scream and shout
But she's speaking volumes
As she's walking out....
Not in so many words
Not one was spoken
But after so many hurts
Her heart's finally broken
On a long streak of lonely
That ran into years
She's saying.....she's leaving
In so many tears
