Leaving Keeps Coming Back!
That muddy Mississippi couldn't wash away the things she said!
So i packed my bags, caught the next plane out to Hilton head
'Thinking the sea and the sand and sun might set me free
But the hurt's the same, nothing's changed except for the scenery
This salt water is pouring in an open wound
The pain comes and goes like the tide ebb and flows...every afternoon
But that ocean spray can't wash away these old Memphis blues
Salt water.....keeps pouring in an open wound
I should have gone to the Smoky's...maybe they could get me over you
It's plain to see...this ocean resort don't know we're through
I'll spend the night in my room...wishing I was in some other place
Where you won't appear in every tear...falling down my face
This salt water is pouring in an open wound............
