Never mind the talk about a cat in the hat
I know a community totally free of mice and rats
There is a very clean area across the railroad tracks
And right in the middle of town lives a lone lady in a shack
The few people that ever pays her a visit never come back
She is ecentric for sure and stone crazy about her many cats
There are so many cats that even the dogs are afraid to bark
lest they disturb the lady or her cats; who knows what that might start?
So the people tolerate their unusual neithbor as a defense against the rodents
When people drive by, they wave, and she waves back from her front yard fense.
01202018PSContest, That Crazy Cat Lady, Line Gauthier
There is an old lady with over a thousand cats.
They are so cute they take your heart, forever playing about the house
with a stuff mouse.
She is known as the Crazy Cat Woman.
In love with cats their close to her bosom, treats them like they were human.
Everyone thinks she is Looney as a bat,
but around her house, there isn’t a rat.
All so spoiled and fat, they all have their own mats.
She's given the cats the run of her home.
They are never allowed out at night to roam.
However, you can bet that they all dream of mice and rats.
Her home doesn’t smell like a rose,
to get close to it you have to hold your nose.
When time to feed them, they all go into a feeding frenzy.
With a loving smile and her gentle touch they all fight for her attention.
All starving for affection, she brings such satisfaction, I have to mention.
They're so many and counting, all under foot she is in a world of ecstasy.

Poetry Contest: CRAZY CAT LADY: RHYME

Cath is totally besotted with her five pussycats,
their cute ears stick out from under blue hats.
She dresses them in brightly colored plastic suits,
and on their paws they wear red wellington boots.
Cath’s kittens, all have colorful jackets to wear,
She takes the cats ’walkies’, oh how people stare.
When Cath gets them home she brushes their fur,
with their tails held high they all gently purr.
She minces best fillet steak for their dinner,
whilst the pussies get fat, old Cath gets thinner.
Spinster Cath’s never been a mother or a wife,
so her adorable cats have taken over her life.
One day little Archie ran out of the door -
he’d never been out on his own before,
Sadly poor Archie didn’t get very far
as the cute little cat was killed by a car.
Cath arranged for him to be mounted and stuffed
when she saw the result she was really chuffed!
Dear Archie now lies in such sweet repose
and Cath just can’t resist tickling his pink nose.

Twice-a-day, though sun or rain, in storm or wind or snow
The crazy lady fed her strays, and watched them come-and-go
She had a name for every one, and knew them by their face
Though they sometimes had a spat, they treated her with grace
They numbered over thirty, eating more than she could pay
But with bottles and her overtime, she always found a way
She oft-times skipped a meal herself, to make sure that they ate
And sometimes lived in darkness, if she paid the light bill late
Many nights she braved the chill if she couldn't pay for heat
She rarely bought new clothing, or new boots to warm her feet
And it never ruined Christmas when she didn't have a tree
Cuz she bought an extra meal, instead, for her feline family
She made art of cutting corners, though she rarely caught a break
And countless were the comforts that she gave up for their sake
But she never felt it sacrifice, or her own needs thus impeded
She'd lost in love, but like us all, she still needed to be NEEDED
So, if forfeiting for those we love is a nonsensical thing to do ...
Perhaps we should ALL consider ... being a bit more crazy, too.

Little kitty prowling at night
What is your nemesis inside
Chasing the little brown mice
Scaring them to death time after time.
They scamper waking fluffy puppy
Who chases evading orange kitty
Who scratches and runs from chasing
Waking the sleeping red haired lady
She chases the puppy so fluffy and white
How did he get out this time
His cage was locked and in the den
Was it faulty that he breaks it in
There is a racket that wakes the bird
Who has a habit of repeating word
Where did he go he screeched again
With words so bold he woke the man.
There stands the man looking amused
Watching them all running like fools
He catches the mice put them in a pet cage
You see the boy had let them escape.
The lady gets the puppy
Much to relief of the cat
Who is so very lucky
The puppy is fat
And didn't catch the furry orange cat
But had fun chasing all the night black.
So the cat is let outside
The fluffy puppy is in cage tonight
The lady and man back to bed this time
All is well and all said goodnight.
She is the eclectic cat lady
Pretty in pink wearing a daisy
You be the judge I think she's crazy
Bobby sock chic her scarf's paisley
One big duffle with many cats inside
she will show them off with the utmost pride
In the bag you can hear them collide
Still they never stray far from her side
When the bag opens it's quite a scene
To my great surprise she has thirteen
Her favorite one his name is Dean
the smallest cat she calls Jelly Bean
As for me I am more of a dog guy
If you smelled her cats you would know why
When the cats see my dogs they sure jump high
Boy oh boy does the fur ever fly
I am the friendly dog loving fellow
My dogs love the sound of my Cello
They sing along while dressed in Yellow
Cat lady smiles while feeding us jello.
For Line Gauthier's "Crazy Cat Lady" Contest. January 2, 2018.
My first poem of the new year.
For the love a cat...she would eat her hat
She would marry a goat...and go to sea with no boat
She would gladly forsake...any human handshake!
but for a ball of pure fuzz...her own head she would buzz
Not to cut this too short...but no last resort
would be too much or too great for her furry soul mates
So keep smart and tread light...her cats hide out of sight
When crossing her room...pounces wait in the gloom
There is no point in counting...the fur balls are mounting
So get ready to sneeze...but still say " Yes please!"
when offered a cat...who is ever so fat
Her dedication is pleasing...but not so much when you are wheezing
Still...never berate her ...for getting there later
for she simply must groom...and over each kitty swoon
and as fur fills the air...she simply won't care
she will just go on preening...till your lint brush ...has meaning

Cat Angel in Incheon
Walking down the park at night
In my suburban Incheon Korean town
I encounter yet again
the mysterious Korean woman
dressed in white feeding
eight cats who surround her
eating their dinner in silent communion
She is feeding them
as she does every single night
she is the cat angel of Incheon
she takes care of the cats
every night
there are hundreds of cats
all over Incheon who are alive
because the cat lady Angel
took care of them
I don't understand the cat angel
because I don't understand cats
As far as I can tell
cats are alien creatures
from another universe
who are here spying on us
perhaps preparing for the ultimate invasion
they are very strange creatures
and why some people spend so much time
taking care of Wildcats
almost worshiping these strange creatures
well that is beyond me
because I'm not a cat person
FELICA MEOWS The Crazy Cat Lady
There once was a crazy lady named Felicia Meows;
A crazy middle aged lady with no eye-brows;
She plucked them off, and fed them to her cats;
Man!, somethings wrong with that;
Her felines also ate burnt spaghetti and spinach and live mice;
I know, I know, you think that ain't RIGHT;
And purr-fered sour milk;
Now I don't think that's to cruel;
She too would meow make balls of silk!;
Yeah! and them cats be licking her drool;
Pour her a glass of kitty-litter:
Man, she sure must love them chitters;
She kept them all locked up in the kitchen under all the pillows;
The crazy cat lady FELICA MEOWS

Let yourself fall out of that trance..
there’s no wrong way to cast magick
Poppet, we can’t lose all we’ve known
for more than a millennium
a ritual will mirror just one thing
the heart and intention of the spell
there’s no reason for a talisman
unless you can understand it’s rhythm
keep your invocation benevolent
lest the threefold rule apply
gold must live in the undertow
Abracadabra, sparkle, and flow
fifty cent words you have to look up
some will see the craziest cat lady
some see a Witch and her tambourine
your vision is your perception
sharp focus drawn out by intention
daily outcome swayed by emotion
let yourself fall out of that trance
Poppet I give to you this offering..
