Notes About The Poem

Cath the Crazy Cat Lady

Cath is totally besotted with her five pussycats, their cute ears stick out from under blue hats. She dresses them in brightly colored plastic suits, and on their paws they wear red wellington boots. Cath’s kittens, all have colorful jackets to wear, She takes the cats ’walkies’, oh how people stare. When Cath gets them home she brushes their fur, with their tails held high they all gently purr. She minces best fillet steak for their dinner, whilst the pussies get fat, old Cath gets thinner. Spinster Cath’s never been a mother or a wife, so her adorable cats have taken over her life. One day little Archie ran out of the door - he’d never been out on his own before, Sadly poor Archie didn’t get very far as the cute little cat was killed by a car. Cath arranged for him to be mounted and stuffed when she saw the result she was really chuffed! Dear Archie now lies in such sweet repose and Cath just can’t resist tickling his pink nose. Well done Jan, congratulations. There was a woman called cath/ Lived on the tenth floor with her cat / The cat chased a ball/ Out the window did fall/ And onto the pavement did splat./ Too much time on my hands I think .lol Regards Tom

haha, you did yours kind of like I did, a woman who is pampering the "kiddies" I just love how you had her kiss the stuffed cat's nose at the end. To me chuffed sounds like angry, so it was funny to see it was a good meaning!

As a cat lover, I find this poem wonderful. I hope you don't talk to your cat as much as I talk to Borbie (my cat). The poem keeps me smiling all the way through. Great job. Wayne

OMG! This is fabulous! I also think you are right...cat ladies, I believe, are generally spinsters that do not have children. I remember my sister that had a cat in her 20s and 30s. That cat had the best of everything! $$$ spent on dental caps even. UGH. My sister finally married at age 40 and had one child. While her cat was still special, gone were the days of dental visits lol. This is an awesome write and will do very well.

I had a friend who became a cat lady...sadly we found out that she lost it and is now in a home with dementia. She was such a wonderful person and great friend. Now she calls me Janet. I do know others who are crazy about cats. We just had one cat...a Tom cat we loved to pieces. Your poem is adorable Jan. I hope you are doing well my friend. Hugs, Connie xxoo : )
