February 22 Relationship to God Bible Meditations
Based on Deuteronomy 20-24
Key Verse – Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY BATTLE CONQUEROR
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
taking my soul to Your saving deliverance
Thank You for besieging me from worldly spoil’s alluring appearance
I then fix my sight to Your inheritance along heavenly entrance
In carrying-out Your commandment, subdued of my arrogance.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
training my will by Your sin-slaying might
Thank You for building me up against pride’s downfall and blight
I then find my strength in Your blood-redeeming power for victorious flight
In calming myself to prevail over guilt’s fright and frustration’s height.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
terrifying my enemies greatly
Thank You for bracing me up to march on righteously
I then follow Your leading perseveringly
In coming nigh to Your throne so I can share Your peace bravely.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
turning my heart from stubbornness
Thank You for barring me from disobedience and rebelliousness
I then fear You reverentially with total submissiveness
In committing my life to Your blessed joyfulness.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
teaching my spirit to trust Your wisdom
Thank You for boosting me against vain quest for earthly stardom
I then fall into Your forgiveness, humbled in seeking first Your kingdom
In calling upon You while discovering Your bliss-filled freedom.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
trying my conviction against materialistic prosperity
Thank You for burdening me with prayer quests to seeking You with sincerity
I then fence my mind around Your truth’s security
In combatting oppressive discontentment midst grievous futility.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
triumphing toward my divine cheerful excitement
Thank You for blessing me in my stewardship’s engagement
I then feast in Your presence with Your grace-endowment
In cleaving to You always by Your Word’s assuring bestowment.

Christmas with Christ – Melchoir’s Story
Wondrous symbols and signs appear in the heavens,
heralding that an amazing event is about to happen…
the birth of a royal child in the town of Bethlehem,
one who will transform the world and make it whole again.
Guided by the light of a strange brilliant star,
I and my companions travel by night from afar.
We come to pay homage to this newborn Jewish King,
this Prince of Peace who will save our world from sin.
We wonder, how can this be, when all we see
are such wretched signs of abject poverty?
Joseph, Mary, and Lord Jesus, the little Baby,
sheltered with oxen, sheep, and lamb in a stable.
But we three kings humbly fall on our knees in wonder,
bowing our heads and giving our hearts to this Babe so tender.
Sensing we’re in the midst of a divine, royal presence,
Gaspar, warm brown eyes aglow, gifts Him rare frankincense.
Noble Balthazar, his dark chocolate skin glistening,
presents Him with aromatic, rich myrrh, for anointing;
and I, Melchoir, entranced by this miraculous sight,
bring precious gold to worship Him, this Child of Light.
Holding the Babe in my arms, there're no words to be said;
but as I cuddle Him closely, I’m overcome with intense dread.
For in a vision, I can clearly see Him suffering years ahead;
He’s nailed to a wooden cross, wearing a bloodied crown of red.
Impulsively, I’m tempted to hide Him in my warm cloak of gold,
and help Him escape from a fate that’s been foretold.
While history will see me as only one of Three Wise Men,
none will ever know that I could’ve changed fate right then.
But wisely I realize that it’s not for me to decide
whether this innocent Child shall live or be crucified.
I only know I must not interfere, but leave Him to fulfill
His Messianic destiny, by carrying out God’s divine will.
So while sadly, reluctantly, for the Orient I must depart,
I also leave with happiness and great hope in my heart,
as my vision also revealed, there’s redemption in His blessed birth;
and there'll be good will toward all men and Peace on Earth!

To sir with all my love. You are good to me and my family. I do not have a quarrel with you. It is great that you find beauty in the hills and relate it to my strip of land, forest of land, land of barren. If it had been from any other man than you to say this, they would hear the sound of thunder upon their face with my crimson top nails. They would feel their loins become red with a jack kick from my stiletto heels.
In truth I know that you speak of the beautiful sights and think of me. This is one of the reasons why I show my love for thee. You are me and I am you. Together we are the flesh to create new Xeroxes of us. If another spoke to me as a lover, then I would say, I only speak to my flesh in that way, so leave my sight. A woman’s love is a gift to a man that gives his love, respect to her. Some would say that you are not respecting me. well, to them I say, he does respect me. We are both liberal in how we communicate our love for one another. Watch the person you marry my lady, for he is showing his unfaithfulness behind your back with a friend or family member of yours. Do not berate my love for him speaking of his unquenchable love for me, worry about the lust of your man for other women and men to quench his thirst. My love goes me and only me. if he goes for another it is at my discretion. My vow to him is to only have his line. Also my vow is to let him take another one into your chamber. I am number one and only I can give the consent to that. For I am #1, the other girl is carrying our child in her belly. The second girl has his child, my step-daughter. Both of them were a gift to him from me. Still he is only in my chamber at night. Where is your man if not with your aunt, sister, mother, and cousin. Not to mention the ones in the red district.
To my love, do not be shocked, I told the berater the story to shock her, the story of those women. I retold her that the women were carrying out children. Still be weary my mate that I know of your heart and you know of mine. I k now those girls and you know them. They are still part of this family. Sister wives if needed my love. (smiles brightly and leaves the man with a blushing smile)
L.A ‘62. English professor George (Colin Firth) is mourning the loss of his gay partner. He's
spent the day reliving memories, but that night meets his student Kenny (Nicholas Hoult),
who secretly admires him, in a bar. The two end up at George’s house after a spontaneous
ocean swim. Kenny has just emerged from the shower, wrapped in a towel. George is making
a fire. When Kenny goes to get a beer, he discovers a nude photo of George’s dead lover in
a drawer. His suspicions about his teacher are confirmed. A beautiful score of stringed
music, nostalgic and tender draws me in to every nuance of Colin's performance.
George, feeling foolish and seeming a bit flushed with anticipation (yet restraining himself
from improper conduct), sits on a chair across from the young man when the boy returns to
the living room. A conversation ensues in which George asks Kenny questions, trying to
discern the young man’s reasons for being there that night. The boy, too, is trying to learn
things about George, but keeps hedging with his responses to George‘s questions, and
nothing completely “telling” is ever said. Meanwhile, their eyes linger on each other. The
young man’s eyes are an enchanting almost gleaming blue; I find it hard myself to look away
from his sweet face. My eyes are also riveted every second to George’s face and to its many
subtle changes of expression.. Finally, the boy asks George something and at that moment,
George’s face blurs. My curiosity is very aroused when suddenly the scene has switched to
George awaking at about 3 a.m. from his bed.. The young man, however, is not in the bed
(as I had hoped he would not be). He is asleep on the sofa, and he clutches in his hands the
gun which George had planned to shoot himself with. Had George revealed his plan to end
his life that day to his student? Was that what happened in those missing hours? Had the
boyish Kenny (while George was sleeping off his drunkenness) found the gun in the same
way he had discovered the picture of George’s partner and now was holding it to prevent
George from carrying out his suicide? I know I am soon going to learn George’s fate. . .
The Lockdown Phase
Shrooti Singh
"Never got an opportunity to have lunch with family! ",uttered father. His ecstatic face imparted the delectation and his longing to lunch with his children.
Hard pressed under the strenuous work load, he was always unable to manage time for the homely menage.
It was for the first time due to the Lockdown that not only he but the entire family was bought under the same roof.
Getting back to home for almost after a year, my Mom receiving me with her eyes welled up with the love and care for her child through centuries, a shower of her immense adoration and bliss, making me realize there's no heaven above your mother's station.
"Pass the chapatis, honey! ",urged my father. "Yes, darling ",Mom replied.
A long lively conversation, exchange of jokes and memory daily on the dining table made my day, for me it was not a clamp down of the regular flow of life rather a cage of jubliance and a sense of satisfaction as I never saw my family laughing in a single smile altogether .
"This is luscious! ",we all exclaimed unanimously ,licking our fingers.
In the dearth of various food and household items, my mother regularly maintaining our house and preparing one dish to another, bringing the restaurant at home, doing all sorts of effort for whom? For us... This demonstrates what a house lady can do all alone on her own. Seeing this, me, father and my brother joined her.
"Can't do more...Need rest.. ",I huffed. Up till now we all have learned a lot of cooking, cleaning and the art of keeping household. "Really, it requires a lot of strength and patience ! " mumbled my father to me.
Me attending my classes online, studying and preparing for exams, meanwhile pursuing my passion of writing on the other hand my father carrying out his professional work, playing his old flute all at home, never thought that we would be able to
utilize such a time together.
"What else could be better! To help prevent the pandemic by staying at home with loved ones, performing our basic duties, helping others and donating the every way we can.", we all agreed.

Once upon a time there lived a very small caterpillar. She was quite shy, meek, and timid of small crowds. She would even go out of her way to avoid confrontation with the other insects until one very important day. One day she saw danger coming to her caterpillar environment and so she had to go out on a limb in order to get the attention of all the other insects. She had to make her presence known and forget all about her shyness. She even had to dress a little bit differently and carry a different tune in her heart. She had to help the rest of the caterpillars see that there was true danger on the horizon. She needed to show them what the future would bring.
A certain amount of time had passed and small tragedies began to happen in her neck of the woods. The branches of her tree began to shake and the apples all began falling from the trees. She tried to warn everyone up until this point in time, but no one would pay attention to her. Now her popularity grew and half the insect population came to hang out on her branch of the tree. She could not rest day or night. She was barraged with requests to speak to the other insects.
Soon enough the weather changed and the leaves began to fall. It was now autumn time and a mighty gust of wind came and took them all up. Up, up, and away to a mightier tree than they were perched on before. It was the mightiest oak tree of all. It made the tree they were previously perched on look like a small sapling. Once they arrived atop the new tree their entire existence began to change. They were now safe. They had solid shelter. They also had a view like none other.
What is the moral of this story you might ask? The moral of this story is that it takes a small meek caterpillar to accomplish great things! It also takes a brave caterpillar to go out on a limb to ensure the safety of the rest of the community. And thirdly, if you want to do something mighty for your community you must imagine yourself carrying out the task even before the opportunity presents itself.
Jeremiah 17:7 But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
Although you were not allowed to cross over the mountaintop to step on the Promised Land, the dream you sowed one hot summer day on a seemingly hardened barren soil finally came true after two score and five long years of struggle. After you spoke to us with a resonant but a quivering voice at God’s House that you may not come with us to the Promised Land that you saw from the mountaintop, and the next morning you fell onto the cold concrete floor of a motel balcony stricken by an assassin’s bullet, your dream is realized today. Rev. Dr. King! See it, your dream has come true through one vigorous and ambitious African-American man.
On January 20th of 2009, we Americans and every people from the every corner of the world witnessed an Inauguration Service held at our Capital City Washington D.C. A man was sworn in as our nation’s top executive officer, as the 44th President of the United States of America, Mr. Barack Obama. We the majority of Americans voted for him because it’s the time to leap forward under determinant leadership rather than look back and be in sadness.
Dr. King! The bell of freedom is ringing and echoing from every mountaintop of this nation as you so keenly desired and all people of the world are hearing this echoing bell sound with great joy. We, now, therefore ask you, the great spirit of the century to rest in peace in the tender caring bosom of our Almighty Father whom you deeply trusted and we all rely on.
American is, truly the nation of understanding. She accepts without discrimination or hesitation, whatever resources, conditions, or whom it may be, is capable of carrying out the needs of the day. America is the most proud country on earth today, no nation in the world has a broad mind like ours to admit men of all shades or ethnicity. America is really the land of opportunity, whosoever determine and pursue it ardently their course will be rewarded.
Our respectful Dr. King, today, our nation really became a land of impartiality as our nation’s founding fathers proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence, “All men are created equal.”
A three year old dreamy child
lying down beside his dad
at night on the open terrace
eyes wide open gazing at the sky
asked him the following question:
"Dad what are those bright white speckles above?"
"They are stars", dad replied.
"Will they fall down on me?"
"No. They will not".
"They are so bright and shiny. I wish to go up there and play with them".
Dad laughed at his little one's innocence and said:
"My dear, they are huge glowing balls of gases in the universe. Our sun is also a star. There are trillions of stars in the universe".
The child was silent for some time.
He stared gape-mouthed at the
black canvas of the night sky
sprinkled with silvery dots
guided by the glorious full moon
for some time and asked his dad:
"Do they have names?"
"Yes. Some have names we give to them but most of them do not"
"Is there a star in my name?", the child asked with sparkling eyes.
His dad replied:
"If you grow up to shine bright to eliminate the darkness of ignorance..."
"If you share your love impartial to all, just like the stars sharing their energy..."
"If you are steadfast in carrying out your responsibilities to make the world a better place..."
"Then there sure will be a Star in your Name!"
The child gave a bright smile as if
satisfied with his dad's answer.

Little Davy wanted a puppy for Christmas
His parents, though, were totally against it
Davy whimpered and whined til he was breathless
“Please,” he wrote to Santa, “bring a puppy, Mr. Clause”
The big day drew closer and Davy said a prayer,
“Please, dear Lord, let my puppy be there”
He went to bed on the night before Christmas
With hope in his heart and a tender kiss from Mom
Bright and early the next morning, Davy arose and running,
Went downstairs to the Christmas tree to see what was coming.
The first thing he noticed was that the puppy was not there.
He felt a tear sting his eyes but promised not to care.
All the presents were unwrapped and all that seemed to be left…
Was carrying out the wrapping paper to go into the trash bin.
Davy knew it was his job to do this simple task and wasn’t asked
When he began to carry the leftover wrappings to the kitchen.
It was then, in the kitchen, that he noticed a familiar sound
The sound of whimpering and digging beneath a cabinet there in the corner.
Davy rushed over to the cabinet and began to pull at its doors.
Out came a big black lab with one ear flopped over against its head.
“Mom, Dad,” Davy screamed with excitement, “Santa left a puppy…
He just left it in the kitchen cupboard, but it is there and it loves me!”
Davy was grinning his biggest grin as Mom and Dad came in…
“Well,” they began, “It looks like you have your wish.” Then they began
To tell him all he had to do to care for this new member of the family.
“You’ll have to feed him and walk him and take care that he stays warm”
“You’ll have to care for him with all your heart and make sure you love him”
“You’ll have to see that he has all his shots just like you had to have.”
Davy laughed with surprise at the ease of all they said and smiled with such pride…
That his puppy would be called Fred!!!
