Pretty like the crystalline canyon rocks -
Fair like a deer wandering in the morn' -
With the Great Spirit as a faithful witness
A baby girl named Red Feather was born
And for her onyx eyes and ruddy cheeks
An angel was sent with kisses to adorn.
Her misery began with John Martin -
A white trader of uncouth demeanor
Who took one day a Navajo woman
As payment for whiskey and gunpowder
And soon his bride realized an inheritance
But in so doing died young in labor.
Red Feather lived - lived with a cruel father
Who cursed her and of her did not boast -
Withholding not his friends who laughed at her
And was ignored by passersby the most -
Irretrievably lost between two worlds
That scorned red highlights and native clothes
Until one day when grief overwhelmed her -
She ran away - against the blinding tears -
Where else but to the village of her mother
But discovered that they too made jeers
At the sight of her and there enslaved her
And instead of love - realized her worst fears.
But solace found Red Feather at moments
When she'd steal away to Spirit Canyon
To gaze upon the weathered petroglyphs.
Silence touched her heart every now and then
As she'd sit among the lonely rifts
And consider the Earth with the heavens.
There among them was one where an artist
Told of the wish of an ancient warrior
To jump the cliff and join the gentle spirits
That captured Red Feather's awe in particular
And since the life ahead held not her interest
She soon desired him and her mother
So it happened during one nice spring day:
The wildflowers breezed as she took the path -
Eagles circled above her at midday
And Red Feather stood on the edge with wrath -
Embraced the sky and Sun and leapt away -
Seeking what the next world might have.
Since that time many a wayward Navajo
And traveler alike claim to have seen
Red Feather come to them - white with glow -
And swear wholly it was not of a dream
But that she lives - she lives as a ghost
Wandering along the cliffs and beneath.
So should you come to Navajo Country
Look sharp - Red Feather's spirit takes flight.
She may run silently with a clan of coyotes
Or dance in the shadows of your firelight.
She may be the breeze that blows softly
Or the silver mist that rises at night.
BROKEN ROAD LED ME TO IFE (LOVE)
She was the broken road
that led me straight to you.
SHE:
Laurel Baltimore rave about this road
like a lullaby, country music or an ode;
Smooth-sailing, beautifully appealing,
Firmly charming, endowed & stunning;
Credibly accepted and reverend,
She's the road I thought has no end,
The wise road endorsed by my family,
hoping me and her would live happily,
even the heavens didn't stop me
from threading this road for free,
Wind of confirmations breezed in
from all & sundry,
Our paths crossed, progressively but not in a hurry.
The words of wisdom offered me Wisdom
but verily verily Wisdom will fail you
where Ife (Love) wouldn't but lift you.
She is the broken road that left her toil,
abandoned her garden, cut short her own joy,
Spill her own alabaster box of oil
and wasted her sweat on the cushion of my heart,
even though she played her part
but never staying to enjoy her labour
and witness the edifice of God's favor.
She is the broken road that broke up from me,
But I'd be far gone with Ife (Love) when she can finally see.
YOU:
God bless the broken road
that led me straight to you.
Equation solved: broken road sums-up my Ex
but thank God, Love, you're my next,
my forever & ever when & wherever;
Yes, I am not the blossoming best lover
but I will be your best-ever-after forever.
You came to me after the road of recovery
all b'cos of Ifeoluwa toh koja oye
(Love of God that passes all understanding).
God bless the broken road
that led me straight to you.

I remain a stranger
to my husband’s kin
it’s strange I miss their stranger’s skin
but bring taboo to skin they’re in
if words I speak upon their name
I hide my words
in fear of harm
displease the trees who delivered man
and breezed them on a wind to farm
the land trees put aside for them
in my hands, a harp I made
bear and eagle, age they gave
a single reed cut from a blade
shamanic lines taught me to play
so free was I in what I say
so put to lips and plucked with breath
my voice through brass
at times bamboo
you will find it placed in my burial
alongside my husband and his voice too
Be of good cheer
When sadness comes;
Let peace sign clear
Grand days that sum.
Death is the way
To going home;
Where rainbow rays
Forfeit stray roam.
Dying looks plain,
Steps feel easy;
Light beyond vain,
Nice and breezy.
In sure embrace,
This simple gift;
Finesse in place
To seize and lift.
Do not despair
When death comes round;
Life's brief affair
In lost and found.
Be still my soul
For death brings life;
In pastures whole
Beyond all strife.
Here as I wait
With heart and mind,
Sense my sure fate
When death aligns.
Here for a while,
In ritual days;
I style fond smiles
As fun primes play.
Here in this glare
Of lights and sounds,
Sights that I stare
Fling feelings round.
Here for a day,
Then gone like trash;
Not much to say
But live bold dash.
As I lie down,
Let joy find peace;
A foolish clown
Can seize short lease.
No need to cry
Or waste your tears;
Just heave a sigh
To live good cheer.
No more to feel
The scorching sun;
No more free will
To hazard run.
No more dismay
Or sadness now;
I've gone away
To new endows.
Goodbye to all
Who I breezed by;
Thanks for the calls
As shock hurled sighs.
Goodbye my friends
Of time-blown days;
We shared a blend
Of fleeting play.
Goodbye dear kin
For lovely grace;
For love unseen,
Such priceless wins.
Hello dear death,
Where have you been?
Here take my breath,
Now let us scheme.

Dedicated To a Cute Little Child Who Touched My Heart:
A cute little three-year-old I got to meet,
On a winter evening, two years back;
With his mom, to my house he breezed in,
A tiny face with almond eyes black.
The moment he got in, he did explore my house,
Rollicking and romping - mischievous plays begin;
His straight-faced funny questions to me,
And his sparkling smile my heart did win.
An evening well spent, joyous and memorable
As along with my son, he did play tireless;
This kid has a special place in my heart,
Though after he left, my house was a mess!

#HEY, SAY...
GIMME A GLASS OF ROOM TEMPERATURE WATER, FOR STARTERS...WITH A BRIGHT LEMON WEDGE, TO TAKE OFF THE EDGE!
"IN FACT, MAKE THAT A DOUBLE!!"
NO, I DON'T WANT NOTHING WITH FIZZ,
NOTHING WITH FROTH...
NO SCREWDRIVERS FOR ME, THAT MAY SET MY LIVER OFF...
"SHIRLEY TEMPLES" OR "EASY LIVINGS"
ARE BENEFIT PROPERTIES IN THOSE SPECIALTIES?
THANKS FOR THE CLARITY!
CAN'T AFFORD "DON'T MIX WELL---CAN'T YOU TELL" BLENDED POTENTIAL PENALTIES.
WELL, LOOK WHO JUST BREEZED THROUGH THE DOOR?
HELLO MENTALITY!
HOW'S SENTIMENTALITY?
STILL GOING STRONG, I KNOW YOU TWO HAVE A SOLID BOND!
HEY WHAT'S WRONG...
YOU HEARD A RUMOR WE, YOU & ME WEREN'T GETTING ALONG?
"WHAAAAAT!"
"COME ON' WE'RE FAMILY...AT THE END OF THE DAY,
A TRINITY, INFINITELY***"
I KNOW, I KNOW...
IT'S JUST THAT...
I HAD FROZEN BAGGIES OF ORGANIC BLUEBERRIES, WONDROUS! YET, I REFERENCED THOSE AS SECONDARIES!
BECAUSE, I PREFERRENCED BELOW...
THE DARK CHOCOLATE BUTTERSCOTCH CARMEL DROPS...
*PLOP* *PLOP* *PLOP* AND *PLOP* *PLOP* *PLOP*
NON-STOP!
THAT WHOLE ENTIRE BAG...
CRUMPLED TAG!
CALL THE COPS!!! CALL THE COPS!!!
DIVINE MIND, GET A GRIP!
IT'S NOT EVERYDAY, IF IT WERE...
I'D HAVE A PRICE TO PAY!
YOU DON'T DRINK, YOU DON'T SMOKE, YOU EVEN REFUSE TO HAVE A COKE! LOOK AT ME...I'M IN A BAR HAVING A DOUBLE LEMON WATER!!! NOT EVEN ON THE ROCKS, IN JULY...89° DEGREES OUTSIDE, AS A HIGH!
STOP GUILTING! QUIT TRIPPING!
YESTERDAY, "DARK CHOCOLATE BUTTERSCOTCH DROPS!"
TODAY, BLUEBERRY BLISS "NOT TO MISS" EMPHASIS!
ALSO REMEMBER..."YOU'RE A WATERHOLIC!"
"AS WELL, WE...US THREE***
HAVE TO REMAIN {SUSTAIN} A UNIFIED TRILOGY!"
EXTRA LEMONS, EXTRA RHYMES,
AND OCCASIONALLY...
BUTTERSCOTCH CARAMEL DARK CHOCOLATIES...

"JUST ENJOY LIFE, BIG & SMALL, ESPECIALLY...."

Anthropoid history books
typically assume seeking sheltered safety at night
and healthy development by day,
although not unique to humane natured value systems,
are morally
and legally
and culturally significant
only as humanly experienced/not experienced.
What does set us apart,
morally
and legally
and politically
and economically
and culturally,
in addition to left-hemisphere verbal dominance,
is not our cooperatively healthy/safe

I believe this historically significant assumption
that all living
hearted
breathing day-time conscious creatures
do not necessarily seek safe sacred night shelter
and healthy daytime regenerative wealth co-investments
is necessary
to block cognitive/affective dissonance
about our outrageously anthropocentric
morally and legally undemocratic

Out left-hemisphere predative sense of being exclusively "chosen"

Hello, calling Sergeant Stedenko,
Stedenko, we all just want to know!
Sarge, we just breezed the "Ghanja Boys" toke,
And then we seized the "Ghanja Boys" smoke!
Hell Sarge, we all found weed by the pound!
And, not one goddamn seed could be found!
It was sticky, stinky, funky, funk!
It was stinkin' funky from their trunk!
So, then we just gagged 'em and racked 'em,
After that, we tagged 'em and stacked 'em!
We need your okay just to proceed,
Meanwhile, we'll watch as those boys just bleed!
Or, we could opt or adopt your church,
And give those boys a cavity search!
If they pass anymore gas or grass,
Guess we'll just have to firebrand their ass!
What the Hell? So what do you say, Sarge?
Cuz...we know that "today" you're in charge!
But, we'd really get a big "charge" if...
We could just take a really big whiff!
Dedication:
To God and Innocence
Today was a day born of imagery.
As if born from a child's dream.
The leaves were swirling, golden and crimson,
auburn and cream.
So scent treant, alive, it deemed.
The sound breezed softly,
churning whiskered branches.
Foliage and vibrations caught in their advances.
I may have woken up predisposed, expecting.
But it wasn't just me connecting to me.
Someone was directing, an Act III.
Something from my dreams attached itself and was
sentiently released in it's new world-blessed,
and met with it's liberator to walk a spell among
the trees and me and the stealthy nests.
In a visitation of a baptism and a dream
crossing over.
released, in roll
a reversal of momentary captivity scroll
of my mind's eye
in order to be ultimately freed.
As I walked there in the fragrances of the forest
amongst Life's Grove of Tree.
A girl with wings sassy slapped me as a walk-by.
A signature move that says for no particular reason.
"Hello."
Someone, put a warning sign on that attitude,
such rare earth and good to the soul to find.
A golden touch, out of the blue and filling
the clear expanse of my mind.
A random act from a stranger, that
equated to "hello brother I am meeting
for the first time.?"
'Just think,
eons from now as we look and talk of our Genesis.
Remember the beautiful day we first met.
A birthday for our relationship, albeit-
a landmark, well received, straight to the mark.
By more than a kindled Spirit.
But of a kindred Spirit with a flint and it's spark.
Met you when I least expected,
Breezed past me like a breath of fresh air.
At the time, I didn't pay heed;
Now I drown in despair.
Sent to me just before my dark times,
The light that preceded my darkness.
The light in my life, encompassed by hate—
For myself alone, I must state.
Elegant in stature, I continue to pursue.
I have to give praise where it is due.
Don't choose me.
Don't consider it.
I'll only bring sadness.
I'll only bring boredom.
I truly eclipse your character.
Hate for myself I must endure.
No choice in the matter; I'm simply a flaw.
Cursed by the standards of society,
Failed to comply with the criteria of the world.
Who am I to search for happiness?
Truly a troubled soul.
