And When I Die
Be of good cheer
When sadness comes;
Let peace sign clear
Grand days that sum.
Death is the way
To going home;
Where rainbow rays
Forfeit stray roam.
Dying looks plain,
Steps feel easy;
Light beyond vain,
Nice and breezy.
In sure embrace,
This simple gift;
Finesse in place
To seize and lift.
Do not despair
When death comes round;
Life's brief affair
In lost and found.
Be still my soul
For death brings life;
In pastures whole
Beyond all strife.
Here as I wait
With heart and mind,
Sense my sure fate
When death aligns.
Here for a while,
In ritual days;
I style fond smiles
As fun primes play.
Here in this glare
Of lights and sounds,
Sights that I stare
Fling feelings round.
Here for a day,
Then gone like trash;
Not much to say
But live bold dash.
As I lie down,
Let joy find peace;
A foolish clown
Can seize short lease.
No need to cry
Or waste your tears;
Just heave a sigh
To live good cheer.
No more to feel
The scorching sun;
No more free will
To hazard run.
No more dismay
Or sadness now;
I've gone away
To new endows.
Goodbye to all
Who I breezed by;
Thanks for the calls
As shock hurled sighs.
Goodbye my friends
Of time-blown days;
We shared a blend
Of fleeting play.
Goodbye dear kin
For lovely grace;
For love unseen,
Such priceless wins.
Hello dear death,
Where have you been?
Here take my breath,
Now let us scheme.
