If You Don'T View This a Little Ten Year Old Boy In Iowa Will Die

SUDDENLY SOMETHING

Have you ever spent a night in a six by ten foot cell?
Well that’s where my FESTERING fears dwell
And no one with a prescription pad will write for a junkie born and bred
Did you ever wish more earth dwellers would all suddenly be dead

Look, there’s a pretty little miss, oh it’s daddy’s little girl
She dances on my feet when she starts to whirl
I told her to hold down her pleated skirt when she begins to twirl
My little girl with a smile and every tooth a perfect pearl

In silent supplication I’d sneak up to hear her prayer for that eve
I just wanted to hear daddy’s little girl pray and then I would leave
First she blessed the Almighty, his spirit and his soul
Making prayers come true was her sole and only goal

It could be a league of angels advising her on the right thing to do
Or sprites to make all things look like new
It might be little singing stars, from above came they for you
So your daughter can ignore an errant and off key dove pleased not to coo

She looks completely comfortable in a cloak and coat of cashmere
S**t, I’d trade an arm for her body no matter what she may wear
Whatever happens next is only though fate to be willed
And if you listen closely one can hear the breeze being stilled

Alas she grows nigh with hips swinging and lips moving
And then those loquacious lips emitted “would you care to have a tea”
I knew she could hear by heart from across the table
And then it was only silence, lovely her and me

“Look, me and that lady over there are wearing the same dress”
And so whatever she was going to do it may have to be under duress
“that lady has the a copy of my original,” and she was enraged
Something tells me your friends have never been caged

I’ve been penned up with a pen, pen pals and ten pencils, but only one isn’t too dull
You’d think out of all those pencils there’d be one sharp one to cull
So you’re daddy’s little girl no longer my sweet
But I’ll let y’all know when next we can meet

So when I first talked about being caged in a cell
if asked for the truth my story would be difficult to tell
Because each eye a gem, each tooth a pearl
So tell me sweetheart, are you still daddy’s little girl

And s.b.---if you are gonna ask me, so where’s the nexus from one thing to another I
say go have another glass of vintage brandy.

The Way I Feel About You

My love for you is wider than Victoria Lake
And taller than the Empire State
Now, I could give you more than that
So surely you want me back
Is it a crime? Please tell me, if it’s a crime?
That I still want you
And I want you to want me, too
I wake up at night with you on my mind
Your soul passes through mine all the time
When I realize that you’re not in my life
Warm, salty tears flow from my eyes
My life feels pointless without you here
Every night I manage to shed a few tears
I’ve been in love with you for a whole seven years
But I’m “All Cried Out” over you
The thing is, you really have no kind of clue
Though, it’s not hard to see that you don’t really want to
In my world, only you
What would I do for your love?
No, no, no! The question is
What I would not do?
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Cause I’m in a daze, from your love you see
I just had to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can’t let go
Reminiscing to “Have You Ever” by Brandy
I wonder what I gotta do to get you in my arms
What I gotta say to get to your heart
I wish you’d understand how I need you next to me
Trying to figure out why you don’t feel the same
Has got me losing sleep
I mean, I look in your eyes and lose myself
With you I always put my salt on the shelf
Cause I know that together we could be beautiful
But you’re not willing to let your feelings go
With each day, my love for you grows
But, you don’t care, I’m sure
You might just appreciate it in all but, I need more
Cause I wanna “Rock With You”
And maybe “Take It To The Top With You”
I just wanna love you, baby
Always thinking of you daily
When you come my way
You brighten each and everyday
With your sweet smile
You really are my everything
And you truly are my happiness
Something special I see in you
I can’t find in anyone else
You make my life complete
Because of you I can’t sleep
A special part of me
And only you hold that key
Though, I only want the best, it’s true
I can’t believe the things I’m willing to do for you
There’s no need to hold it back anymore
I find there’s nothing I won’t do for your love
“I Keep Holding On”
Cause the love I have for you runs so strong
SO PLEASE REMEMBER THIS FOR ME
When you think you can’t go nowhere
My front door, and love, will always be here
Or when life treats you unkind
Please feel free to drop by anytime

On the Catwalk

In numerous locales countrywide, they hold sway
Pirouetting at intervals like ballerinas from Bolshoi
Beauteous, feline and very feminine
Slender to the point of emaciation, not quite
Cultivating the undernourished look on a frugal diet
Decidedly austere for a longer tenure in the limelight
Basking in the fleeting warmth of an adulatory audience
A gathering of the doting kindred and the upwardly mobile
Some dirty old men on the sly, dirty young men too
Glued to their seats craning for a better view
By and large captive by choice, a handful perforce
Sitting through to pen their weekly column
Giving those they fancy their due in the sun
Witnesses to a parade of demure eyed lasses
And a few with flashy looks walking tall on stilettos
Essentially female and contoured though not prominently so
At least not to a marked degree, yet with excellent muscle tone

Opulence, no longer deemed a career necessity
Once considered right stuff, now rejected as wrong size
An hour-glass shape belonging to an age bygone
But hardly so, from the viewers’ mind, in retrospect
Enchanting and alluring yet not overtly titillating
Each in a state of dress and undress
Willing tools of designers flaunting their creations
Sporting dresses and hats and shoes, and lingerie too
In black or white and loud or subdued hues
Displaying formal wear, casual wear, swimsuits and sleep suits
Some scanty and figure hugging, others flowing and loose
A bony look required for some, others fulsome
A voyeur’s paradise, to be sure
Indulging a fetish without stooping too low
Chilly weather was never reason enough to cancel a show
Heat of arc-lamps taking care of goose pimples
Or brandy taken neat infusing the needed heat

Harbingers of tomorrow’s fashion and pall-bearers of today’s
The strobe lit platform of the pageant
Serving to launch new faces or is it legs?
The leggy look personified by Twiggy of yore
Carried through in the interim and sustained by the new genre
Captivating without doubt, and thorough professionals
Displaying unruffled demeanour and tutored bearing of thoroughbreds
Exuding confidence with every graceful step they take
Cool as ice despite the harsh glare of stage lights
And callous catcalls from boorish males
Performing in a backdrop of future fashion trends
Money and fame finding some, eluding others
Be it centre stage or in the shadows
It is bread on the catwalk for all

Cinnamon skies

Okay, here’s a shot at those lyrics, aiming for that Prince-meets-Brandy-ballad-with-a-Usher-hook vibe. I've opted for an AABB rhyme scheme with some internal rhymes to add to the flow.

Title: Cinnamon Skies (For Him)

(Intro - Soft synth pads, a low bass line, and a light drum machine beat – very 90s R&B)

(Verse 1 - Prince-esque vocals, slightly breathy and melodic)
Streetlights blur, a hazy gold, on my way to the pump
Thinking 'bout you, future unfolding, a gentle, subtle thump
He showed his fam, so soon, a shock, but felt like home, you see
Talkin' life, where we goin’, destiny, and you meant for me

(Pre-Chorus - Beat becomes a little more prominent, slight vocal harmonies come in)
He asked about my faith, my dreams, showed such soft respect
Never pressure, just intention, true love we connect

(Chorus - Usher-esque catchy hook, layered vocals, more emphasis on the beat)
Gotta get him, gotta get him, while the love’s so real and true
He's a keeper, trust the feelin', what he feelin’ for you

(Verse 2 - Vocals become slightly more spoken word, still melodic)
Cinnamon dad, a sweet embrace, a fleeting, stolen kiss
Fueling up, for that precious place and that love I can't dismiss
Values deep, he spoke with fire, a vision we both shared
Future plans, burning desire, a feeling, well, it's rare

(Pre-Chorus - Beat picks up again, harmonies a bit stronger)
He honored every line I drew, cherished every side of me
This ain't just a fling, it's true, the man I was meant to see

(Chorus - Usher-esque catchy hook, layered vocals, more emphasis on the beat)
Gotta get him, gotta get him, while the love’s so real and true
He's a keeper, trust the feelin', what he feelin’ for you

(Bridge - Ballad feel, vocal harmonies layered, beat drops to just a basic pulse)
Goddess Abundance, blessed this path, intertwined our fates
No doubt, no turning back, sealed by love, no debates
Early on, showing his clan, that I was meant to stay
A plan so grand, a holy span, now that future’s on display.

(Chorus - Usher-esque with a slight vocal run at the end, powerful and full)
Gotta get him, gotta get him, while the love’s so real and true
He's a keeper, trust the feelin', what he feelin’ for you, oh yeaaaaah!

(Outro - Synth pads and a soft bass fade out, with a final echo of “for you…”)

Premium Member The Little Pen That Tried To Get Drunk

That goofball husband of hers brought her to this joint to see her get drunk for the very first time. She actually plugged her nose trying to sip her first glass of beer. Good grief. 20 minutes and she barely finished it. She walked to the restroom and I felt her teetering just a little bit. She likes the feeling though, I can tell! I sure liked it when she started boogying to the beat of the band on her way back to the table. Too bad Mr. dingbat won’t ever dance with her. She keeps tapping her hands on the table to the rhythm of the music. That’s why I have to write so slow. . . .
Now she’s tryin ta drink another beer but she can hardly stand it an her husband sez come on don’t ya wanna know how it fills ta be drunk? She says well at list I fill buzzd now. . .

The nice buzz wore off. It’s at least an hour later. She and hubbie got this idea to go to the liquor store. First time she ever went to one. She thought maybe brandy would taste better so then she could drink something stronger and know how it felt to be drunk. Brandy sounded sweet and fruity to her. Boy was she wrong. She took a little taste and it burned going down. That stuff sucks just like the beer. . . .

Wow she jus finisht tha hole boddle rily fast lik mebbie ten minuts ago so she kud fil drunk an she put me down ta finnish tha boddle in one shot now she kant evin kip her eyez opun UH ohhhhhhh

Epilogue: The preceding narration was based on actual fact. Upon consuming an entire bottle of brandy in less than ten minutes, "she" immediately passed out, and I recall she awoke in the morning having forgotten everything that transpired once she fell asleep. Furthermore, when she went into the bathroom the next morning and saw some flecks of vomit on the walls, she was quite amazed. Why? Because she had no recollection of throwing up, and she realized her goofball husband had actually attempted to clean up a mess in their house for the first time in their young married life!!!

By the way, Jenny, if you happen to be reading this, Shhhh. Please do not tell her other sisters. It would surely get back to you guys’ mother, and your poor upstanding church-loving mom might have a heart attack to hear of her daughter’s one transgression with the devil’s brew! Sincerely, Her Sober (albeit sometimes fanciful) Pen

Adventures At Crown Hill

It was a nice warm day, with warm breezes

whipping through our patio, as we sat there

taking all of this in.

Brandy my dear sweet dog looked so bored

lying there so still.

This dog loves going for a ride in the car more

than anything. So thought I would take her

over to Crown Hill Park, which was around

7 or 8 miles west of where we live.

It has a lake where you can see

the Rocky Mountains as clear as day.

This side walk goes around the lake

2 miles or so, a lovely walk on a day

such as this. Wild life can be found

at times, you never know what you

may see, filmed a coyote there one time.

You see Brandy old girl and I don't get to

do things very often as I would like to.

So today was to be an adventure for her

more than for me. She kept trying to go down

to the lake to see what was there, at times

she would just stare off into the wild blue,

thinking she saw something, but nothing was

there that I saw anyway, Many new scents

she took in today, could really tell she was having

a fun time and enjoying herself.

On the way around this lake we

met two different dogs, one dog

was with her master, only the dog

had his leash in his mouth and did

not react to Brandy and just kept walking,

very good trained dog.

The other other dog was a big dog,

as it got nearer I stopped and

held on to Brandy, the lady with her

dog stopped, her dog laid down and

would not move, it growled at

Brandy and I thought on no, dog fight,

she held her dog back, I told her

to please move on, her dog would not

move, finally it did and I felt relieved.

Later on we saw a strange looking bird

out in the middle of the lake, just sitting

on a log, it looked like a Great Blue Heron,

Brandy didn't know what to think of it,

she just stared at it for a while, then we moved on.

She does not see many strange looking birds.

Red-Winged Black Birds took time to sing Brandy

and me a few tunes, I think she

enjoyed that very much. As we headed back

toward the car, I was thinking the last time we

were here, my dog Murphy had joined us, but

today is a memory I will cherish in my heart for

a long time, an adventure just for my pal

Brandy and me.

The Losers Revenge

Surprise, I'm back up from the kicks you gave me
I'll be the First to admit I'm crazy
I could curse out my ex, but at times I miss that lady
I just Don't want you back, I don't want to kiss you baby
I now know you can miss people but not want them in your life
Do I need to stand back for them to understand that?
Do my poetical words make up for everything this man lacks?
I've got my eyes on a new girl and if I get the chance I'll do everything right
Make her happy, be the reason for her smile and leave her satisfied
If my previous relationships killed me, then let her be my after life
I've been numb for so long, I can't remember when I last felt scared
Lately my mind has been elsewhere
I've Cried so many tears I'm wondering how I'll manage as a swimmer
Pouring Brandy and doing damage to my liver
I remain calm with the drink, i don't panic with the liquor
I used to do dumb things like try and speak a love language to a stripper
I've spent many nights in clubs that I'd have rather stayed at home
Sometimes i go for a walk in a rain storm and won't take my phone
Am i wrong for not wanting to be disturbed?
Should I hide it, and not allow them to see this hurt?
Not too long ago i was listening to my favourite songs with eyes closed
Picked up a pen, but instead of writing a poem i wrote my suicide note
But I was unable to follow through with a second attempt
My dreams of going to heaven went
Something came my way at the right time
I won't say what that is, because if i do, it will no longer be mine
I'll keep it to myself and be selfish
Helping too many people made me feel helpless
I pretend to be confident because i don't want to display I'm insecure
I've been in the battlefield and my scars and wounds portray my war
The way I feel about this girl, I've never felt this way before
But we've both got too many issues to deal with before we start a new relationship
If it's not with her, then I'll stay single as I'm not ready for dating chicks
I'll give my all to Meg, or if not, then hide my feelings from all others
I used to think i was the only one, but now I know we all suffer
It's not about how hard we fall down, it's about how we all recover
I've made it this far with only my pen and pad as friends
This is the losers revenge

Country Sunshine Glow

(Verse 1) Yo, lemme paint a picture, country sunset glowin' Down a dusty backroad, where the crickets keep on goin' Radio hummin' low, some D'Angelo smooth and right Got that "Untitled" playing, bathed in the porch light Thinkin' 'bout a shawty, yeah, she got that certain sway Like a sweet Southern melody, at the close of the day She could "have it her way," that's a fact I understand And if she wanted to decide, I'd be right there, lending a hand. Said if you get a feelin', that familiar, deep inside The one that makes you wanna move, nowhere left to hide Won't you come closer to me? Let the rhythm take control Like a soulful country ballad, reachin' for your soul.

(Verse 2) Reminds me of that Silk joint, the way she walks, it's true Got that "Freak Me, baby" energy, shining right through. Not talkin' 'bout no recklessness, but a confident allure Like a firefly in darkness, somethin' you can't ignore. Let me talk to you softly, 'bout intentions pure and deep More than just a fleeting moment, promises I wanna keep. Remember Brandy on the speakers, "Top of the World" we vibe That feelin' when you connect, like nothin' can divide. Used to dream of gettin' there, same ambition in my stride Now I'm lookin' at her beauty, got nowhere left to hide. From Helly Hansen dreams to buildin' somethin' real and strong This ain't 'bout mini mansions, where we truly belong.

(Verse 3) Now that 3T joint hits different, "I would do anything for you" That raw, unadulterated truth, shinin' fresh and new. Sittin' here tonight, thinkin' 'bout her gentle touch Wish she was here beside me, wouldn't ask for nothin' much. Just her presence, her laughter, the way she looks my way Takes me back to simpler times, at the end of the day. Like Anthony Hamilton croonin', 'bout the love that feels so right "Cornbread, Fish & Collard Greens," under the moonlight. Knew just what I had to be, when I saw her in that light Like an appetite awakened, burnin' ever so bright. To every dude in sight, she stands out, a queen for real This ain't no competition, this is truly how I feel. By then, I just gotta step up, and let my feelings bloom This ain't just some casual fling, escapin' from a lonely room. This is somethin' deeper, a connection hard to find A soulful country R&B blend, etched upon my mind.

A Song For Humanity

I want to sing a song about Christmas
With a nice haunting melody
but so far i have nothing
no ideas coming to me

so I don't know what to write
or what I'm going to sing
I must find the answer soon
otherwise I will have nothing

what Christmas mean to me
I must find the right words to say
if I don't get something soon
then the idea would just go away

The true meaning of Christmas
Is hardly ever pursue
Some thinks its just to eat and drink
Give a gift and say Marry Christmas to you

I want to find the true answer
Cause I don't want to get it wrong
And for me to share it with you
I have to put the words where it belong

Cause this life's already confusing
So I have to be careful with what's being said
I don't want to say the wrong words
And play mind games with your head

I am just like you
I am just regular man
We can never comprehend god wisdom
Cause his work we can't understand.

All we know is he send his son
To show mankind the right way
And because of him
We celebrate Christmas today

Its the only time of the year
That we does show that we care
Then after that we become blinded
To the unfortunates every where

So as I struggle to find a melody
Of a song or a poem to write
I would not give up
I would still hold on to my pen tonight

And I will have a drink of brandy
And watch my Christmas tree light
And if I get sleepy
Then I will turn in early tonight

The true meaning of Christmas
Is some thing I think we already know
And it is to love one and other
But only For Christmas people will show a little love

Its nice to feel appreciated
Its nice to give a gift or two
But its also sad for the rest of the year
To feel neglected like every one forget you

In today's society
Its so easy to judge wrongfully
Its a dog eat dog world
Slowly taking over humanity

We didn't come from an explosion
We are born from creation
I don't believe in all they dinosaurs hypes
Or that we come from evolution

And the same way we celebrate this Christmas
We will celebrate Ramadan and dewali to
And its not about religion or beliefs
Its about the love that lives in Me and you

So I will keep on trying
To write the perfect song
And if I am successful
Then the world would will join and sing along
