So young, I was, and so naive
There was no doubt, I did believe
this babe who's latched inside my womb
with ties we had,... would always be
Latched on was he, as he was fed
then later days, our hands instead
Not tall enough to open gates
I would reach the latch for his escape
In time he grew to need more space
The cord we had, still had it's place
The loving ties from birth, so long
were gently stretching.., moving on,
yet still remaining full and strong
In time he grew, to be a man
Our bond had changed, but still lives on
He fell in love, as it should be
His bond with her, I'm glad to see
doesn't mean our own is gone
Songs are sung when lovers part
but no song for a mother's heart
When new adventures come one day
and new roads take him far away
The man he is, has been set free
to be the man he wants to be
The child he was is never gone
She's letting go, yet holding on
If once, one wish, were mine to choose
so many would my thoughts pursue
But one within my heart still yearns
for just one day, the clocks would turn
Together you and I would be
sitting there among the trees
I would lift you up upon my knee
just as we did when you were three…

For Francine's Contest: Children In Rhyme
With so many pretty girls dreaming away...
loosing sleep over me,
none of them attracted me
more than you did in that special way!
I chose you to be mine,
to be the only star to shine;
others were more beautiful
than you really are,
but what made you stand out
of the ordinary crowd...
was the simplicity you showed
and the tenderness of the heart!
I chose you to be mine...
among those who used me for their games,
but what made you real and unique
was the honesty in those eyes so weak
and the attention you payed to my words:
that's why you should be mine!
Without a promise to bond us together,
we'll never belong to each other;
don't give more than you have,
because it's so wrong
to let passion and love
deceive you and drag you along!
I chose you to be mine...
and even though I race against time,
I hope that you will be...
that rainbow over this cloudy sky!
You came into our lives a spark.
A blur of chestnut red,
Igniting us with canine love,
And nestling by our bed.
Chasing swallows in the park
That teased you in their flight,
Relentlessly you chase them still.
In the fading springtime light.
Every time I make the tea,
Teaspoon clinking in the mug,
I feel your paw around my leg
captive of the setter hug.
I take you into work sometimes
But you’re not always compliant.
Nudging my elbow with your muzzle
Sniffing each and every client.
When, bleary eyed, I rise each day
A drum beat from the sofa
Peaks as I descend the stairs,
From our dishevelled, four legged, loafer.
With head bowed low, the “trophy trot”
Announced my kitchen blunder.
I’d left the butter on the bench
A prize you had to plunder !
On our summer twilight walks
You stand and raise your paw,
If dawdling rabbits dare to stray,
Gun dog rising to the fore..
Sometimes I have to leave you
Shut the door, put on the sneck.
I glimpse those brown eyes widen
Just like “Puss in Boots” from Shrek !
You have a penchant for my socks
They disappear most every day,
I’d love to wear a matching pair
But you have stashed them all away.
On lazy Sunday afternoons
Lying peacefully asleep,
The noise of next doors wheelie bin
Soon pulls you from the deep
Then with scamp and scatter
Scrambling to the patio door,
Take your position by the fence
Bark like you’ve never barked before !
I never would have walked the miles
Seen the seasons come and go,
On every walk, see natures wealth,
Red gold sunsets fading, glow…..
You are always at my side
I know life could not be better.
A bond so precious and secure,
I am blessed to own a setter.

Despite the cries
Despite the lies
Despite the separation
The suffer you caused
The tears that came down running into an ocean
The laughter that has been whipped out
The voice unheard
The right…taken…
The will to let go, to not hang on to us…
Despite…despite…
Despite…
Despite the memories, to look at the pictures
To bear holding a photo album
To bear flipping its pages
To bear that photo album without a tear
Is something that can never be told to any ear
Despite the devotion…despite the love…
To bend down to honor the times
To bend down to look at the times
Despite the affection
The care…the tender…
Despite the unfinished conversations
Despite the raging yells
Despite the painful hits
Despite the swollen red arms
To look at the parties, the celebrations...
The recall of each memory pulls to another
The cold nights we took them together
The hot days we swam them together
The irreplaceable proud of one another
The let down of another hope
The hold on to another life
The sacrifices that were made…
The begging’s and prayers to Mighty God
The sound of another hopeless conversation
The magic that shifted you into one another
With no feelings, no recalls…
The fighting’s and rage
The curse and words
We bear it all
The miss of a reunion, the months, the weeks, the hours, the minutes, the seconds
We stood, not complete
Not together
Despite it all…
I say it with all reasons to break
I miss you! I miss you dad…
And the fault is for something
The blame is set to someone
He’d better not steal another breath
He’d better not steal another life
He’d better not steal the bond
He’d better let us be us
Or God Please avenge us
For what is taken
For what is stolen
For what is meant to be
With us…
This candidate has a background of varied industries and roles.
The experiences help me bond opposition to engage their souls.
Bravely bringing a refreshing personality and approach to tasks.
The passion forces those I connect with to remove their masks.
These lost clients cooperated for me, unlike my predecessors.
The legacy causes big shoes to be filled for my successors.
This yields an unusual level of outstanding balances collected.
Causing head scratching from outcomes better than expected.
By cleaning up these accounts with the loyal janitor mindset.
I’ve made delinquent accounts appear as if they had a reset.
Thoughtfully evaluating balances and prioritizing my attacks.
Analyzing to determine when and how to focus on the acts.
Balancing my time of calls and emails with appropriate efforts.

With 8 years at Passport Services I prepared to be an A/R star.

There is a tablature of your love
that can only be played
in the perfect warmth
of honest heart fire,
wherein the gem keys of your kisses
confirm the notes
of pulse driven inspiration
arriving upon the silken strings
of our senses with poetic precision,
the music living like a velvet texture
teaching the skin of soul
the meaning of pleasure...
Even love needs freedom to be true...
Dystopia dares to deliver
the truth of Life
into the ashen instincts of innocence,
We realize in the dawn of destruction,
that adaptation overcomes agony,
that death is not the enemy,
to live is to love,
Our nightmare is the path to purpose...
To love the let go as much
as the touch,
that's the test,
knowing that the love touch
will always be there for you...
She is a thunderbolt of beauty,
and fragile as tears in hot descent...
There is a secluded temple,
deep in the ancient landscape of Love,
where the instincts of your heart
are worshipped for the luster of their heat...
There's a love note
on your pale pink lips
that sounds of first frost bloom,
and speaks of delicate sorrow
daring the hope of tomorrow...
A Roman ritual
of rose vines and eager veins
entwine to entreat your questing heartbeat
to taste the wild soul of Love's feast,
in which you discover sympathy of the stars...
Her labor is listening
for the last break,
newborn life looms heavy
on the ancient hour,
the waves are rolling in hot,
She is prepared for paradise raw...
Night has never dreamed of Day,
neither of wide lit warmth,
nocturnal attitude
does not ask for revelations
nor for simple sight,
Midnight marvels
only at madness made miracle...
You hold the wisdom of my heart
as if it were a diamond of tear fire...
A genius of exotic pelt,
worn to weather the war
of wings and steaming flesh,
mind and body bond,
a heart to refresh...
Your heart is soo vehement
for It's deserving voice,
it doesn't want to die, to cry,
your heart needs to live
beyond the waste of Why...
you know there is a love
that exists just for you,
but sometimes it's too hard
to recognize as real,
like a heartbeat that echoes
from the touch of God...

Together we were a family of seven
Mother, Father and us five
Our eldest sister was just eleven
As we buzzed about our hive!
Every Sunday was same as such,
And the day began at just past six,
Coffee, Studies, bath and lunch
Family time and friends to mix!
Father’s earnings was all we had
To meet the needs of all the seven
Thanks to the love of mum and dad
Home for us was second heaven!
A small house could keep us glad
With a tiny little kitchen
A room alone for mum and dad
And the rest for us kittens
It was I recall, on a festive day
When we were sat for dinner
Dad said he had something to say
That would be with us for ever”
“What we have today is quite special,
The wealth of us being together”
“family and love is most vital”
This you must always remember!”
Decades since, those spoken words
Have echoed ever so true
We all live in wealthy abodes
But family meetings are few!
That little house had more charm
Than all the earnings of today
Our family love was ever so warm
That I could give all this away!!
I met a police Lieutenant who became my loving friend
He volunteered his help with a serious case of mine
It all revolved around trauma in my childhood
He understood and validated issues more than anyone
He listened to years of information with full attention
In fact the first day we met, he spent 8 hours listening to me
He helped me pursue justice and wanted closure for me
It was the only 2 and a half years, I felt I wasn't alone with this
I was heard, accepted, understood and bound by a special bond
Sadly he was killed, but the memories of our time together
All he gave me in precious hours of empathetic listening and work
Could not be traded for anything in this world where I have lived
I knew, I owed it to him to move forward and survive
His words and care will never leave me, as I will forever hear him

A silver tongue's intoxicating pitch;
leaves you little time for contemplation.
For whispered words, inevitably, switch
from flattery to manipulation.
To lessen the pain of rejection's sting:
you have learned to control your emotions.
And yet, to find love, you'll try anything:
even crystal balls and magic potions.
When trust dwindles, fantasy dreams fade out:
leading to a predicted conclusion.
For frustration often morphs into doubt:
in a state of erratic confusion.
You're looking to find a soulmate, someone:
you can bond with and forever treasure.
And share your dreams, as two morph into one:
a merger of innocence and pleasure.
For every heart, there is a counterpart:
your soulmate's out there, waiting to be found.
And when you meet, you'll know it from the start:
for your pulse will throb, and your heart will pound.
Poetry. Elusive. Mystery.
Struggling to form a steady flow
Created by feelers in the know.
Splendid wordsmith, do you see?
It is up to us, my prolific friend
To ensure this art form will never end
Missives seldom understood completely
At a feeling level, relate with a zing.
Straight as a pin into your heart string.
Poetry, old friend, elusive. Mystery.
Within your power forgotten emotions hide
The creator forms a bond with the reader that ties deep inside
Prolific word player, oh, don’t you see?
You have no control, deniability or choice?
As did not Coleridge, Shakespeare, Poe or Joyce
Poetry calls to our souls, makes us happy, you see
Our best friend is within, a romantic muse
She takes care of our needs, obliterates confuse
Splendid wordsmith, do you see?
The plethora of words that form in front of thee?
They dance, laugh and shriek, uninhibited, joyfully
We let them have the reins, enthusiastically
Recognizing the primal need for poetry
