2025.2.1
My big happy family 1st reunion.
Today, Saturday, is the 4th day of CNY.
It is a bit late to gather and to celebrate.
Can't help it though, since most members,
Worked during the weekdays.
Great grandma, grandmas, mothers and fathers, all
Sisters and brothers, including the in-law.
Aunties and Uncles, nephew, nieces and cousins
And their girl and boy friends.
Grand children and great grandchildren,
One of them was even 'bun in oven'.
So many of them.
Even from Europe joined through Face Time.
All was here to greet each other,
Delivered the best wishes and congratulations.
They dressed in their best outfit.
Red packets, Angpows and Lixi,
Danced across the room to reach the children.
They were happy and could get rich from receiving money.
Most of us sat in the lounge room,
Few worked in the kitchen,
To prepare the special New Year treats,
All the food has no meat.,
Everyone happy to share the munching moment.
Lot of biscuits, lollies and sweets,
Wrapped in well wishes plastic.
They were placed in the hexagon container, disappeared bit by bit.
It was the atmosphere that I enjoyed most, today.
I think it was same for all others,
It was hard to tell when we shall meet again.
Happy Chinese New Year,
Keep on practicing the tradition.
Continue on sharing the happy family reunion.
Good luck and good bye.
I, (though ye feel averse associating

Merry Christmas
Waking up to
Silver Christmas morning
Joy overwhelms me
Spreading throughout me
Just like the snowflakes
Over this plain
Watching your hair
Resting peacefully on your forehead
Calling for my hands.
Watching your ravishing lips
Made for kissing no one but me.
You're so beautiful,
Divine
Oh, my beloved!
My soul wishes you
Happiness, joy,
All the tenderness in this world.
Waking you up
With a soft kiss on your breasts
Merry Christmas, my dearest one
I love you.

After the flurry
My soul delights
Soft curves before me
Ice cream dreams
Shadows dancing and stretching
Defining infinite frozen sculptures
Ice diamonds
floating through the air
Glistening
Riding the shafts of pale sunlight
Landing on my nose
Blanketing my eyelashes
I capture them on my tongue
A frosty treat
A shiver up my spine
I wiggle my toes awake
Warmth in my belly caresses me
Surreal
This glorious tapestry before me
Silent beauty
Her dress of lace
Paper cutout high heels
A crown of icicles
Hugging myself now
A hole in my mitten
Allowing the magic
to seep into my heart
Wishing Happy Healthy Holidays to all
and best wishes for a Wonderful New Year !
May we all take the time we need to rest, reflect, relax, appreciate and enjoy our holiday season. Blessings and best wishes.

ODE TO BADEN
by
Kevin L Fairbrother
Baden, Baden our best Mate
What gave you the right to decide your fate
You left this life much the same as you lived it
With guts, determination and strength
and gambled that you could win
…
Baden, you left us out and pissed us off
You made us mad and very sad and all so sorry
So sorry that you felt the need to exclude us
From all the troubles that you felt
Because Baden, we could have helped
…
Like a true gambler who gives nothing away
You broke even on this day
The baggage you carried and would not unload
So the troubled waters just flowed and flowed
…
The waters still now, the baggage all gone
Leaves us the question, did we do wrong
You have paid the price, there is no return
The best we can do for you now
Is reach the place you so desired
…
Pictures and memories is all we know have
We feel cheated that your smile we will never see
And all those happy times just memories
We hope you are happy where-ever you may-be
…
We will have a drink or two and reminisce of life with you
And contemplate our lives without you
Max your dog he howls, he misses you
And all your family shed tears and grieve
…
The bush is silent the trees are safe
The axe and chainsaw there silent to
The wood pile will slowly dwindle
And the fire die just like you
…
Aka-Daka will see you off as you ride on
Ride on forever Bade as we will miss you heaps
With love and best wishes go you now
Rest in peace and sleep for-ever
Master the art of showing up. Start small and scale up. Some of us are great at showing up for others, but not so good at putting ourselves first.
Why not think of a few things you'd like to improve and take them slowly. We don't have to be perfect or awesome right away.
Good luck and I hope you are inspired. Choose life. Choose happiness. Take care and best wishes.
The art of showing up

The art of showing up
Sounds simple as a concept
But for many people
It is challenging to master
If you spent your life
Putting the needs of others first
It becomes exceptionally difficult
To honour your own needs at all
So, try something simple
Write down a goal or two
Commit to giving it five minutes
And increasing it over time
By showing up for yourself
You show that you deserve those goals
By showing up for yourself
You show respect and honour untold
For in those incremental moments
You're building confidence and strength
Mental, physical, emotional and spiritual
It all matters in the end
You don't have to be perfect
No one is born a master at anything
Try to have fun and be open
Learn and grow and find inspiration
Try to focus on the positive
'Cos what's the worst that could happen?
If you fail, you'll have learned something
If you succeed, you'll have a new platform
For each new skill level
Helps us expand our range some more
Until we find that we have learned
Way more than we thought possible
It may seem so silly
But trust me, it will count
And over the next year
You will be amazed at the result

Tesu A Folk Love Story of India Part. 3
Prelude Note: The story as painted here on Poetry Soup is the sole creation and imagination of the writer, except
the names Tesu and Jhonghi.
The Poem Tesu is based on a folk story of India.
The Tesuwalas* (little children with a earthen lamp on their heads) as depicted in the Poem are gradually
diminishing with the passing of time and changing life
styles. It's a tribute to that great warrior and lover Tesu,
who sacrificed his life because he had given words to someone. How and when you would come to know soon ....With best wishes before the festival of Dewali (Light) ...Ravindra
Tesu A Folk Love Story of India Part. 3
The festival of light is again very near
Tesu would be seen
Perhaps once again on the streets,
Till these little girls and boys
Would carry them on their heads
In the lovely decorated Handiya* (earthen pot)
Which resembles
Tesu’s charming beloved, Jhonjhi.07
This is how, the existence
Of the name & deeds of Tesu
Was saved by small village children
Who are carrying it since ages
On their pretty little heads.
Though the name and story has lost
Its real charms and glamour
In the mind of those
Who have forgotten
This non painted hero
Of the bygone age. 08
By coming only once in a year near Dewali*
These little children
Carry Tesu and Jhonjhi,
While singing the Songs
Of their forgotten love story
As a remembrance of a Hero
And his lovely bold beloved Jhonjhi. 09 To continue.....

People are still struggling. But we can get through this. Anything is possible. Miracles and magic happen every day.
Memories from 2020:
Many people are struggling at the moment.
We need to be gentle with ourselves and remember that we are important and needed in the world. Blessings and best wishes.
Be gentle with yourself
By Michelle Morris
21/06/2020
Be gentle with yourself.
I know you're tired and feeling low.
Life can seem like a constant battle
With so many scars left to show...
On our bodies, hearts, minds and souls -
It can be difficult to
Find peace and inner
Wholeness.
Be gentle with yourself.
Come rest here for a while.
Let's focus on the positive things
That make us feel alive...
The sunrise every morning;
A bright start to the day;
The moon that heralds the evening,
And the completion of another day.
The giggles of the children,
Playing outside joyfully;
The laughter of the grownups,
Enjoying time with friends happily.
The beauty that is nature;
Life blessed on God's green earth;
The beauty of the lessons,
That from each other we can learn.
Be gentle with yourself.
We're all in this together.
Even if you feel alone,
Know that we're here forever....
We've originated from stars,
And to the stars we will return;
We are each an awesome blessing,
On this planet we call home.
