From Far-Off Worlds, now I am come for you,
Across the ages, and across all time…
Behind the Sun, we first did pledge, and I’m…
Impatient as a crocus for the New
Dawn and the coming of Pure Light
Then, will I finally hold you in my arms?
(And, holding, keep you sealed off from all harms?)
That Promise has dwelt always in my Sight!
Exploding Joy now thunders through my heart,
Yet, like a brooding artist, I do wait
To find an unspoiled color, once storms abate,
Expressing your soft cheek with grace, not ‘art’…
Through fastnesses, high crags, heaths, I have sought
The ebbing flow of light from your bright breast
When I dreamed waves, the waves were at the crest
And whether I was ready… it mattered not!
For you were always there, and called to me,
In softness or in strength, you always called,
And I responding, soared toward you, enthralled!
For you were once there with me, by the sea...
In Ancient Wu, we pledged Love to the sky
As a distant sail that moved across the calm
That we would ever be to each, the balm
That heals the emptiness… thus you and I
Did promise when we met at last, this time
And separation’s bane, we did erase
Below the cherry blossoms, did embrace
Did promise that our Love would higher climb
But humans can but promise for a season,
And then, comes Azrael*, to take away
Togetherness, but still he cannot slay
That Love that burns beyond the reach of reason!
So, I am coming to you from below,
And will assail the vault with my bright cries,
And hold your Image e’er before my eyes
And seal my steps in the sunrise’s bright glow.

*Azrael – in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem of that name, the Angel of Death
Life is but a mere mass of perennial days,
You live a day and it reduces one bit;
You go on with your wayward wanton ways,
A week is over and the mass looks so small.
Whether you sleep or walk or imbibe fine whiskeys,
The mass looks ever smaller and smaller;
It does not matter what you do day after day,
But you can’t bribe the clock with a dollar.
And when finally the ball dwindles until it’s no more,
You may feel some headache or some pain on the back;
As Azrael descends to bear you to your eternal rest,
Or wherever goes the folks who kick the sack.
So you have your untouched ball of rug at birth;
Pray if you have the grace and steal if you have the guts,
Build huge castles or dine and wine if a gourmet,
And trust the ball’s end to cut short your race…
What does it mean, when the Sand gets stuck?
(Gets stuck in the Hourglass)
What does it mean about time?
What does it mean about space?
Are we given a Respite?
(I meant, ‘was I?’)
Does this mean that all callow cruelty has been redeemed?
Resourcefulness in God has won me over?
Right Use of every tibbet (tidbit) that was unspoken
Is to come?
… I do not know, I do not know, I do not know…
And yet, I climb, as if my Life depends each step, on climbing
(And somehow, I feel sure, that I will fall!)
And yet, I crazy-climb, as if my pictured Life is useless without climbing
(Will I, someday, eventually, reach a wall?)
For TIME to STOP, man, that’s a gift worth having!
It means, you haven’t left me, though you died,
It means, a breath is open for my salving,
Before another breath comes, and the Tide
Comes, bruising
All my sand-castles, and halves of dreams, and hopes
And Azrael* has got me on the ropes…
But, he’s my friend…
He’ll only come to me, when my date’s Due
And though I run from him, still at the End,
He’ll gently come and take me on to You.

(Dumarao)
Cast aside, he plummets to the desolate earth.
Hymns of his treacherous heart consume his ears.
Tears aren’t shed, pleads aren’t wailed
He’s left atop the desecrated hollow ground.
Azrael, the Angel of Death, come
snuff out his remaining life.
Azrael, take up your bloodied scythe,
carve off his wings,
and leave clotting crescent scars on his back.
He needs his wings no more.
Kiss a crimson smile upon his neck,
he’ll not sing anymore.
Left broken, flies descend upon him.
The flies sing a song of lies.
Devouring the words, he wished he had heard
at the time of his descent.
Chewing away at who he was
Ushering in who he will become.
Neither an angel,
Nor a man.
But something else.
The flies swarm the pit.
His body lies at the center of the crater.
A crimson smile graces his neck.
Murky eyes yearn heavenward.
Maggots nested within his flesh,
eating away at his unbeating heart.
Crawling through his veins
Multiplying, devouring, transforming
The quaking rot of his new body
Bleeds veiny wings
that beat against the blackened earth.
His baptism is a vile mass of
maggots, blood, songs, and flies.
His new body
Ugly, but defined.
Flies dance upon his unblinking eyes,
He can’t cry. His tears have since dried.
The fall desiccated his eyes, stealing his cries.
Ears echoing with fading hymns,
He is dead but persists in consciousness.
Maggots worm out from his red smile,
forcing him to gurgle,
“I am the Lord of Flies”
The flies buzz in victory,
Using their teeth
the maggots squirm out of his orifices
hatching from his flesh.
They raise their bodies heavenwards,
In praise of their new lord.

Death is at your doorway, the reaper nears, cloaked in darkness,
His essence veiled. He knows your time is close at hand.
How now shall you meet Azrael? He is transported across the mortimer,
The sea of the dead, he has your name upon his list, he draws closer.
Quickly now whilst the choice is still yours, what shall it be? A peaceful sleep as
breath departs undisturbed?
Maybe suicide, the tablets left strewn upon the floor, as the grip of your dead fingers
cling still to the bottle?
Or do you chose fate, Let the book of the dead make the final entry of the last chapter,
that was once your life?
Carry with you the Asphodel, the pale yellow lily, food of the dead, for the banquet is
being prepared for you.
Libitina awaits to collect your corpse, the funeral procession she oversees, the world of
Hades awaits.
So tell me, which death do you chose? For the time is drawing near.
Introduction
Angels in literature are described in various ways across cultures. Some angels were mere spirits, while others were regarded as magical. Early drawings and late drawings had them with or without wings. People who were revered had a halo above their respective crowns. Still, the thought comes to mind about the angel in question. Within biblical accounts, we have Raphael (the Angel of Healing), Michael (the leader of the Archangels), Gabriel (the Envoy of God), Lucifer (the Bringer of Light), and Azrael (the Angel of Death).
A conversation with the Angels Raphael, Michael, Gabriel, Azrael, and Lucifer can be quite intriguing. Just ask some of the prophets in the Bible, or let’s ask the people who speak to him when they are in need of something. How about the people speaking of Michael trampling the devil? Let’s ask Joseph Smith and the last true prophet, the Prophet Mohammad (Blessings be Upon Him), about their conversations with Gabriel. For the sake of beating death into submission, let’s speak to the angel of death. For the hell of it, let’s speak to Lucifer or the cult that was founded by a person believing in him. how about asking the people that claim to fear him. ask the people that claim he is ugly, when in truth Lucifer is mentioned as the most beautiful of all the angels and being the bringer of the light. His name is light; just look at the Vulgar Latin languages, which use his name to describe a source of light. The following parts consist of speaking to these angels.
The Death ………” Azrael”
I am afraid of Death until he is here.
Then I will go with him without any fear.
He will be my friend; he will take me home.
The home that might be far but also is near.
He will show me divine secrets of all joy.
The joy that is sweet and always sincere.
He will see me without all my bitter pain,
The pains of this living, with death, disappear.
Trust, I do have on my beloved friend.
He will love me for good and hold me so dear.
His eyes are like the doorway to the most high,
He whispers God’s message and plays in my ear.
Listen, “Haloo” your daylights are fading fast.
The night will be the long one and is unclear.

Goodbye, Nancy...
Deep in his lair with a scowl and a sneer,
Gargamel grumbled, "They're still not here!"
He plotted and paced, he ranted and swore,
Yet Smurfs slipped away like they had before.
Azrael yawned, unimpressed with the plan,
Another bad scheme from a not-so-great man.
"Turn them to gold? Make Smurf stew?"
But every attempt just fell right through!
He set up a trap with a cunning disguise,
Dressed as a granny with twinkling eyes.
But Smurfs just laughed and skipped away,
Leaving him fuming the rest of the day.
He brewed up a potion, bubbling and blue,
Chanting a spell—then POOF! He flew!
Straight through the chimney, out to the trees,
Landing face-first with a swarm of bees.
So Gargamel sighs, as he always must,
His dreams of victory crumbling to dust.
For no matter the trick, the chase, or the strife,
The Smurfs will outsmurf him—such is his life!
