What kind of seed have I planted today,
has my life testimony caused someone to sway?

From my planted seed has God’s message shown,
and have I watered the seed some other has sown.

I replay these questions and psyche is teased,
and I’m oft caught wondering if God is pleased.

I contemplate the pain Jesus endured on the cross,
and if I’m adept at getting God’s word across.

Have I influenced another to seek God’s throne,
God’s word tells us “we’ll reap what we’ve sown”.

So I try to live my life, not only in word, but deed,
for my witness is the only Bible some will ever read.

Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Premium Member Charming Psychopath

They live like we do and look like we do.
Inside their sometimes quintessential houses
they reside oftentimes with a wife, maybe children.

They work in jobs where we might work.
Some may even be the preacher at a church.
They could be a government official.
What harm could there be in someone with great charm?

Behind the doors of their houses,
(perhaps with those proverbial white picket fences)
they probably show at least the random signs
of who they really are.
It’s likely that someone sees something
that isn’t just quite right,
yet they are adept at manipulation,
and easily, so easily, are people fooled by them.
Meanwhile, they harbor the darkest of fantasies,
and some of them will act
these fantasies out.

Somewhere in this world right now -
somewhere in a big city nearby you,
it’s very likely that a child or young woman
was lured by some sweet words
or perhaps simply and suddenly abducted.
If not beneath the ground,
they might be miserably languishing
in a dingy basement locked up
or even kept inside a box -
fodder for the whims of
the charming psychopath.

How Their Eyes Danced With Darkness

We had a desert mission
Just north of us in Zarghun Shahr
But little did we know that day
We wouldn’t get that far.
We did not doubt the intel
That led us up the road of dust;
an IED exploded,
in up armor we trust.

To check if there were wounded,
The hatch went down and out we went.
The medics tended to the wounds
And I my ammo spent.
I fired on them with fervor
Though til then I’d not shot
a single round in battle;
Sharp shooter I was not.

I focused on the basics:
steady, aim, breath, trigger squeeze;
Before my second shot was fired
I’d brought one to his knees.
A second man was running
but Cam was by my side.
Adept at all things gunning,
He shot, the second died.

How their eyes danced with darkness
and no more saw a beam of light,
Turning us into killers
Baptized in blood and fight.
How their eyes turned to rapture
When they died in the Stan
and darkly dancing, stung me,
those eyes of Taliban.

How their eyes danced with darkness,
the cursed strangers on that day;
for what they’d done, fate would demand
A heavy price to pay.
I lay there, panting heavily,
and Cam gave me high five.
Our training had not failed us,
and we were still alive.

Premium Member Your Body Language Speaks

You’re not adept at using words
But your body language can speak
Fluently of all that you feel
And expresses all that you seek

I know just from a simple look
It’s time to be at your command
Or if you want me to take control
To make you obey my demand

I feel in every single touch
Just what your heart’s trying to say
How you want to make love to me
With passion till night turns to day

And then there are those blessed times
When your arms are my protection
Or when you feel I’ve wandered off
They keep me in tight detention

When jealousy is burning hot
And you want me to heed the sign
Your arm tightens on my shoulder
And tells him, “Beware, She is MINE!”

And when you gently stroke my hair
Just before I drift off to sleep
Your fingers speak these very words:
“Your dreams in my heart I will keep.”

When I awake and see you smile
The mischief written on your face
I know that I can bring you joy
For I take you to that sweet place

When your full lips close over mine
I can sense that you are in need
So I guide you much like a child
To where you can hungrily feed

When you force your hands over mine
I know I need to surrender
I can see it there in your eyes
You want to claim not be tender

At those times when you turn your back
And you close up your face to me
I know I need to do penance
If your favor I wish to see

And though you don’t give me the words
That express your feelings so deep
Your body language speaks to me
In eloquence that makes me weep!

Quest

Quest

For years long I espoused the bedlam in my beneath
I quest the solitary
The more close I endured; the arouse of ignition was more
This is an unacquainted fervour
I never encountered; neither I will surrender
I owe it to my breathe, my flesh and my wisdom
And I had no grip to iniquities and itches
Like how sand slips from hand

The bedlam denned in myself
If the warmth of love quest the path
Render my longevous throes and miseries
If the incessant gaze of lover quest the pearl
Pierce my heart and reign
If the bravery of combatant quest the combat
History chisel my fearlessness cruor

Is it the hurricane or the tremor; it is uncharted to me
And the tempest in my core,
It does keep bellowing
I don't the know the word
I am not adept in scripting it either
I must apologize for disturbing and disbalancing my vehemence
And awakening the equilibrium
Endowing justice to my robust turmoil
Whether it is a bedlam or a quest...

Premium Member Five Letter Words

Noble Souls

Noble souls arise,
build steps,
forge roads,
carry tough loads,
scale peaks,
quell fears,
dream stars which blaze,
clear those black skies.
These souls would tears erase.

Noble souls offer cheer,
avoid wrath
crush their pride,
prove their worth,
value earth,
speak sober words,
shape lives,
plant hope’s seeds,
serve other folks’ basic needs.

Noble souls rally,
never crawl,
never stall.
Their adept hands
nurse other souls’ awful aches.
Sweet roses
adorn their loved
angel faces.
Noble souls exist.

Premium Member Eagles Soaring

A magnificent eagle flying overhead is amazing,
as is, watching their dare-devil plummeting to earth;
floating over water, feeding on salmon, and from trees gazing,
and guarding their precious eggs in deep nests till the eaglets birth.

Their high-pitched piercing scream are a symbol of wisdom,
to the Ojibwe eagles represent freedom, courage, strength, skill;
power, bravery- to align oneself with the eagle is to attain vision,
and to wear an eagle feather is respect- but only if given with will.

To cruelly remove feathers or kill for the feathers is wrong,
eagles are a symbol of the wilderness for the Ojibwe and others;
in nature soaring across the sky is where the eagles belong,
they mate for life and the females make adept and caring mothers.

I proudly wear my eagle feather for it fell from the sky,
we, society are used to images of the eagles in graceful flight;
just watching them makes me become breathless and sigh,
but also they are love of a mother and eaglets.- Oh what a sight!

Premium Member The Creation of Adam the Sistine Chapel By Michelangelo - 1397

Genesis 1:26-27
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created man in His own image.
-Holy Bible- 21st Century King James Version

Depicting God as an old, bearded man, as if the images created are carved.
Paint on wet plaster when light diffuses, chance of deterioration is halved.
God’s creation of Adam, the very first man, where separation of sexes began.
As if the images created are carved, depicting God as an old, bearded man.

God’s finger to give life to his spirit, an act depicting the start of mankind.
God having made man in his own image, a perfect human form defined.
Adam reclined but their fingers are not quite touching, but very near it.
An act depicting the start of mankind. God’s finger to give life to his spirit.

So adept in creating human form, the artist shows elegance with strength.
In his mural, he sculpts figures with paint, across its breadth and length.
The inspirational sense of power and yet love due to creation is so warm.
The artist shows elegance with strength, so adept in creating human form.

Premium Member Time To Smell the Roses

(Free Verse)

Take time to see around you
So much that we take for granted
We all miss those little things
Which mean much more in life

We blindly make our way sometimes
Not knowing where we are
Not knowing for sure how or when to stop
Or what at the end of the rainbow waits for us

Most of the time the world seems,
For us such a confusing and lonely place
We want so much more all the time
Than what in the present we might have

Things come and go with the speed of time
Rushing and groaning the days are drifting by
Adept the fingers of time never pause for a moment
In time leafing continual pages of joys and of…sorrows

We should learn to stop for a moment
From our very busy lives and take a look around
And really see what we might be missing all the time
Everyday of our lives when we're in pursue of other things

We should learn to stop for a moment
And really smell the roses that are paved in our way
To stop for a moment and appreciate everybody
That God had given us to love and care everyday

The world spins around and never stops,
For you and me things may not be always right
Always something missing always something lacking
Out of life, in the distance we hear the peals of laughs

Smiles leave reflections clamoring for much more
Much more than what we perceive and seek
Chained up by days and more days
We follow right behind scratching for more air

But the world never stops for you and me
It will never stop for you and me
And never had stopped before for no one
And you know very well that it will never will

So make the best of what you now have
Breathe deep and never stop dreaming
Because dreams have a way of coming true
If you persist and never give up and be true to yourself.

Plumb Line Hoisted Deep

Brainstorm cometh, damning frontal hemisphere
jamming lookout, noggin perched, roiling thinking
uber wayfaring zealot, drills legendary phalanx.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Writer's block afflicts Das scribe,
     who whiz now stricken supine
adept dull livery sub par excellence
     his gold standard worse

thus, another day
     to slog thru arduous process
     crafting admirable verse
wrestling behemoth loosed sniper
     dodging enfilade broadcast sos terse.

N'er easy chore to fashion
acceptable word worth poem to whit
staring at flickering
accursed cursor doth blank stare visit

flash flooding warning saturated
     gray matter fist sized unit
groundswell burgeoning leveed banks
     barging signals transmit

urgent army corps of engineers
to reroute via sluice, sans surfeit
apprentice longshoreman
     doth double duty

     as grammarian sought to retrofit
arduous struggle ensues, where drowning
     affects consummation
     strong temptation quit

ditch ching progress made,
     thus far in hot pursuit
mind comfortably numb
     stream of consciousness

     submerges concentration
     entrenched deep posit
craftiness sentenced to punctuate
     disequilibrium doth outwit

venerably beaded trademark
     Scottish matted flair
     abandoned unfinished poem
     left forever stranded orbit
     zero escape velocity

zinging, unsprung,
     pinging mindscape nonprofit
able endeavor reflecting zeitgeist
     bombarding Messerschmitt
undermining, strafing, disabling
     cutting crew rescue outer limit
faint feint blinking in the twilight zone.
