In reference to Shadows, a novel entitled, Shadows of The Plains,* and two Biblical references stand out. One is the Apostle Peter's shadow relating to healings and the other is the very infamous 23rd Psalm of King David.**

The novel of 272 pages made reference to Shadows only once, but the story permeates the reality of fear as the early American pioneers blazed the trails in their westward movement. The Shadows they experienced were not those of a standing or immovable object like a pole or tree, but rather that of Shadows reflecting live and moving mortals.

Shadows are powerless, but the power lies in what is being reflected. However, the presence of the FEAR of the Shadows is very real and can easily hold us captive long before the appearance of the figures behind the Shadows. But not all Shadows are created equal. Some Shadows may also represent the unknown entities, real or otherwise, that lurk and haunt us in the dark places of the soul.

Peter's Shadow was such that the people believed that it would bring healings to the sick as the miraculous power of God flowed from the body of Peter as an electric current utilizing copper wire as a conduit. One might say that this was a Shadowy miracle. The Scripture does not specifically say that they were healed. However, it is certain that Peter's Shadow was one that generated faith, not fear.

King David speaks of 'the Shadow of Death' which he walked through and had no fear of evil because he declared that God was with him. Fear is most definitely an enemy to be confronted in the Shadows, and King David indicates that 'fear is a choice'-"I will not fear".

Oh mum, I lied to you big time
You will never ever understand how it broke my heart
But I was doing it to protect you
It wasn’t my place to tell news that would devastate our lives
Dad was taken in hospital and you went into care
I visited you every day, took you out for walks and we would talk
You’d ask me about dad, one day you thought he was dead
But because of your dementia that was simply in your head
I kept telling you he was doing fine and we would go and visit him regularly
He greeted us with his massive smile – it is still on his face even now
But we were hiding a secret – he had cancer and was still having tests
In fact he was hiding it from me how ill he was so we were both deceived
But I kept telling you he was fine – it was what he wanted
Every time I saw you mum I had a sunny smile
But inside my heart was breaking and I was wearing a mask
Then came the body blow for me
His cancer is terminal and he is dying
You never saw the tears I was crying
He came home and you remained in care
So I lied that we couldn’t go to the hospital
I came up with some great excuses I was very creative
In fact on the day he was coming home
I went to get the house ready and take him some shopping
You were there with a friend who had taken you out
I had to tell her to get you out quickly as the ambulance was arriving
I didn’t want you to know he was coming home – it was his wish
He needed time on his own to take in the devastating news
You kept saying to me you thought dad was dying
I had to lie because it was his wish you weren’t to know
Not then – the time wasn’t right
We kept it secret from you for a week when you went home
You both needed to adjust to being back together again
I will never forget the day I arrived and he had told you his news
You were sitting together on the sofa holding hands
Oh mum it broke my heart
You asked me if I knew dad was dying
I had to say I had known for a while
You were angry at me you said I had lied
If things had been different I would have shared
Mum I lied for one reason – because I care

1234 and 5

1234 & 5
These were the years we had
How can I forget those creamy
                 years?
                 Wining, dinning, dancing and
                 chatting
                 These memories are stock inside
                 of me

Please, let's travel back to what
                we had
                May be, they weren't enough
                for me
So I pray, we repeat history
                together!
                Can we talk more about
                Friday 23rd Of July?
Let's meet at the old store
                like old time, 1800 hours!

               I'm there, but I can't see you
               It's dark out here and I can't
               see Properly
               Please give me a sign
               that you are out there
I want to see the beautiful blue gown
               You always wore during picnic.

               Someone just waved,
               Are you the one?
               No it's not you.
               She's got blue eyes,
               You have brown eyes.

               Please where are you?
               I've been waiting
               Why am I so scared?
I'm now at your house knocking,
               But no respond from anyone.

               Your neighbours are now starring
At me Like a total stranger
                they haven't seen before,
                Just one was bold enough
to tell me that You are no more
                But I didn't believe him

                This is the 3rd time
                I am hearing this,
But I refused to believe it's true
                even after visiting your new
                 home, grave.

                 Please come back,
                 I wish to see
                 your face again
                 1234 & 5!
                 Were the years we had.

' They Are Wrong To Blame God ... Part 1 of 2 ' (Or Implore the People With Love)

I Know Some Have Been Hurt
By What Others Say and Do … ( Rom. 8: 22 )
But In All Fairness God,
They Are So Wrong To Blame You

For Deceit and Treachery ( Gen. 4: 5-10 )
Is Courtesy Of Men ( Eccl. 7: 29 )
And Those Rebels That Started It All ( Gen. 3: 1-7 )
Hurled Us Into Grief and Sin ( Rom. 5: 12 )

They Took God’s Loving Gifts ( Gen. 2: 8 Rev. 4: 11)
(And In Honesty, So Do We) ( James 1: 17, 18 )
And Then, Tried To Steal More ( Gen. 2: 16, 17 )
(More Than Fruit From Tree)

Was It Out Of Want ? …
No, It Was More Like Greedy ( Gen. 1: 29 )
“Our” First Human Parents Were Selfish (Gen. 1: 28 )
And Now, All of Us Are Needy … ( John 3: 16 )

Needy For Kindness and Good-Health Re-Storage
Needy For Security, Needy For Porridge
Needy For Mercy, Needy For Courage
The Reason I Write This … We’re Needy For Knowledge

That’s Why, Souls Go To War
That’s Why, We Steal and Kill
Why The Lies, Envy and Fear … ?
They Don’t Know Who or What’s Real …

Ever Since Adam and Eve’s Fall
We’ve Looked For Someone To Blame ( Gen. 3: 12, 13 )
But We Are Wrong To Blame God (He Called) ( Gen. 3: 8, 9 )
… And It Is Our Own ‘Crying-Shame’

Even Now, God Gives Us Care
God Gives Sunlight And Rain ( Matt. 5: 45 )
By God’s Grace, He Lets Us Live
He Is Not The Blame For Pain ( Eccl. 7: 29 )

See … If Someone Slaps My Face
I Won’t Say, It’s God’s Fault
It’s In That Person’s Heart ( Matt. 15: 19 )
(And In Mine, If Back, I Fought) (Matt. 5: 39 )

God Says, Love One Another ( Matt. 22: 39 )
God Says, Treat Each Other Right ( Matt. 7: 12 )
God Says, Fear Not The Darkness ( 23rd Psalms)
For God Gave Us, “Love-Son-Light” ( John 3: 16 )

                                (Part 1 of 2 )

The Piece of Peace

The sky is a mass field of common wealth
Air,light and water yields of common wealth
Along and across, the lines drawn on the political map
Like nerves running over the body
Bounding the water resources as mile stones
Separated the hearts not the soil
Unrest, tearing the unity and peace, piece by piece
The idea of inventing bottles
Made drinking water a marketing commodity
Water is the champion in some own camps
Water is a weapon in the agenda of the world war,the last
Polluting environment inch by inch
Money making minds, burning oil in sleepless nights
To discover a vial to make "inhaling fresh air" a commercial commodity
There stands greed as a dividing wall of common wealth
In between rich and poor
Rich is right and poor is left!
Up setting the order of common wealth sharing and caring
Great not greed, greet not greed, slogan is fake!
The spider spins it's own web for it to run
Anger, jealous and affection a World Wide Web
People unaware the tool of love to cut it to get out
Love and affection got out of hearts and hiding in the armpits
Where,Where is peace?
True, the foundation of commonwealth is strong as the Great Wall
"Breaking the Earth of one fourth
Bringing people of one third
Briefing the heads in good word
Business become,commonwealth"
This "mantra" is not answering the burning issues
If meeting is the answer, that's to meet the peace not people
It is a waste of time and money otherwise
"It is like going to the toilet,
There is a sitting, then there is a report and matter is dropped"
A veteran Lankan parliamentarian as revealed
Out of fifty three seats of Commonwealth
Find the fifty fourth one
Let peace sit down on fifty fourth seat
Let it the pivot of searching peace
Pick up all pieces of peace
Past it on the wall of CHOGM
It is greater than the Chinese Great Wall, very strong!
Resolve,peace!
Dissolve finding peace!!

taking place in Sri Lanka from 15th to 17th November 2013)

A Satanic “ANTI-CHRIST” Lies in Every Heart

My ‘Brothers,’ ‘Sisters,’ hear my ask, and choose to follow CHRIST!
What ‘RIGHT’ calls faith’s not FAITH at all. LOVE claims no ‘CHRISTIAN RIGHT’
to force ALL PEOPLE to its WILL! My God! RIGHT’s aptly named!
‘RIGHT’ think that acting in THEIR WILL’s the way to paradise
but that’s IDOLATRY. All faith that’s sure it’s RIGHT is SIN
(the ‘DEVIL IN DISGUISE’) and GRACE a gift God gives to ALL
(man’s actions don’t deserve!) Friend, FAITH’s the path to where Grace lives!
Abortion is a fact of life (at times, a gift from God!)
which would be parents think they hate (rape’s victims meet with love!),
and practiced long before Christ’s birth. The Bible’s silent here!
Friend! It’s satanic claim to KNOW what’s right for other’s lives!
‘Roe versus Wade’ does not hurt you and lets each person vote.

The Truth is true for all of time, no matter how it’s sliced
and those who lie to make truth wrong are allies of the night,
with hate, with Hell, with Death! Love wins when Trump, his friends are shamed!
Where Satan tricks, God gives you choice (redemption conquers vice),
God’s goal’s your growth, His Truth’s that Love wants sinner’s souls to win!
Success gets primed with Christ’s amazing Grace and still we fall!
No church fares better than the rest; they’re wisdom’s fugitives
that seek to hide their nakedness with borrowed leaves! How odd!
Acknowledged sin has lost its edge (where vanity hides truth in glove);
what’s weak is strong through faith (though all feel shame who know they fear!)
Life’s lessons stressed we earn through pain; its honey comes from hives.
“Each night earth’s known has met day’s dawn” is poetry worth note!

Long Tooth
May 23rd in 2022
Poet’s Note:
Do not despair that our churches are all more hospitals for the sick and dying than they are Country Clubs for the saved. That seems to be what Grace is for! Give more Grace to others if you dream it is yours to share.

The Remainers

THE REMAINERS
A Comment on the march on London against the Refrendnum Result

The 23rd of June 2016,

A noble day, a great day,

The day the people had their say,

But if Remainers had won the vote,

They would pontificate and preen,

That democracy in action had been seen,

and boast of principles not compromised,

That their democratic ideals were realized,

Would be incensed if you questioned their win,

Yet are happy for self interest to indulge in that sin.

The Remainers all want to overturn,

The principles we all must learn,

The values that define a nation,

Should not be lightly cast aside,

Do none of them have any pride,

The vote is made, the die is cast,

Do not ignore our noble past.

Remainers this was not your turn,

you know you've got it wrong,

One day this tragic treachery,

will be refrained in song.

Democracy has died today,

you killed it with your lies

And so in every one of us

Our hope for freedom dies.

The little man he had his day

but then you shot him down,

Ecstatic when he won the fray,

he little knew that you would say,

We do not think you know enough,

besides you look a little rough.

I stand to lose my job,

and probably all my money,

I think it's best if you don't count,

and then my future's sunny.

Don't worry, we'll look after you

providing there's no fuss,

We will have to change some rules of course,

so this again, won't happen.

Give it a Year or two,

I doubt that you'll remember,

And going to the polls to vote

will be a cold dead ember.

To Remain where we don't have to think,

Where absent honour, hides it's face,

The race fair won, to you means nought,

Where is your conscience, your shame to trace,

Your fairness, of which you give no thought,

Our values are by you demeaned,

Our most loved Land that you disgrace.

If the referendum is overturned, then Democracy is dead. RIP

Hot Roast On Kevin Lauer

Ocean waves, ships like us, and your spandex swimwear was an atraction for any girl, not in the right state of mind.
It was Tahiti, 1998, no, it was "1999" and thats why "Prince" wrote the song.....
Over that hot, hot summer- my 1960's vintage swimsuit, black and white; floral with clashing purple and pink swimskirt.
People saw me coming a mile away and looked so fasinatingly, at top portion, black and white vintage suit, water, sand, Oh, what a beautiful day.
Yes, The waves when two passing ships meet, that sizzling night on the 23rd of July 1999.
The beach was crowded, buns and sun and hot man flesh everywhere, But I thought of you most, after seeing you near the shore. After all, there was more to you than most in that spandex spedo you wore so willingly and I not to willingly at first.
Perhaps it was the sun that day as I could not stop my following stare of your deirerre,
as your eyes peeled off my black and white vintage swimsuit- flowers on the sand, nearly completing the reasoning for all things in life. Or at least I thought so that new morn after.
I've thought of you so, in many fantasies and some times I dream of being something famous, where you would consider my love for all time true. I dream of the surf, that rigid, pounding of the sea.. You and I, vessels. Yes, ships- we have met, and shall again My Love.
I dream of you deep in the night, I wake up in night sweats, and have to clear my head, (My only ecognition as I open my eyes was the sizzling summer In Tahiti was it 1999, or perhaps it was 2001 for the nights are long yearning to see you once more. You in your spandex bikinis, me in my black and white vintage wet wear, and Dear Kevin, perhaps that is why I am a writer today. To be somebody to you- special!
Will you ever think of me again? Do you truly care for me and me only? Kevin... Kevin Lauer~*! ............................................................................now I'm changing my bed.

Premium Member Reflections

I'd say it was late Spring or early Fall in 1954, a quiet time
in American history; and Mr. Eisenhower was The President.
There was a sweet and kind teacher hard at work,
teaching kindergartners how to figure, read, and write.
She's also teaching them fair play and how to do what's right.
No one seems to be interested in picking a fight with The Lord's
Prayer or The Golden Rule. No one is opposed to the reading of The Ten Commandments or The 23rd Psalm being read in public schools. Why,
there's a Bible on her desk. There's a little boy playing with cars and trucks in the big sandbox, and later that evening, I saw him on a stage in a play with several other kids as they were singing, 'twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are'. The next day, he was on the playground having the time of his life swinging high and seesawing. He and all the boys and girls were jumping on and off the merry-go-round and never grew tired of running and playing hide and seek. Every second of play is treasured, recess being so very brief. That old fashioned cowbell rings dutifully every morning, signaling class time. Several hours later, it was lunch time followed by a recess of fun time. I saw little girls 'jumping rope' or playing 'hide and seek' as the little boys busied themselves playing 'marbles', 'softball' or 'pop whip'. Sitruc, the little boy I referred to earlier, attended this little school about two years before it burned down, and he had to be schooled temporarily at a little church in the same little community. He was now in the first grade and loved playing 'pop whip'. As usual, Sitruc was at the end of the line, being held very tightly by an older boy, lest he being airborne, gets thrown across the grassy green campus grounds and get severely injured. Before long, the old cowbell begins to ring and kids start their trot for the afternoon classes.

His girlfriend he wanted to see
To travel he came by Jet Ski
The moron, the fool
Broke our Covid rule
Our Deemster was far from happy!

His Christmas will be spent in jail
Found guilty, he’s no chance of bail
This romeo roofer
He sure is a goofer
No wonder his face turned so pale

*This morning around eight o’clock
He’s transported to Douglas dock
Where he was sent packing
(A jet ski he’s lacking)
No longer such a proud peacock!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9082103/Jetski-Romeo-FREED-time-Christmas-Boyfriend-crossed-Irish-Sea-released.html

This idiot had never ridden a jet ski but decided to contravene our very strict covid regulations and come over to the Island from Scotland to see his girlfriend who he had only met in September – he had twice been denied permission to travel.

He thought it would take about 40 minutes to travel but it took him over 4 hours as the sea was rough and then he (allegedly) walked 15 miles to her home, Meanwhile the coastguards in Scotland were worried about him but managed to contact him via mobile phone but he never disclosed he was on our island. He and his girlfriend went out to 2 nightclubs and when questioned by authorities he said he lived with her and gave her address… but he got caught out, court and put in prison for 4 weeks. However, today (23rd December) he was released and deported back to Scotland which I guess is good news for the 2 children he has with his ex partner. Only time will tell if he is allowed back on the Island but because of the situation in the UK with the new variant of Covid we are currently under very strict lockdown since midnight yesterday and only residents and essential key workers are allowed to come to the island…. Another poem is in the pipeline a parody of a John Denver song called I’m leaving on a Jet- Ski… watch this space!
